  1. lmao, bro I love my car dont get me wrong; kinda a love-hate relationship ok some good points: the gearbox is nice to drive but compared to say a ford fiesta, you can tell its a strong mechanical change. the car still makes a few squeeks here and there from the dash plastics, also, the car does not have alot of sound deadening so you can hear the road/tyres which i guess is paramount in a sport/track car. In conclusion, im glad i have my gtr but as a daily driver, i wouldnt recommend one unless you have another car. A gtr is one of the best cars you can own, they make you feel so special when you drive it once a week/month etc
  2. Hey just thought id put in my impressions of owning an r34 gtr. Basically, i had to buy another car as it aint a great daily driver. Being too paranoid, i wont park it anywhere and i must know the route im driving as to avoid bumps/dips etc in fear of scratching the lip + parking is a little difficult cos the turning circle aint the best. the car burns alot of fuel too, especially if tuned Personally i cant see over the bonnet as the buckets sit quite low; im not exactly short @ 5'8" lolz Again, this is only my opinion from owning one for 2 or so years and only travelled 6000kms (currently at 29,xxxkms) cheers -Johnny

  4. Has anyone seen that motive dvd with the black time attack r34 gtr? they spared no expence on the build yet still ran -5 turbo's so they must be good enough
  5. Thankyou Phil, i much appreciate your taking the time to share your experiences as although ive read a bunch of threads, its great to have someones 1st hand experience in one go. Im going to look into the coilpacks; are splitfires a good choice? any other brands worthwhile? Im down for some injectors and AFM's (too bad i didnt buy a d-jetro) and the fuelpump is only 29k old so i hope it will flow well. I made sure i have plenty of backup budget for any other parts i require. Im currently searching for parts so i hope some traders wouldnt mind PM'n me with some parts in the list hehe! Will keep posted on my build, hopefully grab some photos too again thankyou for your input, it helps alot! -Johnny
  6. I really admire people like you, you sit and think of things which arent done yet; it sounds great in theory but true that there probably aint enough air displaced to pressurise a container that would hold enough water; a syringe maybe Again a nice idea which is how people invent new products, keep using that brain of yours.
  7. Id say the ecu aint the best bet. Also what tyres u running? drop some psi before the run?
  8. complaining about imports, i have two words......holden viva; or is that daewoo viva rebadged. What a piece of shiiiit car, want to make a panic stop, you put on the air con
  9. AMAZING car man, so clean and i love the wheels!!!! the r34 gtr body looks great, additions of some nismo skirts and rear pods make the car flow a little better. apart from that, thats it! i just got some myself from bodyform and the quality is great, easy to fit with little fine grinding and a coat of paint. Heres a pic to get your motivation up lolz all the best and many years of safe driving -Johnny
  10. I was really keen on braided lines as on my previous car, an s15, the water lines severed when the metal in the manifolds would expand/contract when heated but since ive been told that the gtr solid lines are very good and if you install a good, new turbo, you wont have to touch them. if you have the spare money, then why not cos they do look nice but if your on a budget then probably not worth it. I certainly wouldnt buy an unknown kit as you may destroy your engine/turbo/overheat etc. Go for a trusted brand, even trust greddy oil filter relocation kits ive heard will leak. So speedflow fittings and maybe pirtek for lines would be the go? what other brands of braided lines are there?
  11. lolz, badzz. Ive got a 325i - bought it brand new in 04; very nice car but a little boring. No probz man, look im being harsh cos the gtr is a great car to own, i rarely drive the thing as its pretty much perfect and i dont want to clock up too many kms on it. But....when i drive it once a month or so, i feel special. It feels special and so far as ive had it, i havent been picked on ie. hoons tailgating me/trying to race I have nismo s-tune suspension and it is great for handling without being too still; coming from an r33 back in 02' which had coilovers and was terrible Im currently doing my stage 2 upgrades, first being a simple tune and breathing mods for a nice 255awkw which is on par with most of the other cars on ur list; bmw, rs4 etc. Addition of turbos and a tad more fine tuning will see an easy 300awkw which is more than enough to keep up with most cars on the street, perhaps even a ferrari or 2 lolz. all the best mate with the choice, please keep us posted on which u buy! -Johnny
  12. Hi, I have an r34 gtr now and I will say that they will outperform (mild mod) those cars on the track and at the drags but not on the road i.e when will you dump the clutch at 8000rpm to beat a 6.2L v8 in the merc. I hate my car on the road though, its crap for a daily; in fact i had to keep my e46 bmw. maintenace is ok i guess, i havent had to do any work on my car appart from services/fluid changes etc. for an all round package, go the c63 amg; nothing is better than a big v8 for daily driving, overtaking etc and will be comfortable. Granted, costs alot more and people will hate u in a merc, u look a cock and your car will get keyed everytime there is a week in the year
  13. Hmm might sound a bit daft but ill jump on my xbox later; forza motorspot 3 lmao!!!!! hopefully snowman will post in his experience
  14. lmao!!!! only ever at the CBA ATM or nandos Hmmm well not really, ill have to check that program out; maybe a change in final drive would be worth looking in2. I never go into 6th gear, except when im on a freeway. Thanks for the tip lolz wouldnt want to be able to say: i go from 0-150 in 6 seconds. Now at 9000rpm im out of gears
  15. Great advice man, thankyou so much! ill start ordering parts. Any particular brand of injectors and front pipe? im glad to hear that man, didnt want to go overboard with cosmetics lolz but i will grab some volk lm-gt4's in black to fill the guards a bit better. Thanks man!
  16. Hi guys, for a while ive been planning the next stage of mods for my R, after reading the forums for peoples advice and experiences, I think i have an idea of what i want. Just after some clarification or criticisms so i can make a start on purchases. oh, jst quick, my car is rarely driven and never has or will be taken to the track/drags; after anything over 300awkw with more low to mid range power/reduced lag Intake: Will change from my apexi pods back to the stock airbox; i have an apexi panel filter and a nismo snorkel. AFM: Would my stockers handle this power level or would a nismo upgrade be worthwhile? Turbine: Seems that 2860-9 would be the go as they are off the shelf and bolt-on. Water/Oil lines: Thinking of braided lines for the turbos as the solid OEM lines possibly can move and rupture (found this out on my s15) Intercooler: Keeping the stocker but ill have it cleaned out of oils/deposits for the best efficiency Dump Pipes: As ive read many times, the stockers will be fine; might have the internals grinded of jagged edges Front Pipe: Have a stock pipe on ATM, worthwhile for an upgrade? Injectors: Will stock provide enough flow - perhaps a fuel pressure regulator to boost the pressure? Fuel Pump: Maybe a drop-in nismo upgrade - is this required? Cam Gears: Not sure about which brand; maybe HKS, tomei etc Ceramic Coating: Turbine exhaust housing; worthwhile? My current mods produce 255awkw: have a power fc, HKS EVC, Fujisubo cat-back, high-flow cat and apexi pods. Creatd motorsports tuned the car and ive been very happy so ill stick with them. I know this is a bit of a long thread and alot of information ive searched for previously but im just after a quick final review by anyone who cares to chime in - would be much appreciated Thankyou in advance -Johnny PS: here she is now sporting some new nismo skirts and rear pods - im also grabbing a Z-tune bonnet (finally)
  17. oh yeah, saw the car the other day when i was going to westfield; i was in the black r34 gtr - you car is kinda hard to not look at....nice nice
  18. Madzzz found it, your right, its made from FRP and costs a tad over 400 brand new so ill post a price of 380 since its pretty much brand new Looks like the sale fell through, the bloke decided to stick to the stockers so they are back up for sale, ill PM you if your interested. They arent the expreme ones, they are the welded ones; dont know what the deal is with those ones, replacement model? maybe thats why i got a good deal on the pipes. Im sticking to the stock dumps since im only after the 250-270awkw number so a little blasting and port matching + ceramic coating will give me the results im after (thanks for the advice!) I gotta do some research on the stock front pipe if it is worth changing? maybe gain some response? cheers man
  19. Hey mate, sorry but the dumps just sold but the snorkel is still avaliable; hard to put a price on it cos i dont know how much they were new and how rare they are, ill keep checking and post back a price. Price drop on turbos though - $2200 + extra for delivery cheers ps: jst quick, if anyone owns one or knows how much the nismo snorkel is worth care to chime in? thanks
  20. Da Badst, me n da boys are hanging for it. Play it in the dark right up against the screen with the volume up............truets
  21. Pik of snorkel will grab some pics of the dumps and turbz asap
  22. Hey, the snokel is for an r34 gtr but im not sure if it fits any other car. Price wise, i know i didnt post yet cos i dont know what they are worth (came with the car) Ill check some import sites and see how much they are, if they are rare etc and can finally post a price - again i apologize
  23. Hey guys, I just bought some turbos and dumps for my GTR. After reading some threads on street turbos, I realise that they are too big for street use and for the power I am aiming for (only 260-280awkw) + I managed to drive a mates r33 with the -5's and they have a little flat torque spot which im not too keen on. They are the 2530 Garrett equivalents (2860-5) so I wish to sell them to somebody who wants a little extra power. They are new, and havent been mounted or anything; selling for $2400 and ill post them too. They are only the turbines with the actuator but no gaskets as I was gonna have the tuner source those parts for me. the other item is some tomei dumps, new again but after reading about the r34 gtr stockers which can handle the 'low' power im after, dont really see the point; will have my stockers blasted and honed to remove the jagged edges (same as my manifolds) anyways after $800 for them I know this is a for sale thread but anyone want to chime in about a good front pipe, or is the stocker good enough? thinking of the trust greddy pipe which has the dumps and front included - good compromise? Last item is my Nismo snorkel, kinda kevlar i think - selling cos ive bought a stock plastic snorkel which i prefer - currently i have it cleaned and wrapped in glad wrap as i think its too nice to put on the car. anyways hit em up with an PM if interested -Johnny -Get some pics up ASAP
  24. Sounds interesting, might pop down to take a look. Too bad no AWD though, wouldnt mind a run to see if my tune is still running well
