Yeah saw a silver one and a maroone one, both R33 with the hood above the air filter.
-
Is it really worth it Inark to sell your Skyline and buy a REX for 6 months and change again to an R34?? You my as well just keep it for 6 mths to save up for mods for you R34 hehe. Or do you just want the Rex to get used to 4wdriving?!

Hi guys, Just wanted to know if it is possible to cut the original bonnet to have a scoop/vent similar to those ones you see on the Evos? I saw 2 R33 Skylines today with a air scoop sitting above the air filter. Which gave me a similar idea to do for my car as I still have the standar i/cooler and can't run a cai. But I don't really like those hood sticking up (no offence), so just want to know is it possible to install a vent instead like the ones you see on Evos and even on R34s.

Yeah just visit Jetspeed, I think they are down at Clayton now. But those side indicaters cost a fair bit. Check out Unique autosport, they stock those GTR front indicaters and I remember the cost something like $200 bucks. Or you can do what I did and hook up the front indicaters to the parkers light instead. But you will have to some how cut the hole bigger to fit the right blubs. Or it will just blink damn fast because of the different voltage.

I though it was just my computer. I like it better when there was a quick reply, as you can recheck other people's post.

I was lucky and brough it off a mate that just came back from oversea. But even if you check out some of the internet sites, they are pretty cheap. Now all I have to do is get the thing installed and keep all you guys posted. Hopefully I will be able to gain about 30kw and a better mid range torque with the ignition control.

Yeah the rain on Sunday was crazy with water all over the road. Glad you are ok mate. Accidents always give you a shake up but as long as you weren't hurt.

Buddy Club P1 Racing wheels on R32 GTST?
skylineakt replied to Hawker180's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I got the Tit Silver on my blk R33 and they look mad. I think all the colours look nice, just depending on your taste. I think white will make your car look cleaner, but than white P1 would need a lot of cleaning. Tit silver or Hyper gold would make your car more like a drift car. What do you reckon?! I got my as an offset with 17x8 at the front and 17x9 at the back. I think that's how they come as and I got mine just over $2k with Falken tyres. -
I find that the E-manage is getting cheaper and cheaper. Not sure if it is because of our $$ curency or that no one buying it. I think you can get a bargain E-manage if you are lucky. Like I got mine with all the optional harness for $550 brand new. S-AFC2 the cheapest I have seen is about $450 so for an $100 bucks extra I think it was worth it. In term of tuning, if the e-manage can handle the ignition harness with the auto box, I will be able to modify the ignition controls as well. Plus more points to play with than the SAFC2 on the fuel curve.

Which is the ultimate? Supra VS GT-R
skylineakt replied to 8thSIN's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Looking at the results the Skyline beats the Supra in every way. But than again could be the driver. We will never know. -
Which is the ultimate? Supra VS GT-R
skylineakt replied to 8thSIN's topic in General Automotive Discussion
HPI did a story on Supra and Skyline once and compared the two. I remember they were saying that in the US Supras make some big powers. And for the same modifications you make on a Supra and a Skyline, the Supra will actually create more power. But than again as mention above, Skyline has the advantage of Attessa. HPI also did a Supra man vs Skyline man which I though was really good. But still in looks, handling and heritage SKYLINE IS STILL THE KING!! hehe -
My reason is the same as strutto. Money and I had trouble with my last manual car. Completely lost 3rd gear and just couldn't be bother with manual in the traffic. But if my auto dies on me I will change it over to manual.
-
That is very interesting. People reckons that the R33 ecu can't be chipped properly. But by the sound of it your's has been chipped. I know some people will actually swap R32 ecu over so they can chip it. I need some money too before I can install my e-manage. I spoke to guys from BMT and everything sounds pretty positive at the moment.
-
Well Craz0 was saying something about finding the TPS pins to hook it up. I don't think there is major problems running a PFC with an auto, except for some bugs. Like it will still changes gears etc. But it is hard to say about the long terms results.
-
OK hehe I was a bit confused about what AutoTrust post. I though he swaped the gearbox's ecu, but he just swapped the main car's ecu to run with the auto's ecu. AutoTrust you mention that your manual ecu is modified. How? I know that the R32 can be chiped and stuff but I have heard nothing for the R33.
-
Yeah but like the auto actually have its own ecu for the gearbox. The manual gearbox doesn't have its own ecu, does it??
-
I just brought myself an e-manage. Haven't install it yet but will keep you guys posted. That is why I started this thread, to find out if anyone else here have one installed already. All the ones you mentions are the only ones I know. We don't have much choice to we. Bit sad considering the FASTERS WREX IS AN AUTO!! hehe
-
I didn't even know there is a manual ecu. So AutoTrust did you just did a swap with the gearbox's ecu?? Sorry dude just a bit confused. Apprantely there is a problem with the PFC not communicating properly the TPS and something else across to the auto ecu.
-
See that is why I went for piggy back instead of the PFC, car is auto. It is still not 100% certain that the PFC work with the auto ecu. Craz0 mention it has worked but there is still some errors or bugs. Like the flashing of the power/snow switch. Guys in the states has used an E-manage with a R34 (auto) and it was a success. More info can be found at the yahoo group - emanage. They got heaps of info there about the e-manage but not much on e-manage with skylines.

SERIOUS!! I didn't even think about it sucking too much dust into the engine!! Damn shouldn't of have told me hehe. It is cool. Everything is still running fine. Is the hose the original hose JimX?? Mine old hose was very stiff and it just keep spliting. Maybe better just to change to new rubber hose instead.
-
That happened to me too JimX. The vacuum was sitting very high even when decelarating. The cuprit was the rubber hose that joins the T pipe. It was split pretty bad. So I cut it back and reconnected. 2 weeks later runing high boost it happened again, split, cut back and reconnect 1 week later split, cut back and reconnect but to the point where I was running out of rubber hose. So I decide to buy some new hose altogether and refited. Now no problems with it splitting when running higher boost. If this becomes a reaccuring thing JimX, I think you should just replace the rubber hose. Cheers
-
That's pretty good with a 30 rwkws gain. I guess all the other mods also help with the gain. Advan use alot of Trust parts don't they? Are they like the Aust distributor for Trust?? Might give them a buzz to find out more and what to expect. Thanks

I voted Saturday afternoon. This way if after the meeting, anyone want to go for a quick cruise or something, we have the time.
-
haha It is a bit like the Melbourne Cup!! BRING IT HOME!! But if we organise the Dyno day together you will still have to go to the other side of the city Inark?!?
-
Yeah I have already pm Phat32 to see if we can come up with something. Will be good to have a Dyno & Kart day together. AusKarts opens till pretty late so we could even do the go-kart in the evening. Also give a change for everyone to get together for Jamezilla to have a proper meeting and know what's happening with the club.
