  1. Hmmm, never been there, and didn't even know they existed, yet they're literally right around the corner from me... Let me know how you go, Stephen. I've been taking my car to Sydney Car Wash on Old Windsor Road in Baulkham Hills for a few years now, after the recommendation of a few friends, but only for car washing. They also use only Meguiar's products.
  2. Welcome to the world of Stageas! 1 - apparently winding odometers back is still possible even with the digital dash, not sure how common it is, but some of us have seen evidence of it before. 2 - front CV joints should be fairly reliable as long as the car hasn't had too much of a hard life. Unfortunately there are still many car owners who still treat their cars like crap, so this will obviously have an effect. 3 - never dealt with this company, even though I live in NSW, so I can't offer you any opinions there either way... 4- this all depends on your age, driving history, location, etc. I'd recommend Shannons, but I'm a fair bit over 25yo, have a garage to keep my car in, and have a good driving history with no claims and no driving infringements. Other insurers used include Famous, Just Cars, etc.
  3. That'd be Ferdy, he has a shop just off Sunnyholt Rd. This arvo just before 4pm I spotted a silver 4-door R33 with FMIC and no front bumper on Best Road in Seven Hills, it had the Impul "eyebrow" style covers on the rear lights, too.
  4. That's a pretty big intersection, so if he'd lost it so bad to not be able to recover it in that space, he must have been really pushing it from standstill...
  5. Hmm, apart from the wheels (I prefer deep-dish wheels, and they also look too small) and the fact it needs something in the grill to break up that mass, I like it!
  6. Dave, do you still have all the door cards (i.e. interior door panels)? I'm heading to Canberra early March and can pick them up if you've got them and are willing to sell.
  7. Still got the Nismo catalogue, Daniel, or did that sale go through? I've already got both HyperRev books...
  8. Yeah, I'm noticing them around heaps more too - 245/265s, 745s, 850s especially! You've gotta admit, that thing sounds awesome!
  9. Hahaha, spotted Stephen in his freshly-acquired M35 on Thursday night!
  10. Can't make it, I've got a Christening in the morning and leaving that early to head to an SAU meeting for the Execs so we can discuss our direction for the year ahead...
  11. Duncan, Transporter 1 and 2 are now set aside to bring with me tomorrow. Transporter 3 is at the movies now, and is set for release on Blu-Ray and DVD on March 10 (in the US, anyway - who knows if it'll be the same here). Gotta find a copy of Rendezvous and Le Mans, I think I have Climb Dance somewhere here. I know I lost a whole heap of car vids when my spare hard drive for the computer epic failed a few years back and I just couldn't recover it no matter what I tried, and I think Climb Dance was amongst it... Go Kel!!!
  12. Updated and added to the Skylines Australia Events thread here in the Stagea section.
  13. Like Benny's yellow KE55 wagon that you saw last night? That car's funny - it tears through the corners, but as soon as it sees a hint of upward incline, it disappears from your rear-view mirror as you easily maintain speed up the same hills with just a mild flex of your right toe.
  14. Pod IS a defect if it's not properly enclosed (rules might be different in WA), so either buy or make a decent surround for it. Having a surround will also minimise the amount of hot air getting into the engine, although this should automatically be a bit lower due to the fact that this car is a non-turbo.
  15. Gotta love that AWD, right? If I was stupid enough to street-race and risk my license and car, the results in the rain would almost always swing my way against Falcadores, etc. with RWD.
  16. All good, the rain was a bit of a deterrent and it bucketed down while we were heading through Mt White, if I remember correctly. But it was clear enough once we got there, just a bit too cold. Are we still in summer? Who cares about C34s outnumbering M35s or vice-versa? I think we should first focus on Stageas outnumbering (or at least approaching) the number of Skylines there!
  17. Went to see this track around 6 months ago, as it was in its last stages of being finished. Great concept, but I must warn you it is a very short track.
  18. Spotted a black R34 GTt with the huge Nismo wing and a white shopping list on it about 15mins ago, heading along Station Road in Toongabbie.
  19. Good to hear you enjoyed yourself last night, Stephen, and that you're enjoying your new purchase! Also good to know you live so locally.
  20. Duncan, I'm going thru my old movies and anything I REALLY like I'm updating to Blu-Ray versions. Looking for an excuse to update the two Transporter movies, as well as Death Proof and a few others. If you want either or all of them, you can have them cheap cheap!!! Other movies with good car chases and/or scenes include Crank and Ferris Beuller's Day Off. I'm sure there are heaps more out there. A quick Google search came up with these sites: Varaces.com Top 10 Car Chase Movies - MSNBC CarChaseMovies.com Movies for Guys - Top 10 Car Chases I've already got Blu-Ray copies of Bullitt and Ronin. I've also just bought Wanted, but haven't watched it yet.
  21. My best mate rang me today and told me he'd seen a Stagea with a different-coloured door and front guard in his travels around the North Shore, we're guessing it was the victim of an accident. My sister also mentioned she saw a white Stagea today on the way home from work in Epping, and it went in the same direction as her along Epping Road, Beecroft Rd, Carlingford Rd, onto Pennant Hills Rd towards Parramatta, before turning off into a residential street.
  22. If only the R34-front conversion was that easy...
