The V Series Spotted Thread
carizma replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
spotted a V35 in our showroom the other day. It was our test vehicle for compliance, clean and stock standard, looking for a good home.... -
Best check with DOTARS, a lot of things could be going on with this car. Call them with the vin and they should be able to help you out.

Compliance Workshops
carizma replied to AndyD's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
We do stagea compliance, give us a call 03 9415 7150. Say you're from SAU. cheers, David @ Carizma -
We do both, sell cars out of our showroom and do the import broker service. It's basically just a tradeoff of risk vs. $$$$. Our import service is for a flat fee of $1,100, the markup is just for the cars we buy ourselves and put in the showroom. We do compliance for tons of import agents anyways, some of them even on SAU, or at least dealers you've heard about. The most problems I've seen is people buying cars off tradecarview and getting a piece of XXXX from a Japanese dealer. Oh yeah, and people buying cars that you can't import from Japan. I don't really blame people for this one, because the system (SEVS) definitely lacks logic at times, but that's a whole nother topic.
-
Correct, plus it includes the cost of a RWC and 3 year warranty. $16,000 for a GT-T? For a sedan it's definitely possible, but not a coupe.
-
Probably best to use our online quote form, since costs can vary. I did a sample of us buying car at auction for Y1,100,000 FOB (includes buyer's fee already of course), here's the breakdown: FOB Cost = $10,717.07 Carizma Fee = $1100 Shipping, Port, Customs, and Quarantine Fees = $2000 Import Duties and GST = $2,450.58 Compliance Fee = $2200 State Fees = $1800 Total car price is: $20,267.65 That includes 1 year rego, RWC, and 3 year warranty, basically drive-away cost. Basically, it's just a risk vs $$$ tradeoff when importing yourself. We try to minimize the risk by guaranteeing compliance (on cars we buy at auction) and offering warranties on all our cars (3 years, $600). cheers, david @ Carizma

we guarantee compliance on every car we buy at auction, since we buy it and comply it ourselves. Everything's done in house. Come see our showroom and chat in person if you'd like, 4 York st., Richmond, VIC 3121. cheers! David @ Carizma

a process that can probably be traced back to seafood-preserving methods used in China and South-East Asia - from same article

Well take tempura off the list, cause it comes from Portugal/Spain. and look up 'History of Sushi' on wikipedia, and take it off the list while you're at it. if we go back far enough, all food comes from (insert creation belief here), right?

It might help your sale to put up an under-the-bonnet shot or two..... -
New To This Site, Here Is My R33
carizma replied to Travis Bickle's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey Travis, Welcome, there are a couple yanks around here (myself included) so you're not alone, as well as a big contingent of SAU in Japan as well, so check that board for happenings in Japan. I'm from L.A. originally, but did two years in Japan, two in Bangkok, and now in beautiful sunny Melbourne, Australia. cheers, David @ Carizma -
Just looking at that list, I doubt our workshop would take that job. Might find a backyarder who'd do it, someone who isn't filling their quota. Yeah, as IronChef said, getting it registered is going to be tough. It seems like the state transport departments are cracking down on modified imports a bit also, just from our experience these past couple weeks. And that's just VicRoads...I'm sure he has plenty of good stories about Regency Park, well probably not 'good' stories.

Can This Be Complied?
carizma replied to R33 Impul's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
fine as long as it's not structural. -
Hey D-limo, Sorry, not sure I understand. You're not talking about a 15-year old import scheme, are you? It's now the pre-1989 scheme, so only 1988's or older are eligible. And isn't Nissan Fast the VIN decoder program? Not sure the connection, but give us a call, email or post again here with more info and maybe we can help you out.... cheers, David @ Carizma
-
I agree. Only time will tell of course, but Nissan Australia gave us a poster of the R35 for us to put in our dealership, so they definitely have some plans for the car here.

My Importing Journey
carizma replied to hanyou's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Haha, I know what you're talking about with soarer seatbelts. What year is it and what type of soarer? We might have a set we can sell you for $500. Or we could just comply the car for you and ship it to WA if you haven't got a workshop already. email/pm if interested cheers, David @ Carizma -
Yes, that is correct. 10 years is the limit for the statutory warranty. Anything older than that will come under aftermarket warranty, if one is offered. If you can negotiate a warranty with a dealer, great, but we've never done that before. That said, customers that feel the need for a warranty usually just get an aftermarket one. I don't believe there's anything about returning a car to stock in regards to the warranty.
-
I believe you have to be an LMCT to offer aftermarket warranties, which we are. I'd recommend either starting another thread on 'aftermarket warranties' or looking for one that already exists, since I'm sure you'll find plenty of stories/information regarding them on here. We do offer them, but don't try to persuade customers one way or another, totally their choice. david
