stolen_s15: cheers for the compliment, mate. Coolduck_69: we just sold a white one (R33 turbo) for $13,500. The buyers might be members of this forum I believe. Every car is different, so just look at a bunch of cars, and get to know what to look for that usually goes wrong in that particular model. If you don't know anything, arrange an inspection with a reputable mechanic (even via the RACV, but imports aren't their strongpoint, and some of them have an anti-import bias for some reason). come see us anytime and definitely check out as many dealers / private sellers as you can. cheers, david @ carizma

Hey mate, if you feel like cruising down to VIC, we've got one for $13,500...it's dark blue. we're an LMCT / importer / compliancer located in Richmond, VIC. PM me for pictures or more info if you're interested. cheers, david @ carizma

If this was me, I'd have contacted a Japanese customs agent to handle everything on your behalf. There are plenty of English-speaking ones out there, maybe someone can recommend it for you. If you've paid for the car already, it's rightfully yours and you can do with it as you please. You said you bought this at Yahoo auctions? Was there anything written about the terms of shipping? If not, don't let them push you around like this, start to take control of the situation and they'll realize your not as green as you possibly seem. custom's agents aren't that expensive, and are well worth their cost.

hmm....nope, no pictures necessary, I believe you 100%....... anyways, back to the topic at hand.....this guy is getting shafted by this seller....can we all at least agree on that?
-
haha, no comment on that, cause we use pretty much all of those companies from time to time. My favorite thing about Kiwi is they offer a car to be shipped to QLD, then trucked down to VIC included. I could be mistaken about that roro thing, but when I worked there we trans-shipped cars from Kyushu, they arrived to our customers at roro ports as roro of course. maybe they did some port upgrades or something, cause I haven't worked there in cars for 2 years now.
-
I'd imagine it was trans-shipped to Osaka and no one told you. It happens a lot.
-
nice.....but more info might help you get more inquiries
-
Hmm....'having to get rid of something quickly' isn't a great sign. Hopefully this has raised a couple warning bells with you. you can still do roro even if it's not running, we've done it many times. (with Kiwi shipping) (Car can't be smashed however, but non-running is fine). 180,000 is a huge ripoff, should be more like 30,000. Also, send it to Osaka, closer than Tokyo. Correct, no roro in f*kuoka, at least your buyer isn't misleading you in this regard. If you have a problem after this, contact a customs agent in Japan that speaks English and they can handle all this for you, for definitely cheaper than 180,000. good luck.....sounds like a shady operator in Japan. Have you done research on this guy? I've hardly heard stories of Japanese doing this....what his story? Might be something to warn fellow SAU people about (after all the info is confirmed of course.) -david @ carizma

Importing A Car From Nz
carizma replied to Gameboy's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
cars older than 15 years are easy....shouldn't be a hassle at all...don't know about engine swapping or anything like that, but I'm sure some guys on here can give you more info about it. cheers, david -
R34 Compliance
carizma replied to sexysavage's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
no more fuel restrictors, since no more leaded fuel. Assuming that all the parts are completely factory stock standard, and in very good condition, this is what needs to be done. (from memory, so I could be forgetting something) add catalytic converter, brakes, oil, fuel, air filters, headlight conversion depending on the lights, head restraints modified, spare tyre sprayed mustard yellow, new australian chassis engraved, charcoal canister, full tune to meet emissions any additions from some other compliance workshops care to help out? -
N/A's can still go above the speed limit..... If you've in VIC, come pay us a visit, we have a couple N/A's you might enjoy.
-
I wouldn't worry too much about parts, and I wouldn't call either the 4 door or the 2 door back seat very comfortable. Probably the thing to think about is resale value and price. 4 doors are cheaper, but also more difficult to resell. That and looks is your main tradeoff I'd imagine.
-
Should be fine if you take care of it well. I'd say it's probably better if you do a lot of reading on taking care of the cars so you know what you're getting into. Any definitely take it to a mechanic to check it out for you, that'll save you a lot of hassle in the long run.
-
should have no trouble selling this, we get inquiries for 180sx's all the time. difficult to get them at a good price from Japan. good luck with the sale!
-
Others might disagree, but I'd try to up your budget first to 12 or 13 at least. Also, consider R33's or R34's as well, unless you're really attached to the R32 GTS-s.

Questions Regarding F50 Cima
carizma replied to Mr Eps's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Strange, but we've had hardly any inquiries about the F50 Cima. If there were people interested, we'd definitely get the evidence and add it to our compliance schedule. We're doing a lot of Aristos, however, probably because their price range is lower than an F50 Cima, and people put Lexus badges on them and most people can't tell the difference. I like the F50 Cima a lot, would buy one myself if I had the cash. -
I vote GTR....but might be A BIT biased.
-
haha, that'll get your post noticed at least....

Need Another Car, But Need Some Help
carizma replied to jon4r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
what do you mean by performance? Can be a lot of different things. It seems a bit odd to talk about performance in a N/A anyways, right, like saying who can walk the fastest. -
Hi guys, was just wondering if you guys would consider starting a Business Trader whole cars section. It would definitely be better for us, since most users seem to think of the Business Trader section as parts only. Our posts get about 200 views in the BT section, while private seller posts of similar vehicles get in the 1000's. I assume BT's aren't allowed to post in the private sellers section, even if they flag their post with a Business Trader heading or something? We always try to follow the rules around here and support an orderly forum, so just wanted to run this by you guys and see what you thought. If there was a BT whole cars forum, I assume you guys would see an increase in dealerships registering as BT as well....that's ok, we're not afraid of a little competition. cheers, david
