Nah. If I knew about the Supra cruise I would have made myself free but already have plans. How did the cruise go?
-
I havent have any problem with cops down the coast but if you're going to the spit on a Sunday, that might be a different story.

I think you must have gotten my twin. Theres a white 78 GTR going around which kinda look identical to mine... Would be keen to know that guy though. Hahaha.

I second its place dependent + luck. I went to the servo to fuel up a couple of weeks ago and guess what? Highway patrol pull in and grab a donut and decided to check my license and pop my bonnet when I'm done fuelling... Ask me dumb questions like Cop: " this is turbo?" Me: "yes twin" Cop: "any bloww off valve?" Me: "of course, all turbo have blow off valve" Cop: "can you rev the engine for me?" Me: of course" Disappointed without hearing the "pssst" sound and gave up....

Detailing And Car Care De-Coded

Yea I read on the Mother forum that the Top Coat is the final touch to the detail process and you dont need to add anything else on top of it. I'm thinking of using the cleaner carnauba prior to that though. And guess what? It looks like its gonna rain! Maybe I should do it another day... -

Thanks for clearing that up. I think the nice finish I got was probably from Mother's Top Coat (glossy and water will dribble down). I wonder if that thing works like wax (helps protect from weather). If not I'll have to drop by Autobarn tomorrow and grab a wax. Any recommendation for off the shelf wax? I really wanna get it done tomorrow. ZZzzzz. -

Cool. Looks like I cant do the polish bit then. I've heard bad stories about trying to do them if you're unsure (making more swirl marks rather than getting rid of them!). I've got another product from Mother which is a pre wax cleaner which I use prior to sealant. Sounds like the process which I have been doing with the products I have is correct. I'm pretty happy with the results all along but just wasnt sure if the steps were right. Only downside is the swirl marks are kinda still visible but cant really complain since I having done the cutting step. My last question is can that cleaner wax I have be used after the sealant or should it be before...? Cheers for the explanation dude. -

Hi Mitch, From reading the thread, I've gathered that the steps are 1) Wash 2) Clay 3) Wash 4) Polish 5) Sealant 6) Wax I have some Mother products which I do not know if they're what I think they are. http://www.mothers.com/02_products/05701-05500.html ====> Cleaner Wax, Can this be step 6 or could be a replacement for step 4? On the Mother website it looks like this is the first step following sealant and Carnauba wax. If so, I'm missing the final Carnuaba wax. http://www.autoglym.com/enGB/product-proddetail.asp?v06VQ=HD ====> Auto Glym Resin Polish, step 4? Does it mean I have a double up for step 4 due to the resin polish and cleaner wax? I'm just trying to work out what I am missing for a proper full detail. Cheers. -
The offset would be based on the product mould itself... I dont think they're gonna make 1 specially for you though. Thats assuming that offset is not available in that size but looks like they do. I only know 18s doesnt come in that size. 19x9.5 +22 will have lesser dish. 18x9.5+22 $3350 DELIVERED WITH RAYS NUTS 18X10+20 $3350 DELIVERED WITH RAYS NUTS 18X10.5+15 $3400 DELIVERED WITH RAYS NUTS 18X11+18 $3450 DELIVERED WITH RAYS NUTS 19X9.5+22 $3450 DELIVERED WITH RAYS NUTS 19X10.5+22 $3550 DELIVERED WITH RAYS NUTS 19X10.5+12 $3600 DELIVERED WITH RAYS NUTS

I remember coming across a website which allows you to change the car and rim colour for viewing but couldnt find the link anymore. Anyone saved that? Sorry but I did try searching!

I thought 10.5" only comes in +15? Its the 9.5" that comes in +12 I think. I might be wrong. Are you trying to say you want the 19" size but with the spokes fully extended out? Is that gonna be a low positive offset or just a total difference design (something like the GTC face 1 and 2?). In any case thats probably not gonna happen. I would recommend 18x10.5 +15 if anything due to the larger size tyre you can fit and also personally I find 19s too big unless its a show car.

+1 for Jesse. If you're willing to wait, its worth it!

I've checked on that before on the custom website. Its only when you do get hit by duty, the freight and misc. cost will be taken into account for calculation of import duty and GST. My previous 2 purchase from them were both 900+ AUD excluding freight. This is with the cost etc declared too. If I was wrong, I would be very lucky to not get taxed then. Heres the quote VoTI is not the same as Customs Value. http://www.customs.gov.au/site/importingGoodsByPostFaq.asp#HowisdutyandGSTcalculated The rate can be obtained from the custom as well if you called them up (pretty handy).

Guys, I just blew 1 of my tyre and need a replacement. Just wanna check if anyone wants to share the freight (around 250-270USD for 3 decent sized tyres). I am looking at placing an order by Thursday (depends on when I get the quote etc) and hopefully by mid of next week the tyres should be here (normally takes 5working days). The cost of my tyre is 330USD and for us to not get hit by import duty, the total purchase price MUST be below 1000AUD (excluding freight). Drop me a PM if anyone's keen (preferably with your mobile as well). Cheers.

SAU QLD is hosting a drag day tomorrow at Willowbank. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/361846-sau-club-drag-day-2011-30th-july/ Everyone's welcome to come. -
Seriously I think theres a lot of threads with clutch info for a GTR in that power range. But off my head, heres a few for you 1) Nismo single/twin Coppermix 2) NPC big mouth 3) ATS twin carbon 4) Jim Berry Full Monty Personally I'm using the twin Coppermix and know others that have NPC and ATS. Both with excellent review on reliability and drivability.

Thats some good info there on what a stocko is capable of. Gotta make use of all the advantages you can get! -

Looks like loading up the drivetrain is the better option? I'll probably have to try and trial what rpm to rev to while loading before flooring the accelerator. -

Thanks Gervase. I can sort of understand that explaination. I am guessing I was able to not bog because of the delay in full drivetrain/clutch engagement due to the ridabilty and slipping of the stock clutch. Since the new twin bites better, I'm probably missing the spot/timing of engagement. I will get some pointers from you next week if you're at the drag.
