  1. Happy birthday, Brad!
  2. Iz it 'cos I iz bleck?
  3. Timmeh, not sure where you are in NSW, but you should have gone into Lincorp (Parramatta Nissan are part of this group) and shown your membership card for SAU-NSW - they would probably have given you a discount equivalent to the trade price or similar. I think there is also some account number you have to quote to get the SAU-NSW discount as well as show your card, but details would be in the NSW Members' section.
  4. Yep, valid points - the time, monetary outlay and the stresses involved are good enough reason to not pursue it. Re: keeping out of harm's way, had I been in that situation I would have stated that I was trying to create a safety buffer between myself and other traffic, due to the extra vulnerability you're exposed to with no "safety cage" when riding a motorbike.
  5. Ouch, that's gotta suck! Sorry to hear.
  6. Really? When I bought mine, it had one hot-dog resonator about 18" long and just the rear cannon on it. I never got it measured for noise, but it was headache-inducing on any long-ish trips, and never had any troubles with driving right next to police. When I got the PFC, dump/front pipe and hi-flow cat installed, I also got them to add another muffler, the've removed the resonator completely.
  7. Yep, it's a parking assist thing. My cousin has one on his R33 4-door, but his one actually has a switch inside the car so he can extend or retract it, kinda like an electric antenna for the stereo. I'm not sure if Eddie's one does that too, can't tell from the photos.
  8. More of you Sydney boys (and girls?) should come along to our regular Thursday night meet-ups. Tony "NRVOUS" (as well as Craig "Jetwreck" and Andy "andy65b" amongst the M35 crew) can vouch that it's a good run along the Old Pac, and if you choose to follow us all the way up to Erina on the Central Coast, there's a good group of people to hang around with and minimal problems with the Authorities if you all behave yourselves! Tony, did any of the Bavarian-driving crew get any tyres to actuallly squeal this time around?
  9. Best thing to do, Ryan, is get a high-flow muffler added and make sure the exhaust shop/workshop tests it for a legal dB output reading. At least that way you know you're not strangling the car with a too-small exhaust just so you can get it past the EPA.
  10. Woot! Congratulations, Michele, you did yourself, SAU and all the women of the world proud!
  11. Nice idea in theory, but they'll likely turn it against us regardless... They like to work on the scare factor, and to the general public WE are the menace simply because 1) we choose cars that are different to the norm; 2) we choose to modify our cars to some extent, however mild; and 3) we actually ENJOY driving our cars, as opposed to merely being commuters getting from point A to point B.
  12. I agree with Steve-O on this, Adam, you should contest it, purely on principle. You were genuinely concerned for your safety and rode accordingly - there's no law against wanting to be out of harm's way, surely?
  13. Pfffft, the Belgians stole the language, so I'm stealing their race-track and temporarily moving it a bit closer until I can summon up enough fellow SAUers to help me bring it here to Australia on a permanent basis. Sydney has lost too many circuits, so we'll just replace them with a big Spa!
  14. Yep, that about covers it. There were also a very small amount of s1's that were fitted with the non-turbo Neo motors right at the end of the s1 model cycle.
  15. Check out the video here: http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/souped-u...zarre-supercars
  16. OK peoples, I'll be cruising up this week as per normal, but I have another quick message for you all: If you're not already an SAU-NSW club member, sign up quick-smart and send me a PM as soon as you do, as we have our yearly SAU-NSW Christmas Cruise on this weekend!!! Sign up for membership HERE!
  17. hahahaha, cool! Now, convince someone to produce it, please! Actually, speaking of which, we need some more Stagea models to be produced by all the big model makers, especially in 1:18-scale die-cast format. I'd LOVE to add a few of these to my collection.
  18. Another awesome Sydney-based Stagea that's missing out on our Thursday night fun! Eddie, get yourself to our regular weekly cruises up the coast, please!!! Oh yeah, I love the little parking-assist antenna on our front bumper, too.
  19. Spotted two C34's tonight within the space of half an hour, but I was "passengering" in my sister's Mazda3. The first was a red s2 on Fitzwilliam Road in Toongabbie as we were turning left into the servo, and the driver looked a bit like StageIan, who I haven't seen in a while, so not sure if he still owns it... My sister said she thinks she saw an SAU sticker on the front windscreen too. The second was a silver s1 heading along Seven Hills Road, driver was a male maybe in his 40's or early 50's maybe, I dunno.
  20. Can we move Richard's Spa, maybe from the front yard to my back yard ?
  21. From the information gathered through the negative experiences of two (and hopefully not more) buyers, they found out that 2004 and onwards models did not, for some strange reason, meet the emissions standards set by the ADRs or whatever, even though the same engines were still being used as those in the pre-2004 models that ARE eligible for import here. So, basically, due to some ridiculous red tape -and unless it's changed since then - you can't legally bring in and have complied any models built after November 2003... There are a few threads on this, and a quick search will reveal more in detail...
  22. Speaking of which, we forgot to get one for Benny's birthday, his was last weekend.
  23. My shade of green too, but like Hugh's, the similarities end there with mine too. Where is that rear wing from? I love it!
  24. I'd love to see the video footage as well if you get it recorded. Post it up on YouTube, then link it here. You can even get it to show directly on this page if you put [ video ] and [ /video ] tags on each side of the web link. Example: [ video ] "link to video on YouTube" [ /video ] (Ignore the spaces, of course...)
  25. "Fuzzy" the chick who presents a music show on MTV or Channel V or whatever it is has nothing to do with "Fuzzy" who hold all the festivals and run nights at clubs. "Fuzzy" the promoters have been around since the mid-90's, and they were the ones that created Sublime when it was a club in Pitt Street, not just a themed night at Home nightclub. http://fuzzy.com.au/ Am I showing my age yet?
