Turbo Whistling After Being Rear Ended
Atomnaya posted a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hi guys, I was involved in a accident, an old couple rear ended my GTT. Got it back from the repairs shop. Everything seems to be ok, except for the fact that now when the turbo kicks in, i can hear it whistling. It never used to do this before. Basically the rear bumper was damaged, the boot was slightly damaged and the exhaust tip was damaged. Could have the damage to the exhaust resulted in the turbo whistling? Could the exhaust bumped something near or around the turbo. Sorry for the noob questions. Cheers -
I wanted something small to take to LANs as well. Was getting sick and tired carrying a mid tower, plus i've always wanted a small case from my last build which was 6 years ago. The new GTX 560 is out, that could be a better option than the 460, plus your future proofing yourself for that bit longer.

Hi Guys, Thought I'd share with you guys my new PC after 6 years with a P4 Northwood. Specs are: CPU: Intel i7 950 with stock HSF Memory: 12Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz (3 x 4Gb) Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Gene Primary HDD: OCZ Vertex 2 E 120GB SSD Data HDD: Western Digital WD1200FAEX 1Tb Video Card: Leadtek GeForce GTX570 PSU: Corsair HX850 Optical: Pioneer BDR-206BK (BD burner) Case: Lian Li PC-V354 Black Basically bought and built mid december. Won't be doing any overclocking and may buy another GTX 570 later for SLI (when prices come down) Cable loomed pretty much every cable. I didn't notice I had a 'black' theme going until I finished. Once PSU was in, cable management went to sh*t. Stupid ultra long power cables. When turned on. Plays all the games I've thrown at it without it missing a beat. All graphics settings on the highest. The only drawback with the system is the case. Its a pain the ass to just open it as its not your standard 2 screws at the back then slide the side off. instead, you have to unscrew 8 small screws thats holding it on the chassis. So my community announcement would be to avoid this case if you tend to open the sides alot.

I replaced my battery a few weeks ago. It was some lion brand with 350CCA. Went to super cheap and bought a century one with 420CCA as well as new terminals (couldn't find a battery which has got small terminals). The car runs fine now.

If you are buying a dell, its better to get the extended onsite warranty. if something stuffs up, you call dell, dell arranges a tech to come by and replace faulty parts.

So Who Bought An Ipad? And What Are Your Thoughts?
Atomnaya replied to Beer Baron's topic in PC & Games Discussion
Its probably not a huge step in tech, uses same OS as iphone, same sort of hardware etc, and like most apple products its all gimmick and marketing. No real world use for except to read ebooks maybe. -
Spec/tech wise its pretty impressive but IMO, for that amount of money i would prefer to buy a euro super car (ferrari, lambo etc). You drive the LFA into town and everybody (besides car enthusiast) will think 'Wow...what kind of car is that?? A lexus...WTF?'

Mitsubishi Electric Car Just Landed.
Atomnaya replied to Kujotk's topic in General Automotive Discussion
My biggest concern is the batteries that these electric cars use to store power. Like the majority of things manufactured, those things things will fail and need to be discarded. It probably takes more resources to discard the battery safely than a regular car would. -
cheers for the reply. Yes the battery is 3-4 years old. Basically it hasn't been replaced when i bought the car. Any recommendations on which battery as a replacement?

Hi, I seem to have an issue with the car battery. I had not driven my car for about a week. My third party car alarm still makes the beep, however the factory central locking (which can be found on the key itself) does not work. Basically all electrics do not work as well as the obvious, i can't start the car. Question is does this always happen when you don't drive the car for a long period of time. Also i'm thinking of replacing the car battery itself as the battery is really quite small compared to the other batteries i see. Can i buy a replacement from say SuperCheap or Autobarn and which model of battery. Cheers

There is another diablo type game called Alien Shooter 2. Instead of goblins and other dungeon creatures you get to kill aliens. Not as in depth as diablo but its pretty much the same gameplay.

Haven't touched my PSP in ages, its the old skool 'phat' version. Its got devhook installed but not the latest version. The only reason why i bought it was to play Ace Combat (which is an awesomesauce game if you like arcade flight sims). I also had the trusty CPS2 emulater so i can play those coin-op arcade games like armoured warrior and aliens vs predator. When i was really into the whole PSP thing, I also used to have a free app called PSPDisp which would allow you to use the PSP as a secondary PC monitor. My friend connected his hacked PSP to his PS3 and accidentally upgraded the PSP firmware. Now he has to get it downgraded using that battery technique.

Windows 7 - What Do You Guys Think Of It?
Atomnaya replied to KR4-GTR's topic in PC & Games Discussion
I have the RTM 64 Bit ultimate installed on my Dell XT2 since August. Smooth install from USB drive. Only grip are the drivers and the fact that occasionally when shutting down it needs to wait for an program to close. Other than that its very stable. I've also got the Windows 7 Touch pack installed and its awesome!!! Only drawback is that the current drivers only enable two point of contacts (RC version had 6 points). -
Hi, Sorry for sounding like a noob, but tonight the plastic cover underneath the engine came off whilst i was driving (i took it off and chucked it in the boot as it was dragging on the road). It was held up there by these plastic fasteners where you push in and it clips in. I don't know what these are called but from the looks of it they also hold/fasten the trim inside the boot as well. Does anybody know where i can get some spares of these? And what are they called? Also does it really matter if i don't have the plastic cover underneath the car? Cheers Edz BTW its an R34.

Spotted a fender bender with a Stagea (one of the newer models) and a camry just past the Moorebank shops just after lunch. If your on these forums, i hope there wasn't too much damage.

I was looking to buy a Nintendo Wii after christmas (with all the sales and such) and found out that all Xbox 360's and nintendo Wii's were all sold out. Only PS3's were in stock. The sales person said that the reason for this is because the PS3 was too expensive, pretty much double the price of the competition. Granted that the PS3 specs are way much better, the standard family looking for a console won't justify spending $600-$800 on a game console considering they could get one for half the price. I doubt that Sony will stop PS3 production (come to think of it, all sony products are crap...but that's my opinion) as they have a pretty big market share already. If they can reduce the price to say $400 then i'm sure sales will sky rocket.

Police Plan To Seize Cars From P-plate Speeders
Atomnaya replied to d00dz's topic in New South Wales

I was driving home with the wife in the passenger seat, boot full of toys and stuff from shopping, minding my own business driving the 60Km speed limit. The road was slightly wet, due to the rain and there wasn't many cars on the road. by the way i drive a R34 GTT stock. This is what happened in point form: 1. Driving on punchbowl rd just past intersection of belmore rd, a white R32 GTR with black rims with a red strip on the rims drives near me. 2. The R32 starts to be aggressive in that he's revving the engine wanting to race me. 3. We come up to the coronation pde intersection, the lights just turned yellow. I have the option to: a - Speed up and beat the lights or b - be a good citizen and slow down. 4. I chose B as i'm thinking the R32 would speed off but i was wrong, he decides to slow down to. 5. I'm thinking oh crap, he's his chance to show how good his car is against mine (mind you it was a nice looking GTR, but needed a wash). 6. At this time, the R32 was revving like crazy but when the lights went green his car stalled. 7. My wife and I laughed so hard i made sure the guys in the R32 heard us. 8. I drove off like a granny when the lights went. He finally caught up to me while i was turning into burwood rd. So if you see a white R32 GTR with black rims with a red stripe and a large sticker (of some performance place), point at them and laugh!!!! P.S if anyone who is on the forums with the above car i'm sorry i laughed so hard.

Case: Aopen H600A Motherboard: AsusP4C800-E CPU & CPU Cooler: P4 [email protected] Northwood, Zalman CPU cooler RAM: 2Gb Corsair XMS-3200 Monitor: HP 17" LCD Graphics Card: Leadtek 7600GT 256MB HDD(s): 1 x 160GB, 1 x 320GB, 1 x 80GB OS Used: Windows Vista Ultimate Peripherals: MS Intellimouse, Honeywell AT keyboard, Creative 2.1 speakers Haven't upgraded in about 5 years. Still plays all the current games on either low to medium graphics. Used to have RAID 0 but one of the HDD kept failing (i think due to the case vibration). Case is riced up with neons and LED fans. Still use a CD burner, DVD drive and DVD burner. This PC has been running pretty much 24/7 overclocked since i got it, its all old school now. The video card crapped itself about a year ago. Do you know how hard it is to find an AGP card nowadays?

lol, everytime i see or hear the word tesla it reminds me of the PC game Red Alert and the russian tesla coil. Just imagine a car which guarantees to give you an electric shock when you leave the car.

Help Needed! People Are Stuffing Me Around!
Atomnaya replied to tmg's topic in General Automotive Discussion
When i bought my car, i had this 3 month warranty thing where if anything goes wrong with the car the dealer had to fix it no matter how trivial the issue was. Apparently this is compulsory for all second hand cars. BTW this is in NSW so not too sure about other states. I just don't remember what its called. -
Hi, I have a feeling that that my battery could be on the way out or its running out of charge. I'm a bit of a noob but the symptoms include: 1. Whenever i start the car in the morning, it stutters for about 3 seconds then it goes fine. The other day i started the car but this time it stuttered for a while until i slightly pressed on the accelerator to get the revs up then it was fine. 2. Whenever i flash my highbeams i can see my battery voltage go down then up again. I can hear the engine change noise. 3. Whenever i have the aircon on and i'm at the lights, sometimes the battery voltage meter will drop then go fine again. Just wondering if this has something to do with the battery or something else? I have a R34 GTT auto Cheers

I'm playing Fallout 3 at the moment too. I get the occasional crash, maybe once a day and this is on a 4 year old rig (P4 [email protected], Windows Vista). The only dissappointment with the game is that the max level you can get is level 20 which sucks, as i have only explored half the map.
