  1. I had a Walbro pump installed in my Stagea and the workshop who did it always installs new power lines to make sure it is receiving all the voltage it requires so it won't lean out.
  2. You might get away with it, Jase, but like I mentioned, if you can get an off-cut from a plastics place close to you, it might cost you nothing but the time it takes for you to drill the holes. Or you could see how much they'd charge to do it for you.
  3. There's also a link to it in the member's thread if you have a quick look in there.
  4. Nice buy, Jase - welcome to our world!
  5. Spotted an F-355 Convertible at Castle Towers about 3hrs ago...
  6. Nice stretch of road. The bunch of us that cruise up for the weekly Coastie cruise find the best place to start the Old Pac is from where the truckstop is in Berowra. Before that it's pretty much a mostly straight stretch of road...
  7. Just go to a place that deals in and works with a lot of plastics, and just ask them if they've got any offcuts of black polyethylene roughly 180mm x 60mm x 10mm. You'll have to trim and file it down a bit, and getting a 52mm hole saw is impossible (I tried about 6 different places, they all had 51mm hole saws, so I had to get one of those and file down the rest of the size until the gauges fit in there). It's time consuming and not quite perfect, but you'll hardly notice afterwards because the outside silver lip of the gauges covers the rough areas. Not sure if you'll fit 60mm gauges in a DIN slot, mine are 52mm units and they're pretty close to just fitting in between the stereo and A/C control units as you can see. If you're in Sydney I can recommend a place on Victoria Avenue in Castle Hill in the industrial complex opposite Hunter Holden. I can't remember the name of the place, but I should have the business card for them here somewhere.
  8. Cool! I wanna see "Herbie Turns Into A Camaro To Follow The Transformers Trend."
  9. The Defi visor looks almost exactly like that too.
  10. It's actually not too bad, Micah, as far as I've noticed. I was tempted to get a gauge hood for it (the Defi one), but I figured I'd see how it was first and then decide if I'd need it. So far, so good.
  11. Lies, Sam. I was nowhere near North Ryde today, and my car is Sherwood Green, not Bayside Blue. And I have standard wheels. No, wait, you said one of the best looking Stageas, so mine is still the best, right?
  12. Sounds like a good idea, but like Jason says, you'll need to provide more information before people would commit to it.
  13. Jase, the JJR DIN holder doesn't fit - I bought one for my car when I got my Defi's, and it's way too wide for the slot in the dash. I went and got a cut-off piece of polyethylene and drilled (and then filed) three holes into it for mine. It's not perfect, but it turned out alright. As you can see, I put the Link Controller unit in the place of the ashtray, but haven't decided what else I'll put there (if anything) to fill the gap. I also bought a single-gauge clock replacement pod from Mearcat for my boost gauge, and it looks great.
  14. EXACTLY - getting the VIN and running it through FAST will let you know exactly what features the car left the factory with, so you'll have a good idea of what's been done to the car by the previous owner(s). I believe the black interior finish is the standard finish on Stageas, and the car should come fitted with 2-piston front and 1-piston rear brakes. If the one you've looked at is pre-November 1998, then it will be a series 1 (which, apart from having the non-NEO engine will also have single headlights (with the yellow fog inside the main unit) and amber indicators on the taillights instead of clear ones. The fluid reservoir in the boot, as Ryan has mentioned, is for the ATTESA system - the only Stagea that came out with HICAS is the RS-Four S, which is a series 2 factory manual.
  15. Go back and put some SAU stickers on it, Nick!
  16. Welcome aboard, Michael. Sydney is a big place, Michael. If you let us know what area you are in, we can get a better idea of where to direct you for a mechanic or parts supplier.
  17. Welcome aboard, Julius, Mark and Chris!
  18. tangles 82, you're kind of implying that Muz has defamated a certain business by naming them publically on these forums. He's quite aware of the forum rules that he's not allowed to do so. If people choose to PM him and ask for the details, then that is fine - a PM is just that: a Private Message. I can understand that you are trying to put the side of the importer forward so that we can see "both sides of the story," but unless you yourself are the importer (or a friend or representative of them, or whatever), then it's equally unfair on Muz that you say that he's not being reasonable about the offers he's been made previously. Unfortunately, tangles82, your posts have upset a number of others on this forum. You've noted that you're not worried about "pissing people off" but some consideration should be given for people in Muz's place who are not just financially out of pocket, but quite possibly emotionally affected by the stresses and strains of being in such a situation. The fact remains that the information given to him in the first instance was that there would be little problem in obtaining compliance certification and that he'd have his car on the road in a reasonable amount of time after purchase and importing, and he (and others) have gone with this information in good faith, and have since been burnt by doing so.
  19. The only problem with the Defi DIN cluster is that you can't choose which gauges are fitted in them, so I went to the hassle and expense of choosing my own gauges, the controller and making a holder for my Oil Temp, Exhaust Temp and Oil Pressure meters.
  20. Brad, what's the go with your car still not appearing in HPI magazine? I remember receiving the mag in the mail and seeing "RB26 Stagea" advertised on the cover, and then... Nothing...
  21. I waved a sparkler around in the backyard with my friends and cousins. We left our run too late and could only get one sparkler each due to a lack of boxes of sparklers at all the shops we visited.* * This may or may not be a fabrication of the truth... HAPPY NEW YEAR'S, everyone!
  22. Really? Is that the one that replaced his first R33 with the Meister S2 wheels on it and NOS25T plates? Damn that first car was hot!!! Ahhh, the good ol' SDU days...
  23. Yeah, like Duncan has mentioned, it's not a bad idea to fit an oil filter relocation kit when you do the oil pressure gauge. I bought one of the rust GReddy ones. The lines are Earls ones with braided covers, so they're a bit hard to manipulate when you're fitting it on, but it's worth it in the end so that your oil changes are that little bit easier. Just make sure you check that there are no leaks when you are done...
  24. Dale, you almost broke the thread... My list is ridiculously long, but I've tried to cut it down to just 5 as per the instructions in the thread. I figured I'd need a daily sedan, a daily wagon, a classic old-school car, and a hot track car for "bending time and science" car (but I chose two of these). My daily sedan: Toyota JZX100 Chaser Tourer V manual, kitted out with some nice wheels (VOLK RE30's, maybe?) Gotta love that 1JZ-GTE with a fe subtle mods My daily wagon: Mines-tuned Autech 260RS Stagea with VOLK CE28N's for some RB goodness. My classic old-school car: KPGC-10 Skyline GT-R "Hakosuka" with a set of bronze or dark silver Watanabe rims. My track/thrash weapons: an R35 GT-R and a McLaren F1 When people ask me to name my dream car, I never can narrow it down to one, so I now have a practiced response: "I don't have a dream car, I have a constantly-growing dream garage..."
  25. I was in Parra this morning too - bloody parking inspectors were watching people like vultures going in for the post-kill feed!
