  1. ahh, another one of "Boostzors late night runs" should be fun.
  2. Most probably the bubbling noise is related to the oil, and in my opinion, its the rocker cover ventilation. If its still there when you get it back, take a look at what gradenkos done to his PCV valves, and see if blocking them off like he has changes anything. As for the box, the most theyll do is put some better oil in there for you. Sounds like the vibration is box related, if it does it only in 5th. What do they mean normal driving conditions? arent they normal driving conditions for a skyline? I know theyre normal driving conditions for my car, get gradenko to show them his normal driving conditions, theyll soon change their mind.
  3. youre getting a bit ahead of yourselves. Its really only the oil out of the BOV problem thats being disputed right? Most likely, your pistons, and rings are fine. Oil can also come from many other places (turbo seal etc), and oil from rings is not going to come out of the BOV. And if there is no oil smoke out the exhaust, then its not much oil at all. Most likely the intake is drawing oil from the rocker cover, not a big deal really, if the PCV valves are faulty, they need replacing, other than that, a catch can. If you know where the car is, im presuming barries, give him a call, and get him to check it out, even if it means paying a bit yourself, it wont be all that much. Dont get too worried, i spose the cars only done around 100k? Engines are good for way longer than that before rings etc need doing, especially on stock boost.
  4. yes, im very tempted, if its cooling down i will be there. Ive gotta see my uncle on the weekend, hes an SS driver, and he always points out my 'rice racer' i need a timeslip to stick in his face. Rocko eh. I used to live down there, dad still works down there, so ill give him a ring and see whether theres a nice breeze in by then.
  5. I just hope it cools down. Or im leaving it till next week. May still be down there, even if only to watch, just to see that purple warrior, um i mean the GTR of course. And im keen to see GTS-t VSPEC's car too.
  6. or you need a catch can.
  7. You also need to take into account where the change will put you in the rev range for the next gear. No use changing at 5500 if it puts you in a crap place in the next gear. You should experiment according to the dyno sheet and find a balance.
  8. theres a few going, so it should be good. Ill be there, most probably. have to have a better look at the new R, maybe even see how i fare against it.
  9. well, you can rest assured it will be fixed then. Barrie rocks.
  10. well, as long as we're welcome, you can count me in. looks like my vote is the most popular.
  11. from the silencers ive heard, they dont really cut down noise very much, try some steel wool closer to the engine, although youll need to unbolt the cat probably. Thats an old dodgy solution.
  12. check or change oil, other than that, synchros can be worn. I have the problem into 1st, it gets used and abused the most.
  13. hey, im having a pub crawl friday night, and there are 10-15 spots left. Free bus, cheap drinks. leaving perth, then the queens, contacio, the wembley, redrock, and finally subi. register your interest and ill PM you full details, or you can ring me 0411144675. Try to give me an idea of numbers also. Me, gradenko, boostzor, aw11 will be there, along with some other people. a few people havent been able to get work off, so ive got to try to get the bus as full as possible. Thanks.
  14. also try superpro http://www.superpro.com.au they make the polyurethane bushes whiteline sell, or so the suspension guy told me. they are blue, not yellow, and cheaper, thats all the difference, same parts and quality. Ive just done the castor bushes in my s13. much nicer.
  15. so what happened to your terrorist impression? i reckon you would have made him piss, "Im gonna blow you up mutha****er" Anyway, if the cops understand your position, and hate bikies as much as they say they do, cant they slip you his address? we could discreetly set his house on fire.
  16. i bloody hope i dont get pulled over then, BOV, loose filter (no hose clamp or mounting) wheels are bigger, etc etc. tint is gonna be expensive to fix, but more sturdy exhaust mounts etc thats just plain crap. didnt you use the "it came from japan like this mister" argument?
  17. im taking my car in tomorrow to get sorted, ill ask about pfc's cause theres one for sale i wouldnt mind grabbing, if i can scrape up enough cash. let you know.
  18. you dont need an emissions test to tell if the cats there or not, cause it really stinks if its not there, so if a cops following you, theyll be able to tell pretty easily. I found this out when following a skyline, im not going to name him, we'll call him captain catless for now, he knows who he is.
  19. hahaha, PVA McBeal. Its about bloody time someone stood up to the cops, so they have to have a real reason for giving a ticket, not just that they got pissed off with you. Good work, if i ever get a bullshit ticket, will you be my lawyer?
  20. Sorry, just had to fix it.
  21. A can, that was lucky, ever found a bird with its neck wrapped around part of the underbody, thats not nice.
  22. thats strathfield, west perth you say...
  23. autowatch rock. You can go direct, there is an autowatch shop in myaree, and theyre cheap, and the company is south african, the place where cars have to be the best protected. Mine was already in the car, but add on sensors are all plug and play, it cost me $25-30 for a set of ultrasonic sensors for inside my car. They can be wired up for a TT but i havent bothered yet.
  24. Actually i think the motorplex is the most downhill in aus, it drops the most over the quarter that the regulations allow, so we should have the fastest track. As for the z's, they have an insane amount of straight line traction, must be a combination of a little extra weight, and a good suspension set up. (Not much sideways traction though!) I reckon the extra grip, the slightly bigger engine = more torque, and the two turbo set up brings boost on earlier, again more torque. Thats gotta be the difference.
  25. i think i saw you on leach hwy near risely st a couple of times, the bootlock has been filled, and its still got grey primer right? I have seen 2 different black R33s there, but i definately saw 'hicks' i could be wrong about the primer though. Nice car all the same.
