  1. RTA website Best place to check is there, direct from the source!
  2. Yep, R33 GTSt (same as R3 GT-R) would be a good upgrade. And it will make it easier to get brake pads to suit, too! Unfortunately, QFM are still in the process of making brake pads for the s1 Stagea, but they shouldn't be too far off. Yours is an s2 though Adam, so you're catered for already. And yeah, a better quality of brake fluid with higher operating temperature control would be a great start too.
  3. All the faxes are received here in Sydney, and any SnS-related stuff is kept here to add to the list of entrants, etc. Shell lives in Canberra, so all of the Membership stuff is forwarded to her when we receive it.
  4. All good! I did two driver training days this year, and it's been something I'd been promising myself for YEARS now. I don't know why I waited so long - just be careful you don't get bitten by the track day bug (although that's not entirely a bad thing - better you get your high-speed thrills in the environment that's been built for it, rather than on the road)!
  5. Yeah, I find them great too! I noticed that I don't move around in the seat anywhere near as much, which is what I wanted. When I still had the standard seats in, I'd go for drives through the twisties, and (especially) at the first track day I did, I was constantly holding onto the wheel and bracing myself with my legs against the door and centre console. I don't know if they'd bolt straight into an M35 - the seat bolt patterns on C34s is the same as R32 and R33, so I had no issues. Probably your best bet is to see if you can borrow a set (or even just a single seat) from someone and see if the holes line up. The only thing I had to do when I got my seats back from the trimmer was swap the seat belt buckle over to the ones off the Stagea seats, as the wiring for the seat belt tensioner/warning light is different, and also the tongue for the standard seatbelt wouldn't fit into the R32 buckle.
  6. Honestly, save yourself the money, buy an N/A, and spend more time and money doing driver training and track days and improving YOURSELF first, then worry about getting a newer turbocharged car when you're older, more mature, it's more affordable for you, and it's actually LEGAL for you to drive it. Like others have said, if you buy a turbocharged car and remove all the gear off it, it's still classed as a turbocharged and now also a modified car by the RTA and police because it was built as a turbocharged car from the factory, so essentially you're still not complying to the rules. It seems like you're asking for advice, and then completely ignoring what advice is being given...
  7. Looks great!
  8. I was just referring to what Sam said - it should go straight in, but you'll (most likely) have to change the clutch operation from pull to push. The ATTESA system shouldn't be a worry, as far as I know - just buy a complete R32 box including the transfer case.
  9. If you want your Skyline thrills now, just buy a non-turbo one and save your money in the mean time until you are legally allowed to drive a turbo-charged one. An R32 GTS or GTS25, an R33 GTS or GTS4, or an R34 GT are all options. Seriously, a factory non-turbo car will run better than a turbocharged one with the turbo and associated hardware removed, because the non-turbo car will be built and tuned to run without it (higher compression ratio, different ECU mapping, etc.).
  10. Hey mate, welcome to this section of the forums! It comes down to a few factors when choosing a car: If you want a factory manual, then your choices run to a series 1 260RS, or either the series 2 RS Four-S or 260RS models. What do YOU prefer, looks and features wise? Which of the cars you're considering buying is in better condition overall? Have you checked out and compared insurance costs to see if they'd be the same? What upgrades would you like to do that aren't on either car yet? Were quality parts used for the upgrades, and was the work done to a decent enough standard? Have you driven either of the cars you're considering buying, and how did they feel to you? What bad reports have you heard about the suspension? Don't forget, these are not exactly sports cars, so you can't expect it to handle "perfectly" considering the compromises that have to come with the extra weight and practicality of it being a wagon.
  11. It should be a given, with the mild "disclaimer' about the pull-to-push conversion. My s1 has a 32 GTR box in it, if that helps.
  12. It really depends for me - if my friends own equally nice cars (or at least take care of their cars) and they would lend them to me if I needed, then I would consider it. Granted, it would have to be someone I knew well, or at least absolutely know for sure that they were trust-worthy. There are quite a few friends and relatives that I have no hesitation in letting drive my car, and others that I know equally well who I refuse to let drive my car! In fact, with one of my best friends, I've offered to let him drive on a number of occasions, and a few weeks ago when we were out delivering something to another friend of mine, he asked me for the keys, and I gave them to him without hesitation. It's an extreme rarity that I let someone drive my car if they ask me for a run in it.
  13. Maybe just a long exposure, with the saturation bumped up really high in PP???
  14. Give me a buzz, Craig. I can't remember if you saw mine at the last Stagea meet, but I bought some R32 GTR seats a while back, then had them re-trimmed. I got the same guy to re-trim my back seat to match the fronts, and he did the centre section of the door panels as well. Pretty good pricing, and he did a great job!
  15. Love the blue eyes in the third shot, Sidd! Are they contacts? Her eyes don't look blue in any of the other shots.
  16. Ahhhh, so tempted to do this! I'll HAVE to keep this in mind and make sure nothing else is on my schedule for this day. 15min sessions are perfect at OPGP - just enough time to get some good laps in, without burning yourself out or over-cooking your car!
  17. Thread closed... -RBD2- (Rodney) has been contacted and informed that there's going to be quite a few changes going on at the workshop, including a change of ownership and full renovation, so this has been postponed until at least the New Year. A new thread will be started once details are set in place for the Dyno Day next year.
  18. I forgot to mention that on Tuesday night I spotted a dark (not sure what colour, noticed it at the last minute, and it was dark) C34 Stagea on Greystanes Road in Greystanes - it was around 7.30pm-ish.
  19. Bump! C'mon people, if we don't have enough entrants, then SAU-NSW cannot justify the cost of a trophy just for the Stageas displayed on the day... TEN BUCKS is all it will cost you to enter!!!
  20. Here's a few I took when I was in Canberra in July, just after I'd bought my camera and was starting to learn how to use it... I only just tonight did some enhancements to the images (crop, saturation adjustments and highlight/shadows) and I quite like them... All photos are at the National Museum of Australia. This first one is just outside where the foyer, cafeteria and gift shop are. This one is the same area, but further down. This one is out the front in the forecourt - shame I didn't have a proper flash at that stage as I couldn't catch my cousin in the foreground (the on-camera flash would have been pretty much useless). Outside out the back of the museum.
  21. Ooooh, nice one John - glad to see this thing coming back to life! Will it be ready for Show n Shine?
  22. Soft, Danny, very soft...
  23. Hahaha, I was gonna message you, Malcolm, to see if you'd be keen to come along and display your wonder-car again!
  24. Not to mention that awesome dark green s1 C34! Bloody weirdo - 'sif blame it on the wife for needing the Stagea to transport a bunch of her friends into the city or what-not... 'sif best handling, too... LOL!!!
  25. Yep, they look awesome, but too damned expensive! Where did you get yours, if you don't mine me asking, and roughly how much???
