  1. New SAU-NSW Members' Cruise added!
  2. I'm with everyone else in saying that a 35-framed turbo would probably be a bit big and laggy on a Stagea. IMO, having it on an RB25 in an R32 would be quite a bit different due to the fact that the R32 is a much lighter car. In the Stagea, you'd want the boost to come on earlier to overcome the extra weight being carried around, especially with an auto. If I had a biggish turbo on a car I was using as my daily driver, it would probably eventually get on my nerves as I prefer to have a good amount of low-end response balanced with the higher-rev power. Even though it has potential to use less fuel (due to spending less time on boost), I would rather have the response available to me when I needed it - then again, I don't drive for economy, anyway...
  3. Got home from Canberra about 3hrs ago, while I was down there I spotted a silver R35 GT-R on my way to Queanbeyan last night (and some other supercar, but can't even remember what it was, because I wasn't expecting to see an R35 on my travels, and I was kinda stunned), and spotted Shell today!
  4. Umm, I don't remember having gone anywhere on Friday afternoon because I had people over at my house... And my car was in the garage, so this is a bit of a mystery to me. Do I have a clone? You sure it wasn't Thursday?
  5. Happy birthday, Chubbs!
  6. Also, this afternoon at around 6pm(?) I spotted Jason Round in the HPI project Mitsubishi Galant, heading along Old Windsor Road from Northmead towards the Hills.
  7. Spotted Tom tonight at the intersection of the M2 entry and Pennant Hills Rd while I was on my way home from the Coastie Cruise. (Well, I know I spotted a silver R33, now I know who it was... )
  8. Spotted a white s2 on Concord Road going over the M4 today at 2.10pm, it was heading towards Parramatta Road. Didn't see the rego plates, but it did have a pretty big sticker on the back windscreen.
  9. Yep, I bought mine through him, and he might still have some, so it's worth a try. Here's a link to him... It's not really like Zoom/HPI/Fast Fours, etc., but there are a lot of reader and workshop cars, with heaps of ideas, a parts catalogue (which covers body kits, engine upgrades, suspension, wheels, interior, electronics, etc.), a DIY section, factory specs on the cars (both C34 and M35 are covered), and heaps of other stuff.
  10. I won't say it's my last car, but I've had it for just over 3 years now, still love it as much as the day I first picked it up (if not even more as I've slowly made changes to my taste and requirements), and I will probably keep it for quite some time longer. I'd love to own a manual JZX100 Chaser, but I can't justify (and probably won't be able to afford) owning two cars and don't want to sell the Stagea any time soon!
  11. This one is a doco more than a movie. I've had it for years, and can't understand why I'd forgotten to add it, but it's "Super Speedway." I'm sure I'm not the only one who's seen this. It features Mario and Michael Andretti, and is narated by Paul Newman. The cars used are from the Newman/Haas team, and it was filmed for IMAX, so the quality, even today, stands up quite well! Set up your home theatre, turn up the volume and play this one on a big screen! SuperSpeedway.com
  12. Yep, Kiwi Kim was working at Wicked Ink in Penrith (might still be working there, maybe circulating between a few shops, who knows?), my cousin went there for his tattoo and I went with him on the day he booked it in with her and again when he had the first session done. She's an awesome chick, and did a great job on his tat. One of my friends also went to see a guy called Trevor when he was working at Wicked Ink too, but this was quite a while ago and apparently he's moved on. Trevor's work was amazing, too!
  13. It also depends heavily not only on where you go, but on which artist you get to do your work.
  14. I'm with the above on this, because AFAIK, the RS-Four S and 260RS both use a complete R33 GT-R rear cradle. I would have assumed that the RS-Four S would use the GT-R box too, though, unless the R33 GTS4 box is the same anyway... Probably the best way is to get some VINs and do a cross-check on the FAST system.
  15. Yep, I, too agree on this!
  16. Don't forget that it's already an automatic license suspension for anything 30+km/h over the speed limit, isn't it? What they should be doing (and people will keep discussing this, but it will probably never happen, which is even more frustrating) is teaching people to KEEP LEFT on major freeways if they're not bloody well overtaking RAISE the speed limits in areas where the road and conditions are appropriate crack down on speeding during school zone times (I FULLY support this, my mind set is "imagine that was my kid/niece/nephew who almost got run over") making people more alert to what's going on around them, not just in that road space directly in front of their own car In my mind, COMMON COURTESY would go a long way to changing people's attitudes on the roads. As for catching people 1-10km/h over and fining them for that, I'm sure Mark (mlr) and I won't be the only people to debate the fact that this would go against the Federal ADRs stating that there's a 10% margin for error on speedometers on all new cars, so how could a driver possibly know that they are travelling at EXACTLY 60km/h in a 60 zone? And for that matter, shouldn't they be more focussed on the environment around their moving car than that little bunch of numbers on the dashboard? I could go on forever, and I know plenty of you all will also have some good suggestions here too.
  17. Spotted a silver 997-series 911 Turbo yesterday stopped under one of the overpasses on the M4 about 400m from the tollgates.
  18. I watched Vanishing Point last night, and it was great - one big car chase thrashing a white 1970 Dodge Challenger across from Colorado to California. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067927/
  19. The third car was probably the dark blue Mazda3 MPS that was with them last night, so seeing as the Impreza/WRX looks so much like the Mazda3, I'm not surprised that you'd be confused into thinking it was a Spewbaru.
  20. I see you lurking, Greg. Where have you been hiding, and will you be bringing yourself to this one?
  21. My C34 has no sun roofs (rooves?) There is (apparently) at least one Autech with them optioned, and it's here in Australia. It was for sale for quite a while, and if I remember correctly was a black s2, one of the very last to be built, and was up in Qld.
  22. Meeting at Abbott Road is fine, either across the road from McDonald's/BP or across the road from the Hungry Jack's/Caltex/Red Rooster. I usually turn right off Station Road onto Abbott and head towards the M2 that way, but I'll call or SMS you tomorrow to confirm it. The sets of lights at both Costello Place and Forge Street take forever to change when you want to get back onto Abbott, so if I can avoid doing that, it'd be great.
  23. I think that might be the same s1 that my friend told me about last week, with different coloured panels here and there...
  24. That's a damned shame, Ian. Hope you're able to come along next week. Anyone else coming, though?
