Autech is kinda like Nismo - they're a factory-certified tuner (just like AMG, HSV, FPV/Tickford, etc.) who do special work for the Nissan factory, anything from the (very rare, but very real) 4-door R33 GT-Rs, to the 260RS Stagea (basically a series 1 RS-Four or series 2 RS-Four S Stagea with extra body strengthening and R33 GT-R running gear), through to modifications for people with disabilities who need wheelchair access to their cars, etc. http://www.autech.co.jp/EN/index.html

Regret to inform, but it could also be your turbo spitting bits of the wheel off. It could be either of the wheels too, mine had a few chipped ceramic turbine wheels, and the nylon compressor wheel shattered completely when the shaft gave way! I got that sort of shuddering just before my turbo blew about a year and a half ago.

The 2WD and AWD Stageas have different front suspension layouts, so could this be a factor? Maybe the front brakes are also different between the 2WD and AWD models.

I got an RTA tag years ago too. You know what's really fked up? The RTA commissions that they create two lane freeways just about everywhere, and then 5-10 years later they decide it should have had 3-4 lanes each way instead. It actually costs them a ridiculously disproportionate amount above and beyond to do it this way instead of just making it 3 or 4 lanes each way in the first place! And the 3 lane areas are in the areas where there's LESS of a concentration of people and traffic - what's the story with that? Do they not have ANY sense of logic? Speaking of useless tolls, why are we still paying to use the Harbour Bridge?

Might be an idea to chuck the Stagea and a few Skylines on some jack-stands so people can actually see the components you've helped develop - it will help people get a better grasp on what goes where and how each component contributes to ride/handling, etc.

I've just bought one from JustJap too, but haven't fitted it yet. I was told that to install it you have to make sure you put the bottom two nuts/bolts on BEFORE the others, or you won't have enough free-play to get them on later. This is apparently where most people seem to have problems. Are your issues with fitting it different to that, and if so, how? If your Stagea is a 97, that means it has the s2 R33 Skyline motor with the plastic compressor wheel, but the actual turbo is not different enough between s1 and s2 R33s to make a difference to how they attach.

Forgot to mention I saw a black R34 GT-R parked at the Towers on Saturday afternoon around 1.45pm

My sister says she saw a white Stagea with Victorian plates on it parked on Hammers Road in Northmead/Old Toongabbie yesterday. It was outside or just near the Seventh Day Adventist Church when she drove past it.
