  1. Normal block will not swap with AWD block.
  2. That would be a good choice! I like the mechanical over bling look.
  3. At the moment I drive a Ford F6 while my Skyline is being restored. The XR6turbo/F6 cars have the bogan easy parts supply and servicing, but many of the turbo car interesting features - "boost". I thinks it's somewhere in the middle. Your money drive what you want.
  4. I'm not in the motor trade, so the whole right manifold and turbo thing is hard. A lot of cars and posts about 6 Boost, so I went with Kyles ideas, and have found him very pleasant to deal with. The twin scroll idea was from Kyle having been doing some recent installs. Currently, instead of the big k dollars, I've had the project fun of chasing down smaller parts. I've bought a GTR bonnet off this forum, that is in quite pristine condition for the "open grille" look. Other bits being sourced etc. CV Joints, petrol flap etc etc.
  5. Reading this, I'm glad mine didn't have the roof. However you'll have a nice roof to enjoy when it's done. Does the sunroof clash with your deck height? Back to your earlier thread are you going to leave the body GTS4 narrow? You are going for decent brakes, which will lead to decent sized wheels and rubber. By the way we've spoken on project speed, I've always preferred to take a little time. For me taking time helps, getting it right, learning, and reflecting on where I want it to end up.
  6. Any one have experience with Plazaman plenums?
  7. Good work, I'm plodding on with similar to a cheap GTS4 over a multiple k dollar GTR.
  8. GT35 twin scroll, don't actually know the housing, but thought I'd prefer twin scroll for any GT35. This is a real time (slow) real project, and I'll just wear the results.
  9. So far, as I understand it GT35 twin scroll turbo, split pulse manifold with twin 38mm gates.
  10. That's a nice surprise. Good to see how "stuck into" this project you are.
  11. Is it bolted to and including the awd sump?
  12. I guess we are both pioneers at putting money into GTS4s (LOL). I see the JATCO automatic as part of my KISS principle, (have read many problems for big hp for clutches and manual gear boxes), yes it will need a full over haul, upgrade and quality trans cooler, as you suggest, especially if the GT35 twin scroll set up delivers. What turbo are you planing for your 25/30?
  13. I have the split pulse manifold built by Kyle at 6 boost, and the split pulse turbo on order from USA, naturally i have to complete the project to find out the "real world" results in spool and response. I'm a split pulse believer, but will wait and see on my own car.
  14. The interesting suggestion from Kyle at 6 boost which is at the heart of this build, is the manifold/turbo choice. It's an attempt at the eternal power/response equation. The way it's going that is well underway is, split pulse manifold, twin waste-gates, twin scroll turbo in GT35 size. Speaking to Kyle today, the manifold is built, and the turbo is on the way from the USA. The hope is that the twin scroll will give 500rpm of earlier spool, as will the vct, if all else fails I'll make up for loss of spool using the converter.
  15. Why I'm persevearing with the twin scroll idea, for a while for my set up.
  16. serious suggestion is ae86 Corolla. Small agile etc. Left field suggestion is Aussie r31, skyline cheap to buy find parts for etc
  17. Your thread is already quite an eye opener from just showing what's available new. You're showing big signs of love and committment to your build.
  18. Perhaps I should say some Garrett turbos
  19. Nothing like public humiliation to motivate spending and upgrading then. The drags in a manual are still technique dependant.
  20. HKS kits great, what about the price. Garrett turbos will require manifold mods to stock or a dedicated manifold, lines or a "kit" bringing it up towards the HKS price. A high flow means stock lines heat shields, appearence when pulled over or at your first re rego.
  21. Some cars, mainly factory have a "precat" before the cat especially to help with start up emissions.
  22. That sounds generous, logical, cost effective and sane. I was hoping he'd want to finish with something more like this...
  23. What about just going to the drags as is, work on reaction time, gear changing etc. Cheapest possible fun, and set up the car for the time.
  24. I agree he needs to state the goal, if it's just 200kw atw, then na plus t or stock stagea front cut and minor up grades.
