Ever Felt Like Drawing With Texta On Your Car?
Atomnaya replied to funkymonkey's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I hope its one of those permament markers cos if it rains it'll be a panda mobile. -
Yeah, from the inner west area too. Just the other day a Ford Festiva which was parked on our street got its drivers side window smashed. They really messed up your centre console/dash. From the pics it looks like they ripped half of it out. Hope they catch the buggers

I know this sounds strange, but you may want to try using an optical cable from the tv and into your receiver. On ur pana you should have an optical output. The reason why its strange is cos although your HDMI is both sound and video, its only sound and video for watching DVD's. If your watching HDTV, then you just need the optical out from TV and into your receiver. Again, this is just a suggestion, don't know if it'll work.

Yeah i have the autobot badge on the front (when i bought my car, it didn't have a front badge). Bought it off ebay too. Just need one at the back. I'll see if i can post a pic up...

I have a Linksys WAG54G wireless modem/router. Pretty much everything is connected to it wirelessly, my PC, laptop and media centre. Its easy to setup and can be configured to your needs (i.e. security etc) I wound't pay more than $150 for a modem/router combination. If your happy with your modem, just buy a wireless router as you said. But it seems like these things are a dying breed as more people tend to buy the modem/router combination. Some brands include D-link, Netgear, belkin and Linksys. Do a google search as some brands will be more user friendly than others, but will sacrifice certain features like security.

+1 Audiograbber. Correct me if i'm wrong but its also free too

I have a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz overclocked to 3.2Ghz and 7600GT. Crysis is playable with all settings low and at 1024x768 It's definetly a good and challenging game. I wouldn't mind upgrading or buying a new PC just to see all the eye candy.
-
Now playing Crysis. Very hardware intensive game. Reminds me of far cry a bit. Was playing Gears of War, never liked the whole future genre. At some points quite scary. Both are on PC.

I remember the first dealer i went to look for my R34, it was on parra rd as well. He wouldn't let me test drive a car that i had looked at on the car website, unless i was willing to buy. In short he gave me his whole life story, story about the company blah blah blah. The funny thing was, the car was stated as being a GT-T, but when i looked inside the interior, it did not have the centre guage cluster (i'm sure only turbo had the centre cluster and the non turbo had nothing). The last thing i said to him was 'No test drive, i won't recommend and i won't come back'

What Was Your Childhood Hero Car?
Atomnaya replied to lingeringsoul's topic in General Automotive Discussion
KITT from Knight Rider, i still have the match box car of it and the lambo countach. -
stock r34 gt-t and i get around 340Km when the needle reaches the last quarter part. That's usually when i fill up (i think its around the 45L). This is city granny spec driving, occasional boost and air con.

Finished FEAR: Perseus Mandate on PC. Pretty easy on Moderate difficulty, not as scary as the first game.

Hi, I've searched the forums but couldn't find anything regarding this topic. What is the best way to get rid of scratches on the paint and paint which has been chipped away due to small rocks etc? Cheers

LOL, i was in the same boat as you, same price range too...but unlike you I had my way and got the skyline (had some help with mother-in-law to persude her to give in). Some things that I had to look for was must be automatic (she can't drive manual), must have some oommph (turbo, supercharger etc) and relatively small so she can park it (the R34 was slightly smaller than her old Magna). Some cars that we both looked at, all 2nd hand: - Lancer EVO: she didn't like the 'handbag' stock spoiler - Mini S cooper: 2nd hand auto was way too expensive, i think they were like 40K - Suburu WRX: didn't know if previous user would have thrashed it or not plus too common - Ford XR5 - Lexus IS200 - Mercedes C class - New Toyota Corolla: My old car was a corolla so didn't want to have another one. - Toyota Celica I did tell her however that the next car we get is totally up to her to decide. IMO, try a lancer EVO, even though its 4 doors they look good.

What Five Cars Would You Want In Your Garage?
Atomnaya replied to geno8r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
1. R34 GTR Z-Tune 2. R35 GTR 3. Lambo Reventon (i think that's what its called) 4. Hummer (Generation 1) 5. Lancer Evo for daily use. -
This game sucked balls. I didn't realise that it was pretty much track racing. "Taking street racing of the streets"...the blurb says once you install it. I was hoping for something like Underground/Carbon. Even the first need for speed (love the DOS era games) was street racing.

Hi fellas, When my car hasn't been driven for about 1-2 days, the enigne seems to struggle a bit after i turn the key, then it will be fine. It sounds like its turning ok, but the last split second it sorta chugs a bit, then its fine. After driving it for about 30 min, turn the car off then on again, it has no probs. I've also noticed that whenever i turn it on (again when i haven't driven it for 1-2 days), it seems to get high revs, around 1200-1300 then goes down to 1000. When idling at the lights its below 1000. Does anyone else's car sound like this? I drive pretty much granny spec and the car goes fine when driving. ATM no mods, everything stock. Anyone want to throw me some ideas around me? Cheers

+1 for the xenons. I bought mine from the dealers and they still had them in. Yeah, check the body, namely engine bay and the boot area, make sure that none of the panels have been replaced. One other thing which i should have checked with my car were the tyres. They gave me great tyres on dry, but when its wet its a whole different story. I don't if anybody agrees, but i tried to buy a the car as stock as possible and preferably first aussie owner. Again I think its just my pedanticness (spelling). Some people prefer buying from a dealer, some private. I did an NRMA car check as well.

I just bought the model below your one P5950IB for my R34. I bought it cheap locally, connections from Strathfield car radios and installed with a case of beer as payment. Dodgy i know As for the antenna, i don't know about that, as the R34 antenna is on the back windscreen? best to find out about the antenna thing buy downloading the manual from the Pioneer website. Apparently the installer told me that i would need to buy some sort of adapter to convert the radio signals. This adapter should be like $15. I didn't need to install it cos he told me one was already installed. Could have been installed for compliance?

Thinking Of Getting A Jeep Wrangler
Atomnaya replied to HotPlates's topic in General Automotive Discussion
My mate was looking at buying last year. We test drove one and found that its not really that comfortable and its quite loud in the cabin. The pros are that you can practically take all doors off and just hose the interior down. A unique feature i found was that the wind shield can flip down onto the bonnet. -
When i think kids....i think 4 door car. It will be hell to put down the passeneger seat everytime your kids get in and out, in and out... Plus the Evo 7 looks pretty damn good.

Thanks for the replies guys. So just regarding the boost answer, everytime you accelerate you would be utilising the turbo? hmm...only AU$34,000 brand new... its either the R34 keeps there value or Japan gets them really cheap. I thought it would be around the $40K mark. As for the performance quastion, i just want to know what it is compared to on paper (i.e. just looking at the specs what is it compared to without driving it). Cheers

Hi, 1. Was reading on posts on the forums and some say that they 'boost' there car, whats does this mean? 2. How much was the R34 GT-T original price when it first came out (stock of course)? 3. For a stock R34 GT-T, what car is it compared to performance wise? Cheers

Car has been excellent, although i've been driving it like a granny....wife is usually in the car with me and she would sell the car straight away if I drove it hard Just got installed the immobiliser and alarm so i do have that peace of mind. The first week all i had was the factory central locking, club lock and plenty of prayers to make sure no-one steals my baby. I'll post up some pics soon
