misc stuff for sale! preferably Brisbane
deesh replied to poop's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies... I think what gradenkos getting at is the AFC changes the signals youre AFM puts out, making youre ECU think you are getting more or less air flow. The Fuel maps the ECU uses are the same, its just fooled into thinking theres more/less air so it puts more/less fuel in. The ECU still controls mixture, youre just tricking it. Most skylines run rich, leaning the mixture out makes youre ECU think you have less airflow, and you arent working the engine as hard, so as a by product, the timing stays advanced, rather than being reduced at higher revs (it gets rid of the infamous 5000rpm flat spot). Its people like me who have to make the ecu think theres more air, so i get more fuel who are disadvantaged by this, cause my timing is not as advanced as it could be. I am the one who needs the ITC! I know Gradenko has done a lot of research into mods, thats why he ran a 13.8 with the small amount of mods he has done, he knows what things do, and how to apply them. I reckon hes spent more on speeding fines than mods.

ill take the s-afc off your hands, i payed about 170 for my last one, this ones for my dads car, so thats about my ball park. Of course i would pay the COD fee. -
im pretty sure all nissans are the same. If you pull the lever up, under the handle there is an adjustment screw, on the handle itself. I cant bloody explain it without a pic, anyway, pull the handle up and look at the handle itself, sort of under the handle, close to the base. If that makes sense...

i was on a silvia cruise the other night, and a bunch of guys had them, they looked like they come i handy, especially when someone spots cops, everyone else can be warned too. Not that we were doing anything illegal...
-
dunno, i reckon it can get pretty expensive, or so ive heard.
-
yep, the blue one. mmmmmmmmm nice.

while we're on the subject, does anyone know who owns R32 GTR? Bloody nice.

Oh my god, that, especially the last one is very sad. I cant stand any of that crap. And how can you listen to those 3 freaks in the morning?

Boostzor, i know youre crazy enough to **** off with a camera. What ****s me is that they claim theyre going to 'start' hiding them, cmon, inside a bus stop is not considered hidden? And instead of fixing roads, they mess them up. If youve been on somerville blvd off north lake road lately, youll have seen the new roundabouts, which in my opinion are a waste of money, and are more dangerous, because a lot of people dont know how to use them properly. I think it was canada that just scrapped speed cameras, after admitting they were just for revenue raising, and did nothing for road safety. BTW did you know they can now put multinovas on bridges http://www.police.wa.gov.au/Services/Traff...handDevelopment edit: Priva-plate, sweeeeeeeet.

just saw a news update. "WA Police are going to start hiding speed cameras, drivers need to be taught a lesson, some drivers slow down when they see a camera, and speed up after" What do they mean 'start' havent they been hiding them already. So now its legal to put them behind bushes, and in bus stops. And as for slowing down and speeding up, how about slowing down, yelling abuse at the operator, dropping a couple of gears, and flooring it. Is their budget getting low or something? time for a bit more revenue raising. I wouldnt be so against this, if it all got used to fix roads, but the fact is it doesnt, and what they do spend they waste on crappy stupid modifications to road with no problems, rather than fixing broken road. Anyway, thats the end of my venting.

if your good with a welder, then weld up a box, i used a peice of metal tubing (patio tube) with a fixed end, and a removable end. Put a couple of screw in hose tails, at the size you need, fill it with steel wool, paint it and fit it. Good thing is you can make it custom fit your car, and it costs bugger all.

I just got iridiums from coventrys, $19 each. Ring your local shop, cause they have to get them from morley. Thats a pretty good price cause a couple of local performance shops quoted ahem, $35 a plug. I had a hesitation problem at low revs, and the iridiums gapped at .8 fixed it. BTW it says not to gap them, but just be really careful when doing it.

i used to know a guy who worked for the government. "Oooh, traction control.... lets see how this works" "Ahh, thats crap, lets turn it off"

yep, they are about 6000 k's old. There was some oil around the coil packs, which looked like it was clean, and put there intentionally, ill try WD40 or something. The coil packs actually look quite new. I am going to get those expensive plugs, to see if it makes a difference, seings its only under high load, that it misses.

Anyone have any ideas why my car misfires at two times: 1) cruising from 70-100 or so, then throw it back to 3rd, and floor it, i get a pause, about 3 small pops, and it takes off like a rocket. This is not so bad, just a bit annoying. 2) Taking a slow corner, or almost stop at lights or something, 2nd gear, low revs, if i give it too much too soon, i get almost full boost, but the revs wont pick up, it feels as if its choking, sometimes it misfires. I have to back off, let the pressure blow of, pick up the revs a bit, then floor it. I have a SAFC, i dont think its fuel. The car has done this for as long as ive had it, im just getting sick of it. Someone suggested spark, and pulling the plugs out, cleaning and gapping to 0.8 has made it a bit better. I have NGK plugs, any suggestions, new plugs (what brand), or other causes?

Cooked 300ZX question, Maybe you guys can help?
deesh replied to ix9's topic in General Automotive Discussion
A rebuilt engine is probably what you want, cause then you know its good. Getting a second hand engine could lead to more problems, you dont know the k's or whether its been thrashed or abused. Anyway, what a perfect excuse for a bit of internal bulletproofing. A VG is a bitch to work on, but if you can get it out, all you need is a rebuild kit, with gaskets, seals etc. The insides are no more complicated than your average car, there is a misconception that its hard to pull an engine down and rebuild it, it took me 2 weeks to rebuild a RB30E in my vl, first car, memories. -
Have you had simex tyres before? I have had them on one of my previous cars, and i thought they performed better than the G-grid's on my last car. These tyres, that i picked up today, are nice and sticky, and the last ones didnt wear quick at all. They might not be the top of the range, but they are at least middle if not better. Overall I was happy with how they handled the situation.

last week i ordered 16" ROH adrenalin in chrome, with 225/50 tyres. That price was pretty good, $1650. I was sposed to get them this week, but the guy rang me and said ROH lost them, or something along the way, theyd be another 2 weeks. He said hes not happy wit them, and hell try to get me a much better price per wheel or something. Then i get another phone call, and he has managed to get me 17" blades, shadow chrome, with 235 tyres for $1700 instead, fitted tomorrow afternoon. The guy has done a good deal for me, so im gonna give him a plug. Avanti tyres in rockingham, sort of know the owner through dads work, so maybe thats why he tried hard, but if youre after wheels, give them a ring and see what they can do. Im very happy with hows hes handled this.

just found this, this is a HUD. http://members.iinet.net.au/~sayers/biscui...its/specs.htm#n what does it look like when you look through it in the dark?

I have one of these, works well, now Dad wants one for his Z. Around the $200 mark (thats what the last was worth) and COD to perth.

Another Diff question
deesh replied to esskimodo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If you jack the back up, and spin one wheel: a regular diff will make the other side spin opposite. an LSD will spin them both in the same direction. correct me if im wrong. An easier way is to dump it and see what happens... -
yep, simex tyres, which ive had before, and was very happy with. Tip is, dont go to big dealers, go to youre local little tyre shop.

you were just a bit too late for me, last week i went and ordered chrome adrenalins. I was too poor for the 17", had to go with 16's, anyway i should get them friday morning, just in time for the cruise. ahh its all coming together. $1650 is not a bad price with 225 tyres either, hey?
