  1. I have the 18"x9.5" (remember pm? ) and mine are the +12 offset. They sit just nice with just minor scrubbing at full lock. wouldn't want to go any further. I'm currently running 275/35 tyres but they are a fraction wide for the rim, I'll go with 265s next time round.
  2. Highly recommend Racepace. Had mine done there, really neat setup, really high quality job.
  3. Bugger, I missed this would have been good fun
  4. keep it simple: get the suspension sitting right, set of good rims. all you need. mate of mine took that photo of my car earlier in the year. i just need to get around to doing xenons sometime.
  5. If you want to get in on that I'd suggest being quick, I got an e-mail from Adam a couple of days ago, it's just about full up.
  6. AJPhoto just put some up on the WRX site. So wet! http://www.wrx.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=51874
  7. yeah, but you had a little bit more power up the straights matt, couldn't stay close enough! best part about that dry session yesterday is i'm learning to trust my brakes a bit more now, loving braking a bit later to find that bit more corner speed. results have just gone up on the wrx site, link here http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?31/08/2008.SAN
  8. Great vid!! Love that sideways action at the last corner
  9. I always keep a couple of grand handy in an emergency fund, my story is similar to Johnny, I got my GT-R in March and I've already spent $5k too.
  10. We (group 1) were really lucky to get that dry session after lunch, managed to get a 1'27.1. Really happy with that for a first time being timed at Sandown, just a shame there weren't more dry sessions!
  11. I run normal street tyres on mine (275/35r18) and I find that around the mid 30s cold I tend to get a lot of understeer. High 30s low 40s cold seems to be the best so far.
  12. nice, actually looks like it could be good! Dare I hope for a PROPER sequel to the first Fast and Furious? Nice to see a couple of R34s in the mix too, I also managed to spot a Ford RS200! The Subie STi wasn't too over the top and that Buick GNX at the start is beautiful too. Is it possible that the car people on an FnF movie have discovered a modicum of taste?
  13. I'm in New back pads going in on Tuesday, should be all schweet!
  14. I'm running 275/35ZR18 on my R33 GT-R. I get a bit of scraping at the front on full lock but i have no trouble with the guards and suspension travel. I'm running Volk TE37 18x10.5, not sure of the offset, i bought already set up.
  15. Grey R34 GT-T WIP521 with SAU stickers parked in the Northland carpark next to my black Focus.
  16. Spotted R34 GT-R GD2ILR on the westgate tonight. Nice car! I was in the Black FG XR6 trying to keep up
  17. Dunno what i was seeing in the corners, I tend to focus on the road and judge by speed and shift by sound and look at the gauges as little as possible, although i'm pretty sure i was holding somewhere around 120-125 through the sweeper. My speedo has a peak recorder so i know i managed to top out at 188km/h down the main straight with a clear run. On saturday I ran 38psi cold and on sunday 40psi cold (275/35/18) on 40 i had a lot less understeer and the car pointed exactly where i wanted it.
  18. I ran street tyres all weekend and found that upping the pressure by a couple of pounds on Sunday reduced my understeer dramatically. Fun day was even more insane than usual, a lot of cars on the track and mostly without a clue, makes it tough when you're flying past everybody in a GT-R and some fool decides to drive down the middle of the track! Sunday was a much better day for serious drivers and very, very well run.
  19. usually a good idea to wait until it's released!
  20. So who's meeting us at the Cooper St/Hume Hwy BP servo at 6:30 tomorrow night for the drive up?
  21. last week, Ferrari F40 on Sydney road in Coburg. scared the shit out of me when I looked in my rearview mirror and nearly crashed!
  22. i'll bet it looks awesome in the metal, photos never do recent BMWs justice.
  23. spotted a black R32 GTS-T with SAU stickers in the rear quarter window looking nice and clean at shiners car wash on Bell street around lunchtime.
  24. looks like a couple of WRXs from the rex club will be keen to join us for the trip up on friday as well
  25. Yeah i was referring to the sprints the day after. I found the supp regs and the entry form but the bit about licensing in the supp regs is a tad murky, but that's probably because i'm still pretty green at all this.
