So I've had the car back and done a few hundred ks of running in of the rebuilt gearbox and new Nismo Coppermix Twin. Now I find I cant dump the clutch and launch the car like I used to with the stock clutch. I tried dumping twice, 5k and 7k and both drop to 2k as soon as I lift my foot off the clutch pedal and it doesnt have the shooting off feeling as the stock one. My question is, is launching a twin plate the same as the stock? My mechanic told me to load up the drivetrain by slightly letting off the clutch pedal before dumping. I will try that but it still puzzled me why its not working by simply dumping. I do not have a lot of experience launching the GTR or any car for that matter. Including the 2 with the new clutch, I only did a total of 5 times so pardon me if I sound noob. I hope there's nothing wrong with the clutch or the gearbox. Everything feels normal and I'm not getting anything out of the ordinary.

Yes your eye needs to be stable before even consider doing it. I had mine done about 3years ago and still good. Left eye is perfect but around 80 on the other one. But I still can see quite well without glasses now. They were 500 each before. I got mine done in Singapore and my Sister through the same doctor but she's perfect for both. The doctor told me the eye is 1 of the most complex organ and thus theres no such thing as 100% or even close. I will strongly recommend doing it in Singapore because 3 out of 5 specky friends I got got theirs done. What I am suggesting here is a lot of people do it in Singapore and doctors will be more experienced. It only cost around 2.5k SGD for both my eyes with the blade. Of course you pay a bit more for the laser cutting of the top layer of the eye. I was told they dont have much difference. The night vision problem is probably whats known as halo. Its the most common problem but not everyone get them. And even if you do, they might go away after awhile. I didnt. I have yet to know anyone that got worse than that or even blind though. During the process, you will not feel any pain. But its very weird and disturbing after they cut the top layer and flip it over before shooting your eye with the laser. After all shooting is done, the flip the top layer back and is left to heal. you will be "blinded" for the next couple of hours and is expected to take the sleeping pill and go straight to bed after you reach home. Everything will be clear when you wake up after a couple of hours. The next week is crucial. You MUST not do anything that the doctor say you shouldnt (e.g. rubbing, letting water in, flying, soaping around the eye etc). I even stop drinking during that period because I get bloodshot eyes after drinking but the doctor said that shouldnt matter. Good luck to everyone that's planning to do it. PS: A point to note is you can never wear contacts again if your vision becomes poorer over time (or at least that what I was told).

Just got the Nismo Coppermix Twinplate standard version installed on my car. Love the soft pedal but like everyone else said, its still a twin so you cant really ride much. I have yet to test launching it but was told it'll take some serious abusing.

Anyone knows the size of the wiper for R33 GTR or R33 (assuming they're the same)?? I'm in currently in china for work and will be leaving next week and they have the bosch aero twin for around 110RMB (less than 20AUD) for both. The closest I found was this but its not really clear which is suppose to be right. Sounds like it could be either 21" or 22" though. ?? I always thought without an ecu thats capable of "launch control", you can never manually launch with boost. Am I wrong?

So what you're saying is the launch control of say Vipec or PFC Dejetro/Pro are 2 step limiter which limits the rev but launch without boost. Whereas something that has anti-lag capability gives you the option of launching with boost? If so, whats the product that allows you to do that? I'm not trying to be a smartass but this is something I'm unsure and would love to know or have some clarification about. Cheers

Very nice. I still dont quite get the perfect launching technique with the GTR though. Everyone seems to tell me to dump it at around 6500-7000 but this thread says 1/2 clutch with handbrake.

+1 on the micra. The old 1 feels thin and light (doesnt feel very safe in 1) but the new one looks heavier but I've never driven the new one though.

Pick a car to get you from point A to B with the best holding value (bit of research there but Toyota seems likely) within the life of the lease should be good. I'll need to know more about FBT to make a more judgemental comment though.

And also if you can manage to sell the car at a higher price comparing to the balloon at the end of the lease. Surprisingly we had someone coming in to talk about it this week. I still dont quite understand the whole FBT thing. But looks like you're paying tax instead of paying the bank interest.
