Trouble Over 300rwkw With Rb25det
muaythailuke replied to muaythailuke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I cant see it being the head its not like it was hugly ported just cleaned up the dags etc. I dont think its the dyno either as they have had more powerful cars on there without trouble with wheelspin. I will try and get the dyno graph scanned onto computer. -
Trouble Over 300rwkw With Rb25det
muaythailuke replied to muaythailuke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Coil have been replaced with the CDI system theres enough spark there to light half of tassie I think the turbo is a GT3540? So its not outta puff. Exhaust is 3.5" so that shouldnt be a problem. This is not my car, im just trying to find out some info for them. The head is also ported so that shouldnt be a problem. On the dyno graph it heads straigh up looking like its gonna too 400kw but then get to 4500-5000rpm and just falls over, not a miss but just faids away and makes around 300-320rwkw -
Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone has experienced trouble once getting over 300wrkw with an RB25DET. The engine has enough mods under the sun to support it but once you start to run a fair whack of boost(~1.5)the power just drops off after 4500-500rpm thought it was spark so we put in a CDI and didnt seem to help. it seem to be pointing to weak valve springs springs but it has tomei springs, only standard cams though, runs approx. 8.7:1 compression and a 107 or 109 RON fuel. Anyone got any ideas? Has anyone every had trounble with there VVT/VCT or whatever its called? Any thoughts would be helpful thanks fella's Cheers Luke

muaythailuke replied to muaythailuke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction

Aftermarket Rb25 Valves? Anyone Know Of Any?
muaythailuke replied to muaythailuke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
:cheers:yeah found them, your right they arnt cheap but neither are stock ones from nissan. Has anyone ever used these? -
Ive got 19x9.5 with 275/30 tyres on my R33 they have +35 offset and they just fit with some slight lipping Not always true my new 19's arent any heavier than my old 17's if anything they are lighter, all depends on what type of wheel you buy and whether you really give a toss about that. If your putting 19 or 20's on a car your not gonna go fanging about a track with em anyhow.

Hey guys and gals, Ive have a small set back with my car and it looks like I my need new valves, I priced them though nissan the other day but I was wondering if anyone knew of any aftermarket O/S ones avaliable for the RB25? As per most RB stuff there is plenty about for the RB26 but yet to find anything for the RB25. Also, I know back in the the day putting the biggests valves that you could fit in the head of your car was the go but with the introdution of muti-valved heads etc you dont hear some much of it now. So is it just not worth putting a bigger valve into something like the RB20/25/26 or SR20? Cheers, Luke

Cheers man, yeah im running 245 on the front and 265's on the rear now but only in a 17x8 and 17x9 rim and ive been told buy some that I cant run a 19x9.5 on the rear I was just wondering if anyone could confime this? -
That R33 GTR, Pauls? Has that restently been rebuild? CF Jun style bonnet? Shittload of kws?
-
Hey guys 'n' gals, I am looking at putting a set of 19x8.5" with 234/245 tyres on the front, and 19x9.5" and 255/265 tyres on the rear to a GTS-T R33... Is this possible with maybe only lippping, or would some more extensive mods need to be made? Or what offset I would need? I looked through all the page of the "wheel sizes and rim offset for skylines" thread but no-one had listed as putting 19's on there R33. If anyone knows I would appreciate the info. -Luke
