  1. Brake rotors are prone to warping on all automatic cars because when a car is brought down to a stop, such as at a set of traffic lights, the brake is used to hold the car in place. Because there is already heat in the brakes from slowing the car, and the fact that all that heat is concentrated in one spot on the rotors while the car is at a stand-still, the rotors are softer in that area and more likely to be pushed out of shape.
  2. Brad, was it wine red, with JAG69B plates or similar? I've spotted that car a few times, but haven't seen it in ages...
  3. Man, the stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me - like others have said, how can anyone get enjoyment from doing something like this? Hope your mate's old man recovers well from the shock.
  4. As Dale mentioned, it's not a closed system - the oil is shared with the motor so it will pretty much sort itself out as the oil is pumped through the turbo and back into the engine.
  5. Hmm, I wonder if that is Ryan aka BOZ22N?
  6. *posts video of me throwing my RS-Four around with otherwise unbelievable skill and poise* Pffft, I wish.
  7. Hmm, right colour (same as my car), right city, but I've got nowhere to store it, unfortunately.
  8. Hahaha, thanks Charlie! Spotted a wine red M35 on Saturday afternoon at around 1.30pm going through the drive-thru at Rouse Hill McDonalds. I was at a very small meet-up there with a few other SAU members (I'm guessing the weather kinda made everyone decide to stay home), and was kinda hoping he'd stop too, but he kept going straight through after grabbing his feed.
  9. It's about to be repeated, starts in 10mins (2.30am)...
  10. Ouch, sorry to hear, dude. Whereabouts on Abbott Road was it? If it was near the Hungry Jacks/Caltex or closer to the McDonalds/BP, then you might have some luck with getting camera footage. Hopefully they'll have cameras set up to see the area of the road where you were hit.
  11. Awesome, Jon, thanks for that! I just watched it and it is definitely worth downloading! I don't have iQ, nor a working video or DVD recorder, so had no means of recording it.
  12. Channel 612 - National Geographic - are about to run a doco called "Inside" Supercar" about the building of the new GT-R. It starts at 8.30pm tonight... Not sure if this is the first time it's been run, or when/if it is going to be repeated. Enjoy!
  13. Spotted Craig "Jetwreck" and Ian "zei201" at the Berowra truck stop tonight!
  14. Alright, I'm only going to Berowra tonight if anyone reads this...
  15. There's usually quite a few who do the Old Pacific. I usually head up the freeway, but seeing as it was "zei201" Ian's first time on the Coastie cruise, I went with them on the Old Pacific last week too. It's been resurfaced in quite a few areas, so it's quite nice to drive now.
  16. Jet, looks like it will quite possibly be raining tomorrow night anyway (thunderstorms are predicted for the Gosford area), so I haven't washed mine either.
  17. OK, so who's up for tomorrow night? I might head up, I'm not sure yet - either way I'll probably head to Berowra if a few of you are keen to meet up, and then either decide from there whether I go all the way to Erina, or stay in Berowra and visit my cousin.
  18. Good luck Jess, and have fun! That Ken Block WRX video is insane, I saw it the other day and spun out!
  19. I was at the dyno day, TT, but I didn't put my car on the dyno. I was out there mainly to hlp out and sell some SAU merchandise, etc. Typically, I was the only Stagea owner there. I'm guessing Alex would have come along, but I think he had prior commitments.
  20. Spotted a silver V35 sedan going through from Fitzwilliam Road onto Station Road in Toongabbie, rego BEX-01U.
  21. I'm guessing it has an effect on how the air circulates within the airbox, and this is what reduces the noise. Maybe it creates sound at a certain frequency which "cancels out" other noises which naturally occur at an opposite end of the frequency range. This is how sound-cancelling headphones work, so maybe this is similar.
