  1. That's the button to tilt down the side mirrors when reversing. It's probably disconnected on your car. Interesting that the boot release button is different, mine goes from right to left to open the boot.
  2. split screen picture from the front cameras - taken inside the garage, no extra lighting to illuminate the area in front of the cameras. sorry for the flash showing on the right side of the screen. cheers.
  3. i think the auto off feature is for safety reasons. same reason why the tv would turn off when the car is moving. the image is not bad. a bit confusing at first bec of the split screen feature but easy enough to get used to it. it's coloured and not as 'distorted' as the rear camera - if i'm not mistaken the rear camera shows a wide angle shot and therefore it looks like objects are still far away. i'll post a pic when i get a chance to take one within the week. cheers.
  4. i've got the front cameras in my car. it does split the image into half and half and you switch it on by pressing the button that chris rogers posted. button is located below the hazard switch. it only works when you're in 1st gear (i have the manual), so basically, you put it in first gear, pop up the screen and press the button. it automatically switches off when you shift to 2nd gear or after 20 secs, if you're still in 1st gear. i imagine it is helpful when coming off a driveway w/ both sides full of parked cars making it difficult to see if a car is coming by. it's helpful for parking beside another car as you can use to judge the distance to the curb. i use it when i back into my garage in conjunction w/ the rear camera, so i know when to stop so that the front bumper just clears the garage door - to give me a ton of room at the rear. had no idea it cost that much. cheers, rob
  5. hi chris, are you referring to the actual buttons (as in replace the original) or stickers that will go over the jap ones? thanks.
  6. Try Trojan motorsport in Mitchell (6242 6277). They do imports - if they can't do it, they can at least point you in the right direction.
  7. Does anyone know which fuse controls the amp - for those equipped with the Bose system? As far as I can tell there are 2 fuse boxes, one near the battery compartment and one close to boot release button. Thanks.
  8. if you're counting people interested in the sticker for the stone interior, i'm in.
  9. looks good. do you know if he did this with any other color? cars w/ the stone interiors have buttons that are more of a brown/tan shade. thanks.
  10. glad you're enjoying your new ride. the manual is quite different from the auto. as for the clutch, i may be wrong but i think that's standard. takes a while to get used to but a couple of days drive in traffic will help you get used to it. looks like a really nice car. has anyone gone over 185 kph on this thing? just wondering because the speedo seems a bit limited to 180-190 although the car certainly feels like it will go beyond that easily.
  11. bring it back and show them a picture of how it should be mounted. good luck.
  12. unless you're willing to spend to have the sat/nav converted, i don't see why it's such a big deal compared to one that doesn't have one. personally, i only use it when i'm reversing. black is great but a bit harder to maintain as scratches will easily show. i think having an all-leather interior will always look better compared to the updated dash of the '05. from what i can tell, the main difference really is in the auto - the shifter looks really different, but this is not going to be an issue for the manual. sunroof is great too but how often will you be using it? i guess the question is how badly do you want a manual? have you driven one and compared it to your auto? for me, i'll go for the manual any time especially w/ a coupe. best way to choose is to park them side by side if you can. i'm sure you'll make up your mind right away. cheers, rob
  13. I think the immobiliser mentioned above is the full alarm with motion sensors - the ones that look like mini mics (2) on top of the dash. At least that's what I noticed, set the alarm and when movement is detected inside the car, it goes off - scared the crap out of my son when I left him sleeping inside when I went out to buy something.
  14. nice!! congrats, enjoy your new ride...
  15. hey angelo, welcome to the forum. all the points that warren wrote are true. if you're looking for the gt8 then that means you're after the sedan (cvt transmission). heard good things about this but can be a headache if you encounter problems as nissan australia does not carry spare parts for it. sourcing the transmission oil can also be tricky. the manual is great which is what i have but there is a bit of learning curve involved if you're not used to the 6 speed. it's notchy and the throws are short and the clutch can be a bit of a workout but given a choice, i would go for it again. there's a lot out there so be sure to check as many as you can so you can compare. some of the websites to check for available cars (if you're in sydney): sspi.com.au (look for chris and last time i checked, they still had the gt8 for sale - they can also source a car for you in japan if you're willing to wait) nagoyamotors.com.au japlink.com.au - they have lots of cars but i would really check the condition of the interior japaneseautocentre.com.au i would personally go for the full leather if you can find one. it is faster, cheaper and better finished than similar year 3-series cars out there. just be prepared to pay for petrol - still quite reasonable given the engine size and power. good luck. rob
  16. Approx. $150k according to this article. No offense but personally, I think the design is bordering on fugly. The only thing going for it is its name and performance numbers. Overhangs are too long and the interior looks too old fashioned - the radio controls remind me of the CB radio. Design will look old in 2 yrs time, maybe less. Then again, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but for $150k, I might consider the V8 M3. http://www.editorial.discountnewcars.com.a...A25737D002260A5
  17. Has anyone dealt with Japanese Auto Centre at Parramatta Rd? Saw this on one of their ads for the V35 - says they can convert Sat Nav at small cost. http://www.japaneseautocentre.com.au/zoom.php?id=63#
  18. Park lights and high beam come on when I turn the switch. Doesn't appear to be foglights, it's the same one that lights up when I use my high beam. Maybe the integrated foglights are for the sedan only? Can't see where the foglights can be installed in the housing.
  19. Thanks mate! Sorry, quite new to the forum. Cheers.
  20. For those with the Sat Nav screen - has anyone experienced getting a "Pit" warning sign flashed across their screen? It goes away eventually but comes back every time you first pop up the screen. It has some Japanese characters on it, a big image of an open wrench with the word PIT in the middle of the screen. I'll try to post a pic when I get a chance. I think it's just a warning to get the usual service maintenance - the car hit 20,000 km last week (the message started just before it hit 20k) but I want to make sure it's just that. If so, will the message automatically disappear after an oil change or will a series of buttons/commands need to be entered first? I remember that the Altima I drove would have a light to tell you when it's time for service. The shop will then 'reset' this after the service so that you don't get the light back on until it's due for another service. Appreciate any feedback on this. Can anybody confirm what the service interval is for the V series? G35 has it at every 3,750 miles or roughly 6,000 km for Type 1 service (city driving). Cheers.
  21. Sorry, just new to the forum. Is that the Nissan Part number in the picture? Went to Nissan the other day with the old filter and showed it to them (no PN on the filter). They asked for the VIN number - I gave them all the numbers I could find including Chassis, engine and trans axle, only number missing was my fax number . The parts guy still couldn't figure it out, says there were 3 PN coming up in the system so now he wants the part number. Thanks.
  22. Price still looks a bit high. Doesn't even have leather and pop up nav screen.
