  1. As a point of interest Billet Turbochargers can convert the Trust T517z's to a Billet ball bearing core
  2. Weight difference same scales both turbos. GT4202R = 17.2kg Billet SB75-GTS = 8.5kg That would be even lighter with either a TiAL exhaust housing or HKS exhaust housing. The Billet is less than half the weight.
  3. Here is the comp map for the SB70 It will flow a bit more with the GTSR compressor cover
  4. The Garrett T51R and HKS T51R SPL is the same core but are not the same covers / housings. The GT4202, GT45 76mm inducer compressor, T51R, HKS T51R, Billet 76, Billet 74, Billet 72, Turbonetics T72, T74, T76, PTE 76, PTE 74, PTE 72 all use essentially the same compressor wheel in different trims. Don't be fooled by thinking any of them is a newer design. They are very good comp wheels but are all same same. The New Billet B76-GTS uses a T7 7075 billet compressor wheel that is of the same design but is stronger and lighter. Other compressor wheels that should be looked at in this frame size are The Billet S72-GTS, Billet S75-GTS and BorgWarner S372, BorgWarner S375, BorgWarner S475. Again all these comp wheels are from the same casting but in different trims. These are extended tip technology compressor wheels (ETT). This is some technology that is fairly new to the performance seen. These comp wheels have a much lower surge limit, flow more and are exceptionally efficient at high pressure ratios. The Billet S72-GTS and BorgWarner S372 flow similar to a GT4202 but have a 72mm inducer. The Billet S75 and BorgWarner S475 out flow the HKS T51R SPL by around 8lb/min, have much lower surge limit, and are super efficient at high pressure ratios. The down side to the BorgWarner’s is they are quite bulky (They are freaking huge) and are only available as Journal bush bearing turbos. The Billet S72-GTS and S75-GTS are exactly the same size as the HKS T51R but the Billet Turbo's are about 20mm shorter than the HKS. Here is some comp covers to compare One of the HKS T04Z compressor covers. Note the extended defuser area. Garrett GT4202 .69 A/R Comp Cover Garrett T51R .72 A/R Comp Cover. The PTE comp cover is very similar to this but is a .75 A/R Picture is of the New Billet GTSR Comp Cover as used on all the above Billet Turbo models. It can be used as a reference point for the HKS T51R Comp Cover as well, they are both very similar. Note the extended defuser area and bigger A/R GTSR Cover is on the right Billet B76-GTS Comp Wheel Billet S75 and BorgWarner S475 comp wheel. This can also be used as a reference for the Billet S72 and Borg S372. Same comp wheel different trim. Billet SB70 Compressor wheel As Jet-r31 has mentioned the Billet SB70-GTQ and SB70-GTS are absolute animals of turbos. Now they come standard with the Billet GTSR comp cover there is not another 900hp - 950hp turbo on the planet that comes close. HKS T51R KAI, grate turbo but got nothing on the Billet SB70-GTS. Comparison front to back of Garrett T51R, HKS T51R SPL, Billet 76-GTS, Billet B76-GTS and Billet S75-GTS Compressor covers: Garrett T51R has a TA .72 A/R (see picture above) HKS T51R has a very nice light custom compressor cover with extended defuser, anti surge and larger A/R Billet GTSR compressor cover is a light weight purpose built race cover with extended defuser area, anti surge optional, larger A/R Compressor Wheels: Garrett T51R, cast aluminium HKS T51R SPL, cast aluminium Billet 76, cast aluminium Billet B76, T7 7075 billet aluminium, light weight and strong Billet S75, cast aluminium, lower surge limit and flows more. Very efficient at high pressure ratios Back Plates: Garrett T51R, cast iron, heavy HKS T51R SPL, ??? Billet 76, billet aluminium, light weight Billet B76, billet aluminium, light weight Billet S75, billet aluminium, light weight Core: Garrett T51R, cast iron, heavy HKS T51R SPL, cast iron, heavy Billet 76, billet aluminium, light weight Billet B76, billet aluminium, light weight Billet S75, billet aluminium, light weight Ball bearing system: Garrett T51R, steel ball bearings, brass bearing cage. Heavy HKS T51R SPL, steel ball bearings, brass bearing cage. Heavy Billet 76, high grade silicon nitride (Ceramic) ball bearings. No bearing cage, No extra drag, super light, super strong. Billet B76, high grade silicon nitride (Ceramic) ball bearings. No bearing cage, No extra drag, super light, super strong. Billet S75, high grade silicon nitride (Ceramic) ball bearings. No bearing cage, No extra drag, super light, super strong. Turbines: Garrett T51R, Old school TA51. GMR or Inconel HKS T51R SPL, Old school TA51. Inconel Billet GTS, Modern turbine. Inconel Exhaust Housings: Garrett T51R, Garrett TA exhaust housings. TA and T4 inlet HKS T51R SPL, Very nice custom light weight. 1.00 A/R and 1.20 A/R, V/band inlet Billet 76, Open or divided, To many A/R's s to list. T3 inlet, T04 inlet, TA inlet. Can be custom ordered with HKS or TiAL exhaust housings as well. Billet B76, Open or divided, To many A/R's s to list. T3 inlet, T04 inlet, TA inlet. Can be custom ordered with HKS or TiAL exhaust housings as well. Billet S75, Open or divided, To many A/R's s to list. T3 inlet, T04 inlet, TA inlet. Can be custom ordered with HKS or TiAL exhaust housings as well. Over all size : They are all very similar in physical size. The Billet's are around 20mm shorter. Lightest: Assuming they are all in the same exhaust housing Billet B76-GTS Theoretical fastest spooling: Assuming they are all in the same A/R exhaust housing. Billet B76-GTS Most horsepower potential: 1) Billet S75-GTS 2) Billet B76-GTS, Billet 76-GTS 3) HKS T51R SPL 4) Garrett T51R Most expensive: HKS T51R SPL Cheapest: Garrett T51R Recommended Retail Prices: Garrett T51R, $2600.00 HKS T51R SPL, $5350.00 Billet 76-GTS, $2850.00 Billet B76-GTS, $3100.00 Billet S75-GTS, $2950.00
  5. Would of swapped right over but the comp covers are different. Exhaust housings are same, same but machined to suit their different turbines. We will often use a GT30R exhaust housing and machine it to suit a GT35R if there is no GT35R housing available as I’m sure most other turbo shops do as well.
  6. The GT30R and GT35R use the same exhaust housing castings but machined to suit each turbine. As Disco said. Anti surging the GT35R comp cover is probably going to cost you power.
  7. Any good machine shop can machine anti surge into your excisting housing. They will need to know where to put the slot on the compressor though. We charge $120.00 and it is done our CNC.
  8. Hey Disco, Thanks for the comments mate. Not all the HKS T04Z have the extended defuser area. I have seen both some with and some without. You will find the newer HKS T51R KAI and SPL have a similar defuser area. Another cool update is the Billet 76-GTS is available with a T7 billet compressor wheel. The model is called B76-GTS
  9. Unbiased opinion. GT3076R would be good choice But if it was me I could not go past the Billet S56-GT3 with .63 A/R hot side. The S56-GT3 specs are pretty dam good The S56 compressor wheel has a 56mm inducer and 80mm Major + (ETT). Turbine has an exducer of 56.6mm and a major of 65mm and is made of 713C Inconel Compressor map Turbine.
  10. I thought I’d show you guys the new compressor covers. The NEW race cover is standard fitment on all the 70mm to 76mm Billet turbos and all the 66mm to 75mm (ETT) S Series Billet Turbos The Big cover in the pic is the Pro DRAG cover. It suits all the Pro DARG turbos from 88mm to 106mm Sorry for the picture quality. They were taken on my phone. Inside Billet GTSR compressor cover. Note the extended defuser area. Here is some pic's of other compressor covers to compare. Garrett TA cover. (Cover used on Garrett T51R) Garrett GT42 cover.
