Advice on Boost Gauge and Connection
skylineakt replied to skylineakt's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nar no probs rs73. I have an Autometer for the boost gauge and i'm using a Turbosmart single stage to tune the boost. At the moment i'm running about 11psi on high boost. Normaly it is just on standard boost. I think the autometer does a pretty good job considering the price of it with some of the japanese brand. Sorry I can't excite you with all the expensive gear haha. I was pretty broken then and still are now hehe. What boost gauge where you thinking of getting? Maybe should look out for second hand ones. -
AusKarts looks really professional from their website. I don't know how the track is as I have never been there. Have any of you guys been there?
-
I would of though an indoor would be better so the weather wouldn't affect the event. Even tho it would be fun hammering in the rain on a wet track haha. Does one of these little thing drift good?!?! Not sure guys, does anyone else have a preference to whether it is outdoor or indoor?!?! I only know of one that is outdoor and that's down Keysborough way. But I remember the karts were pretty old as well.

Cool, I spoke to Lisa the other day when I called up and she said we need to book in about 2 weeks advance. I will make a booking soon, as long I have the minimum amount of people or we might do an 'arrive and drive' session.

Good luck craz0. Keep us posted about your little experience. The thing is if the Wolf guys can manage to communicate between the auto ecu to their ecu, I don't see why the Powerfc would be a problem. Maybe you just need to find the right guy and workshop to do it. Or maybe that the Powerfc is not as easily modified as the Wolf unit is. Should be interesting, as I'm in the process of getting an E-manage. It also has a problem with the auto with the ignition function, but I might have the right guy to solve it?!?

The time of the event is still not decided yet, we could do a night event. Just which ever suit people more. Should we make it a day or night even?? Any suggestions?!?
-
COOL!! I'll be interested, but let me know when is it. Does the car have to be very, very clean, like a few pint dents and some scraches here and there does it matter?? Or can we just come along and watch?!?! Are there going to be some gal models?!?
-
Yeah, the 30 lapper might be cheaper for some people with a tight budget, like me !! hehe. You still have some stickers and t-shirt yeah?!?! Give them away as prizes hehe Maybe we just need to shrink some of the XLarge ones. It will even be better if we can have a cruise before or after the Go-Kart, but I don't really know any good route. The place closes on 12 midnight so we have plenty of time.

Thanks for the more info phorj. Don't forget to vote guys, so we have a better idea who is interested in participating.
-
Guys I just couldn't wait. So I started a new tread in the Event section for the Go-Kart day. Check it out and post your vote so I can get some numbers!! Cheers

Hi Guys/Girls, I'm thinking of organising a Go-Kart Day for us to have a fang around the track!! This is probably the only chance I get to bet some you guys here because my car is too damn slow hehe. There seem to be a few events and things on in the next few weeks. So I was thinking having it on 1st of November. Just want to see if anyone is interested on this social event. I was thinking maybe a cruise before hand or after the go-kart. There are a few different races we can do, depend on how many people we can get and how much people are willing to pay. The place will be at AustKarts in Port Melbourne. I would like to thanks 5 litres eater for providing info on this event. I'm going to contact them directly once I get some figures and numbers. This is one of the event I was looking at - Australian "Melbourne" Grand Prix: 10-14 People 45min event, 10min practice, 2 race heats and a final with a trophy for the winner. ($65 per person, Min fee $650) or we can rock up for "arrive and drive" session where it is cheaper but with no trophy. (per person) 18 laps - $25 25 - $34 30 - $40 40 - $48 50 - $57.50 60 - $65 Probably best to go for 30 laps if we take this option. So basically: Location: AustKarts (Port Melbourne) Date: 01/11/03 Time: will finalise later Cheers Aaron

Thanks for the info 5 litre eater. Should I start a new tread and start letting people know?? There seem to be a few other events and things going on in the next few weeks - Skid pan day, Phillip Island, Heathcote etc etc. Might have to wait till next month. What do you guys think??
-
Guys I think we should go ahead with the Go-Kart Day!! Once I get some more info from 5 litre eater, will organise something. COOL!!

Sorry James would love to make but can't get out of work. I'll make it next time if I can. When/where will the next week be at?? -
My car has been broken into & stripped while at the mechanics!!
skylineakt replied to RBN1's topic in Victoria
Bro what is completely $%k!! The mechanic should be at 100% fault. You left your baby for them to care, I think it is their liability to take care of it. From working on it to storing it properly. -
There is a legeng that it is able to cope!!
-
Looks like Castrol is out!! Guess next time I'll have to try the new Mobil 1. It is the only other one I was thinking about using. Thanks Busky for pointing that out. Cheers
-
Man that is a bloody nice car!! Looks very clean. Is the seats leather?? Looks like it from the pic. Can I call you BIG BROTHER, since I got a black gtst haha. Cool number plates too. Did you get to keep them??
-
Yeah see I'm currently using the Castrol R 5w-30 which is about $60 bucks from what I can remember last time. The 0w-40, i think is the new one that came out and I think it is about $80 bucks!! I was told that by the guy at the shop, even tho Castrol R 5w-30 says full synth on the label, it is still not 100% full synth. There are still other minerals in there?!?! Not sure was he just trying to sell me the more expensive oil.
-
haha not sure LeonT. Maybe it was *beep* f$5k *beep* back at you!! hehe Maybe the REX was very sensitive to verbal abuse?!?!
-
I think microwave sensors does the same thing. Not sure if it is the same as the microtech proximity thing tho. I remember reading my alarm manual and there were options for internal and external microwave sensors. This just sense movement insider and outside. You can set the proximity of the outside movement, when to beep. LeonT. I'm not sure if there is an alarm that senses noise in car. Maybe your mates Rex exhaust was loud and the alarm was sensitive to the vibration. My car sets off alarms in carparks when it echo real bad. Not sure about the alarm telling you to 'step back', you might come back with a big key mark along your care. But it is pretty cool.
-
Yeah I think I'll change my oil rating next time when it is due for an oil change. XX-40w, is Mobil 1 the only oil that comes in this rating and full systhetic?? I know Castrol don't have a xx-40w rating and I'm not sure if the others are full systhetic.
-
So the older the car or more ks, we should use higher XXwts?? I'm currently using 30wts and feels alright. And my car has done like 160 thousands ks. Previously I was using 0w-60 oils but just found it a bit shakey at idle.
-
yeah me to with the idle with 0w XX oils. It doen't idle as smooth and keep setting off my alarm. Now got 5w XX and it is much smoother.
