New Here, To Start My Hunt For An 02 M35.
Lil_Bobby_260 replied to Lil_Bobby_260's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
A Bit more torque id assume. But the issue still remains - finding off the shelf parts for them, as well as finding mechanics experienced in them. Ive read through the C34 Buyers guide. Ive shot off an email to J-Spec altering what im looking for. 99-2000 RS-Four S (Series 2, RB25DET Neo, Manual AWD with LSD, right?) Black. Or white. As long as its not silver lol Hoping to get something that already has aftermarket wheels, must have a bodykit, hoping for an exhaust as well, PRAYING that i can find one with aftermarket suspension. I figure a bodykit and exhaust system would not the easiest things to procure in Australia, and suspension is fairly expensive. Also a Boost controller already fitted would be good. But not essential. Was it possible to get a manual RS-Four S With leather? I think that being a luxury option, it most likely would be auto. Yeah....? -
Am looking to purchase a late model (1998 or later) Nissan Stagea or Skyline, wagon/sedan. Prefer one with some mods such as exhaust, body kit, wheels, boost controller/ecu, etc etc. Looking for one in very good condition, hopiing for les than 125,000km. PM me if you have something. I am checking through the For Sale forums as well as searching on J-Spec and Prestige Imports and dealrerships to find the right car. Thank you! Robbie

Have seen a stock 97 autech on j-spec for 17k but report said "faded paint" and had 140 thou klms. Good car if u wanted to bring one over and repaint it and rebuild the engine to make it your own car and original but not great if you wanted something you could just jump in and expect to clock up 50,000 carefree klms i guess.

Mechanical insurance....? Do you have a link to a site or anything? Is it basically like buying a warranty through a third party? This would give some great peace of mind but i wonder what the limitaions are.... -

If you have the cash to throw that sort of money at your engine then fuel economoy probably isnt an issue....? -
Skyline Buying Advice
Lil_Bobby_260 replied to matty-a's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I have one you could buy, mate. Not posted on here yet. 115,000k $17500 Series 2 R33 (1997) Silver, in very good condition - this is a well looked after car inside and out. I think it is a type M, due to the factory front bar and side skirts. and floormats, even. 600x300x100 FMIC Blitz boost controller with a low (7psi) and high (12psi) setting Nismo Short Shifter Full HKS Exhaust GT25/30 Turbo Aftermarket suspension Exedy Clutch 18" Lightweight 5 spoke wheels, charcoal. New 235 tyres. Dyno'd and Tuned 2 weeks ago - 200rwkW @7psi, 225 @12psi. The turbo can run higher being a GT25/30, but injector duty maxes out at about 13/14psi. Its my neighbours dads car. He is a member on here. And he's just furned 50 haha.... bought in nearly two years ago, selling it to buy a dedicated track car. If youre interested PM me and i'll wander next door and take a few photos. Might even put the bonnet down properly first. -
There is an S1 260RS on J-Spec for about 26k, landed and complied. http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=11083 "approx 580hp" Long list of mods but id assume its been 'driven'. A lot.

Lil_Bobby_260 replied to Lil_Bobby_260's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hmm well it depends on what the budget allows too, tho. Also i think it would be easier to extract a bit more power out of the VQ25DET with mods like fitting a larger intercooler, adding a boost controller, K&N panel filter and an exhaust system...? Otherwise what options are there to up the power of the VQ35? Obivously adding a turbo or supercharger, and then you still have to do all the afore mentioned mods, as well as the fact the an 04 would probably be more expensive in the first place....? -

Except you cant get compliance for it. Didnt start with the 35's til 2004. Emissions laws changed. Cant Bring over a car later than 11/03. VQ25DET it is! -
Buying any car with an RB26DETT is bound to cause issues - These cars are bought in japan by people who really do want to drive the tits off them. Otherwise theyd get a GTST. Or a Crown. I think the R32 is the best choice for a few reasons, these are some. They are lighter, easier and cheaper to find parts for, and mainly - cheaper to buy in the first place. Which is good, because nearly every RB26 that comes over from japan, either in a car or has a halfcut, needs a rebuild within a couple of years if not sooner. You have to look at the market that GTRs and Autech Stageas etc are marketed to. Of course the engine will have copped a flogging. The whole drive train will have. Buying a 32 is a good option because if you are going to have to rebuild the engine and possibly box at some stage, you'll be glad you bought a cheaper model, and there is no point spending money on a car to get a newer engine, when after a rebuild youre at square one all the same. I think the 32 is the best option if u are after a GTR, but be prepared to sink a lot more money into it while you own it. You will with nearly any GTR. Generally if you pay peanuts you'll get monkeys, get what you pay for. But take as many for a drive as you can, to get a feel for them.

OH yes But i think i have to buy new tyres for compliancing, right...??? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Might be runnin her on 16" pursuits for a few months if i get her!

Yeah thats true enough. Long way to go for a test drive - though i do have a lot of flybuys. I guess i was mainly asking if anyone has had experience with a company to a good result. Are any companies more reputable than others...

Thank you for making it blatantly obvious that i have no idea what im hoping to get haha Thank you for your advice as well, tho. I know people have had issues importing M35s built after 11/03 due to the laws changing, even though the car didnt. '02s however, im pretty sure there are no dramas. Just they made emissions laws stricter. It was the 35 that originally caught my eye but it seems there are a few decent 34 Series 2's kicking about also. They definately look like a mid-late 90's car tho, is the thing. And half the reason for lashing out on a 35 is that they are very thin on the ground over here still. -
I have my sights on an M35, or a late S2 with low kms. Who has imported their car themselves or through an agent such as Prestige or J-Spec? Im after some feedback on the best, most cost effective way to get a car over from japan and have it all complianced etc, whilst knowing that i'll get what i pay for. Who have you guys gone through? And how do you rate them? Ive never imported a vehicle before, and want some assurance my $25k will go to the right place! This is the one i am currently speaking to J-Spec about - Theyve quoted 28.5K. Better options for my money? Alternatives?

Hi all! Stumbled on this place accidentally, but you'd think i wouldve thought to look for a discussion on Stageas... Registered to assist with buying my new(ish) car. Obviously a Stagea, looking for an M35. Low Km, colour isnt an issue, prefer manual but tiptronic ok, prefer some form of kit (i know the earlier ones had a Dayz kit....?) definitely a turbo model, hoping for it to come with a set of wheels. As in er... aftermarket alloys. Are there many of these in Australia yet....? Im looking for something a bit different, something that can be comfy, cruisey, but quick enough. They seem like a big car though, to be powered by a 2.5L....? My current car is a Mazda 3 Maxx Sports. I was going to upgrade it to the turbo model of the Mazda 3 (i think they are calling it a Subaru Impreza WRX, nowadays...) But someone put me onto the idea of seeing what Japan has to offer. Other option is a Mitsubishi Legnum. But its a little small. Look forward to speaking with you all! Hoping to have it by January/February. Robbie

Hi All. Awesome forum - i stumbled onto it accidentally, and found the stagea discussion. :-) I've been looking at buying a stagea for a while now, and have been talking to Ben at J-Spec regarding this one - 2002 Nissan Stagea 250t RS FOUR Silver 15,000km Tiptronic 2,500cc turbo 4WD Leather interior 20" wheels Body kit Aftermarket suspension Dual airbags ABS brakes It works out to be about $28,500 L+C'd. My question is - how much are the new M35's worth??? There is another one on J-Spec for $17k, with an Axis front bar, but has 140,000k. Robbie
