  1. Nice one Jonnie! Welcome to SAU and the Stagea section. Got any pictures?
  2. Yep, if your rego papers show the VIN # starting with "6U900" and the rest matches the actual Nissan VIN on the build plate, then you have nothing to worry about.
  3. Awww man, where was my phone call Richard? I hope you got some more photos.
  4. No you won't - not if you want to keep your licence AND your car... This forum and the club(s) have a pretty good name for ourselves, so anything that flies in the face of that won't be tolerated. If you really want to take your car for the odd thrash, go to an organised track day or the drags at WSID, don't do it on the streets. SAU-NSW organises and/or gets involved in quite a few off-street events so we can all have fun in our cars in a safe, legal environment.
  5. Yeah, actually, my friend's fiancee had a C110 Skyline as her first car (although it was a while back), and she's from Adelaide, so Marssssssss could be onto something.
  6. I doubt you'll have bonnet clearance issues, Brad. I had a look under the bonnet of mine today, and the soundproofing material has cut-outs where the standard cross-over pipe/throttle body, strut brace and rear breather pipes are. Also, the strut brace itself looks like it is actually higher than the section along the firewall where it seals against the back of the bonnet (just in front of the windscreen).
  7. Well, I've currently got 156kW at all 4 wheels, and when I took my cousin for a drive last weekend he mentioned how much better it was accelerating compared to when I first got it. He's got an R33 GTSt (he bought it well before I bought my car), and has previously had a few well-worked Commodores and had the opportunity to drive quite a few quick cars in his time (Porsche 928, genuine Alpina E30 BMW 3-series, etc.).
  8. Spotted a silver R34 GTt on the railway overpass bridge this afternoon in Toongabbie, then about 10mins later I spotted a white s1 R33 GTSt at the United servo on Fitzwilliam Rd in Toongabbie being driven by an older dude.
  9. Sponsored!
  10. Yep, they can. The Whiteline springs are shorter, but you'll be using spring compressors to remove the factory springs anyway, so just leave the compressors on the factory springs, replace the shock with the circlips at your preferred height, and then with the standard spring back in place, fit and tighten the top hat properly before *carefully* removing the spring compressors.
  11. Happy B'day, Shaun!
  12. It's too late, Ian, I believe he already has bought the RAV4.
  13. There are plenty of topics and posts about this, please do a search in future! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...ion-t53079.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rs-t236559.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...lin-t85592.html The main difference is that at the rear you will use a different mount at the bottom of the rear shocks due to your car being a factory manual.
  14. No fair, Brad - you're making us all green with envy!
  15. Shame you didn't come along, Joe. I was, once again, the ONLY Stagea there... You all need to check the events section more often, and that goes for people from ALL states. If you're planning an event, or attending one that you think others might be keen on joining in on, send me a PM with links and I will add it to the Events section, which is HERE! Our next Sydney event is the Dyno Day, have a look and please attend! Thread closed.
  16. No wai! Me too! Typically, I was the only Stagea driver to show... *shakes fist* Duncan's was off the road, which is fair enough, but other Stagea owners = Fail!
  17. The difference is that the crumple zones are also intended to reduce the impact on YOU and YOUR PASSENGERS - cars can be repaired and replaced, lives and limbs cannot... As much as I love my car and wouldn't like to lose it or have to have it repaired (a repaired car is hardly ever the same as it was before), I'd rather lose my car than risk my life. Oh, and there have been studies done on the safety of a Smart crashing into an S-class Benz of the same vintage, both in head-on and offset impacts, and the Smart came off surprisingly well, with minimal damage to the safety cell.
  18. Ouch, that sucks!
  19. Yep, and I just received issue 100 in the mail this morning, so they're still out there making magazines.
  20. Nope, I'm guessing the white one with a trailer would have been a series 1, so most likely Duncan.
  21. Like I've mentioned before, I'm not too much of a fan of black rims, but THAT LOOKS HOT!!!
  22. Alex messaged me today mentioning that some SAU member had come in and spoken to him and I had a feeling (don't know why, but I did) that it was you.
  23. Your rims look very similar to the ones that Craig just put on his M35 (see the quote above yours).
  24. Daniel, not sure if you're looking for a C34, but I created a buyers' guide a few years back - it can be accessed here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Bu...n-C-t92065.html if you're looking for an M35, the information is slowly gathering for that model too, and the Stagea section is building with contributions from Andy and quite a few others. Post a question up there, if you want: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...ussion-f82.html
  25. Spotted a black M35 in the parking lot for the consulting rooms near Westmead Children's hospital this afternoon!
