  1. Thanks, overly long projects become almost a "re-engagement" with the idea, as I've aged and even totally forgotten what drove me to start it. In my life, the car well predates my youngest daughter, my career and address etc. have changed. On a basic level just "copping it" ( a slagging) over this car from wife and family has been tough, and wouldn't have happened if this was a more classic project, say HK Monaro, SS Hatch. A positive is that technology for imports has improved, and the build will be progressed differently because of that and with the passage of time/priorities in my life. I hope the bare metal r32 shell will be a solid foundation for the rest of its contents. If it continues this slowly it will be eligible for "historic registration".
  2. Gradual progression to metal GTR rear on GTST. Not simple.
  3. It's a chance for the panel shop block to unblock. The project has gone on so long, and I have been driving non Nissan nissan powered cars(HSV VF senator, Audi TDI), the keen attitude of the panel shop from nowhere caught me unawares, life is happy without an r32, I've totally lost interest, but after 5 years it seems like movement at the station depending on what now feels like paying black mail money (reasonable trade rates), but then in 5 years, crazy stuff has happened with house prices (in my favour). The value of old aussie cars is now insane, financially. I wish I'd paid him to work on such rather than the r32. Any way it's a critical stage, go metal widebody or part it out. Even if the project was crushed the panel beater has taken so long I've outgrown the r32. I am old compared to when he got the car. Talks with wife and family verify I am insane, and can just buy a registered car. But here it is ready to be metal wide bodied. A search of the accounts reveals black mail money, my inclination is that completed cars are so cheap as to leave enough in reserve to just buy one.
  4. +1 Stagea, or GTR with all wheel drive diff in sump. The NEO version of the Stagea might be nice. Doubling the power will bring up the need for diff brake and suspension upgrades.....
  5. Dr at Psychiatry mental health, justice health, alcohol and drugs at Canberra Hospital.
  6. I can certainly relate to running a business and heavy donations to the ATO, but it beats an audit. The car will go to the GTR front, the panel beater sourced a very bent donor R32 GTR car, as well as what I sourced piecemeal. Regarding the GTR rear quarters both inner and outer guard work is being done, partly to make room for wider wheel clearance and wheel/tyre fitment choices. I don't plan to badge the car GTR, the current aspirations are a Quaife front diff and transfer case mods. If it heads to registration the idea is what the Senator is vs a GTS, a GTE vs a GT or what is really is a GTS 4 vs a GTR. The colour will also be a non GTR colour. Naturally this is a slow project and work and family issues come ahead of it.
  7. The panel shop can be where projects die. Some signs of a start with the steel GTR widebody going on.
  8. Very apples and oranges, from an ex-F6 and gts4 owner. The XR turbo are ready to roll....(carry the family on long trips), boost etc, but despite good suspension make them boat like (due to the good but heavy sedan body). An r32 is a relic, one that you conquered (great combo using a responsive neo) but for a passionate driver, but the small nimble and agile r32, in need of the fettling and patience a now old car requires.....has rewards separate to a boat. You once posted about the joy of the hills, and Rolls you now post about boats, perhaps you will live up to your avatar name and a Rolls will be your next post such as a turbo Bentley.
  9. Then this one is obviously more deserving of being a cover car, for the difficulty of installing the full drive train, but it may not end with the bling factor that street machine publishes,
