  1. Cool, thanks for the help gentleman I guess a front pipe / dump pipe replacement is my best option. Is this something any exhaust shop would do, or shoul i grab one online and install it myself or what is the best bet there? I'll do a forum search now, but if anybody had any advice they wanted to add Isaac
  2. I don't have any calipers, Might do the tape measure around it and divide by 3.14159 trick to work it out tomorrow or something. So given this exhaust, do you think i would notice much performance difference if i got a bigger dump and front pipe? or should i get a bigger intercooler with the money? Not that i have any money, just trying to get an idea of where this exhaust is at, or would it be a "better off replacing the whole thing" job? Isaac
  3. Hey guys, I have had my 33 for a year now. It came with whatever is on the car now. After a few months of owning it, i chopped out the middle muffler/resonator and replaced it with straight pipe. I have no idea what the rest of the exhaust is, or even what size it is, or if it's stock. Could you guys let me know if it's a catback/stock, what size piping etc. I've been in a few skylines with straight thru piping (no mufflers ) and love the sound, if i chopped off the muff and just had pipe, or a canon, would i get a similar sound, or would i need to spend more money for audible bliss? Isaac
  4. Is the dash for an auto or for a manual? Is there any difference in appearance from a series one to a series two dash?
  5. Hi, I'm interested in the intercooler. Would you sell the intercooler+shroud for $150 pickup? I'm trying to decide between that and a second hand front mount kit
  6. Will the R34 intercooler bolt up to the R33 without any fuss or will i need different piping/mounting to make it fit?
  7. Hey, I would definately be interested. Yellow R33 GTS-T. I just blew my auto gearbox, and am organising with NizzPro to go in late next week for a manual conversion. If i do, by some freak of nature, get the car back in time, i would love to be involved Isaac
  8. Hi guys, i have an auto R33 series 1. The gearbox is rooted, third and fourth just rev when i accelerate, without moving, like the clutch is gone. I got a quote from a transmission place for a grand to rebuild it and get it all going. So i'm interested in converting to manual. Where is the best place to find a R33 gearbox? Alternatively, if someone has a very, very cheap automatic box in really good condition, i may consider that and be a cheapskate Thanks guys, i don't know where to start looking Isaac
  9. Hi, can you let me know what resources you found online to help you with the gearbox swap? I've found a few other threads you have started with questions, and figured you would probably have all the information by now Isaac
  10. Hi guys, I'm having a similar problem. It seems like my clutch is worn out, except that i have an auto! In first and second, everything is fine, in 3rd and 4th, if i put the accelator down (even just to creep to highway speed) it feels as though the clutch is slipping, revs go right up and the car doesn't go any faster, and then when you take your foot off, it goes back to the normal revs for that gear/speed. What did you guys have to get done to fix the problem, and how much did it cost? Isaac
  11. RE: alignment, i know i shouldn't need one if i just get new rear shocks, but i put new front everything in the other day to lower the car, and haven't had an alignment yet
  12. Thanks for all your help guys I should be picking up a pair of second hand rear shocks this afternoon or tomorrow, with plans to install tomorrow. Once i've put them in, i'll get a wheel alignment, and i should be all good, right? because the car handles like a wet noodle on hard drugs at the moment. Can i get the alignment done before i put in the good rear shocks (i'm guessing alignment wouldn't be affected by a dodgy rear shock?), because if so, i could get an alignment today so that it's all good tomorrow after i replace the rear shocks.
  13. I just rang up Performance Suspension on Brisbane Rd, Labrador. New KYB Shocks (supply only) 170 each rear, 220 each front. He said it's dodgy to do one side (EG: left or right) but it's fine to do just fronts or just rears. If it's only 50 more for a brand new one, without the downtime of having to wait while being refurbished, i think i would do that. Is there anywhere i might find new shocks cheaper? Isaac
  14. I've found WW Shock Absorbers in brisbane who will recondition them for $120 a pop, definately sounds like the cheapest way to go Should I just get the broken one reconditioned, or should i do the other rear one as well so they 'match'? I obviously don't know how rooted the fronts are, is there an easy way to check them? Because if they are totally smashed, i might find an organ i don't use much to sell, and get the front ones done too, beause i believe that is where i would notice a real difference (assuming they are gone). Is there any other little bits of suspension i might wanna check on/replace while i'm at it. I'm not taking about swapping in coilovers or something, just like bushes or anything else? I don't know anything about suspension (well, until yesterday when i did a strut swap and got myself into this mess!) Oh, and on my front shocks, there is a little knob , labeled 1 - 5, is 5 harder or softer? What difference does it make? Thanks for your help guys, as a new guy to this forum, it's great to have access to such a wealth of information and expertise! Isaac
  15. SydneyKid Suspension definately sounds bitchin', but it's also definately out of my price range I did a member search for Elite32, the closest i could find was EliteR33. Is this who you are talking about? How do i get in contact? Isaac
  16. Hey guys, I bought some lowering springs and chucked them in. Just realised afterwards that the rear drivers side shock was leaking, i don't know if we damaged it, or it was just getting old. Anyway, I need to get a new shock absorber. I don't know anything about these, i'm assuming i would need a pair for the rear, so the sides match each other? What is good on a budget? I'm not street racing, it's more of just a commuter. R33 Series 1 GTST. I'm on the Gold Coast Isaac
  17. I'm looking for new shocks, what would you want for yours?
  18. What condition are the tyres in? I have the stock 16" R33 rims with almost brand new tyres, would you be interested in these as a swap + cash?
  19. I'd love to see some pics of your car! I did the 'finger test' on my car, and i only seem to be able to fit 3 or 3 and a half, so i'm not sure how much lower it will look being "1 finger" lower Isaac
  20. Hi, where abouts on the gold coast are you located? How much lower than stock are these springs? Thanks
