  1. They are height adjustable only in 8mm grooves, NOT damper adjustable. I have has these in both my R33s and love them for the street, plus i do about 5 track days a year too on semi slicks and they still perform very well. Sure some coilovers will get me aroudn the track quicker but considering i spend around 360 out of 365 days on the street its hardly worth it when most of the time i am putting around Sydney in 50km/hr zones.
  2. also read this entire thread, it will take time, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...yno-t55845.html but you have a much better understanding of what turbo and mods achieve what power, then it will give you a good basis of knowledge to work from. Good luck.
  3. I'd do suspension first, but thats just me. PLENTY of coilovers out there you can buy, however lots of SAU Skyline owners have Bilsteins in their R33, as i do, this kit is great value for money, the Bilstein Kit, its height adjustable and is a great setup for a street R33. Plus Dan from ERD is great to deal with. http://www.erd.com.au/index.php?option=com...=store&ck=2
  4. top pics Ian, cheers!!!!
  5. my car is HEAVILY modified so needed an Engineers report for all the mods. Un-modified should be straight forward i assume. If it was going from NSW to QLD, its so freaking super easy, my brother done it twice with modified cars, goes to his mate up there in QLD who, gives the car a look over, gives him the blue-slip thing (or whatever the QLD equivalent is) and off he goes to get it registered. SUPER EASY. He laughed so hard when i told him all the things i had to do to get mine registered......
  6. +1 for Clover Leaf track, that was my favourite by far. L-O-T-S of sideways action form that one, loved it. Found the other ones too hard to memorise (i am very special after all)......... Sure we had to wait awhile for runs, but its a good excuse to chat to others in cars around you, so have a chat and meet some new people i say!!!! Good times had by all. And the fact that passengers were free, thats sensational, where on earth can you find that kind of value!!!
  7. top stuff, thanks for letting me know. No hurry at all mate. CHEERS!!!!!
  8. i recently bought a car to NSW from VIC. YOu will need to get a BLUE SLIP and an ENGINEERS REPORT to accompany the blue slip to give to the RTA. You need a few other things like Deed of Sale, plus others i cant quite remember off the top of my head. Then you need to hand in your old QLD plates, with all these forms to the RTA. I didnt get chosen for a Random inpsection, and i thank God i didnt, but its a chance game i have heard, sometime they do, sometimes they dont, I got lucky i guess. I can Highly recommend Greg Boyle from Autosport Engineering (ph: 9521 1388), he did my Blue Slip and Engineers Report. Superb service and did almost all the hard work for me. He knows exactly what to do and explained it all in laymans terms for a rookie like me. Best of luck mate! Cheers, Andrew
  9. great work mate, some TOP pics there. How on earth did Liz get THAT FAR onto the grass, good form!!!!!!!!!! You go girl!!!!!
  10. Epic freaking super dooper awesome day!!!!!!!! My first run, missed a whole loop of the map, second run clear but dam messy, third run getting the hang of it, and only got better from there (well in my mind maybe HAHAHA) Took some pics and videos but turns out i had some crap on my camera lense so didnt come out well at all. Love to get my hands on some other good pics/videos people have. Great to put some meet some new people as always too! Cant wait for the next one, with some luck the rain might hold out for the next one?!?!?!
  11. as i missed the last texi, do we find out what the courses are before the event, or do we find out on the day??? cheers.
  12. tried option 1, got all the oil out, but pulled my back putting the car upright again........ NOT!!!!!!! Option 2 it is!!!!!!! Thanks Duncan.
  13. The thought of a tyre letting go at 200+, well it makes me bones shiver.......... not an option. Cheers for the post. Also like your new quote under you pic, that was what that young fella said at Show and Shine wasnt it? "Every skyline deserves a photo mate!" GOOD STUFF!!!!
  14. Anyone with an R33 with the oil cooler in the same place as mine (or anyone know of someone else with oil cooler in same spot) know the best way to drain out the oil from the oil lines? CHEERS in advance Andrew
  15. Bobby, how are ya tiger? Thanks for the post mate, will look into whats the best way to do it on my car, either way i think it will be annoying. Bugger. Stupid skylines, i love them, but love to hate them too......
  16. sweet, thanks fellas. Thought that was the case, i am not bothered as its not my tyre (phhhew!) so will give my brother the bad news. Bit of a bugger as there is still plenty of meat left on it............... We shall send this poor tyre to the tyre gods........... au revoir dear friend.........
  17. Good stuff, will give it a whirl then, thank matey. Or a question to anyone with an oil cooler that knows HOW to remove the nasty oil form the oil cooler........ help please Thanks for the posts people, keep them coming, as i need all the help/advice/tips i can get, cheers!
  18. tops, thanks for the post. Oil cooler is located in drivers side brake vent, below the foglights (on S2 GTST) if that makes sense, see pic: how do you get all the old oil out then? Thanks again for the post, greatly appreciated.
  19. Gday Terry, yeah that the exact same thing i asked him!!!!! He laughed at me when i asked too. Yeah i would assume it would slowly go black over time, but instantly seems like a bit of a problem to me, but i dont know anything about the subect so need the pro's (the super experienced skyliners on here) to help me..... Thanks for the post blink_elk, so as the oil is doing its detergent function, does that mean after a few more oil flushes the engine will be clean on the inside, or once its dirty it stays dirty??? Yep silly question, but i honestly have no idea! Cheers.
  20. Howdy, brother just bought a EVO (cheater car hehehe) and came with stock wheels and semi slicks as spares. I took a look at one of the semi slicks and has a HUGE gouge in it (see pic), it still holds air fine. Gouge goes down to the mesh type fabric underneath so its pretty deep. Anyone know if a repair shop can fill the hole in to repair it or anything can be done to it????? Cheers!!!!!!!
  21. Alrighty, I have a fairly modified R33 with HKS GT-RS turbo, all supporting mods, making around 255rwkw. Only had it a few months, bought with all the supporting mods. Engine has been rebuilt with forged pistons, race bearings, reconditioned head, new timing belt, etc. As soon as i got the car, had it serviced, oil went black pretty much straight away. Just had it serviced yesterday, and oil went black after a short drive to the shops and home. The oil is not super sludgy or have chunks of stuff in it or anything just goes really dark, then a little bit darker over time. Car runs fine, current tune is a bit rich, apart from that all seems good. Anyone know why on earth the oil goes black literally instantly? Mechanic said something like "exhaust leak that could be contaminating the oil??????" I am not sure if thats what he said, as i am VERY far from a mechanic so might have heard him wrong. Oil used is Mobil 1, pretty expensive, but happy to pay for good oil. Its my second modified GTST, my first one, the oil always stayed super clear until next service. Oil pressure always fine, car has a Trust Oil Cooler if that matters. I am not a technical person when it comes to engines, so apologies if i have excluded several bits of crucial information. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. hahha thanks dude. Still not sure why they are still here, very odd......
  23. Alrighty these are now only $20 people. Surely someone needs some spares. If they dont go soon i will throw them out, i'd hate to throw out good parts!!!!!
  24. i guess it depends on the type of pads...... i jsut put some second hand stock pads in the rear of my R33 GTST (as the other pads were race type pads and squealed to buggery) and the second hand pads worked fine. Its the second time i have done this. I am far from a brake expert but that what i have done.......
  25. Form faxed, and money paid. Giddy up!!!!!
