  1. Hey Dave, firstly, welcome to Skylines Australia! To answer your questions, as far as the TV reception goes, Japan uses NTSC signals just like America, so you might get sounds coming through, but no picture, as we use the PAL system here in Oz - I'm assuming you're from Australia too... Playing CDs won't be a problem, of course, but radio reception will require a band converter so that you can receive the local 87.0 to 108.0MHz signals. As for the rest of the issues, I couldn't tell you personally, as mine didn't have the SatNav/TV in it, and therefore my A/C controls are separate. Like leetom has mentioned, it has been covered before, so if you do a search and still can't find an answer, post up a new thread. According to the research I've done, all RS models are turbocharged, and if you have a look at the car in question (whether in the metal or just through photos), it should be easy to tell if it's turbocharged or not just by looking at the engine itself. If it's a 2000 model, it will be running the Neo6 engine from the R34 Skylines, and the word "turbo" should be clearly marked on the big plastic engine cover. If you don't have access to the car, or any photos, try and get a VIN number and get someone to run it through FAST, as newbie101 has stated. Fuel consumption is in the 11-16l/100kms range, depending on how you drive and a few other factors here and there. 9.8l/100kms is a bit of a stretch - maybe that's what the "official" figures might be, but in the real world you'd be lucky to achieve that in most cars! Whatever happens, you'll be happy with your purchase - there aren't that many cars out there that compete when you weigh up all the features that the Stagea has, especially compared to the local offerings.
  2. I'm keen for spectator/helper-outerer duties, as I've already mentioned, Adam.
  3. Went to Young out in the sticks over the weekend, and spotted an R31 (plates were "R31"), and two black R33 GTSt's (one had a GTR badge on it). Out in that area it's Commodore, Commodore, Magna, Commodore, Commodore, Statesman, Commodore ute, Commodore, Commodore, Falcon, 4WD, Commodore, 4WD, Falcon, Commodore, Camry, Commodore, Statesman, Falcon, 4WD, Commodore ute, Falcon ute, and then your usual assortment of small cars...
  4. Happy Birthday, girls! Wish I could have been there! Looks like you all had a good time!

  6. Good work, Mikey - sometimes they need some "encouragement"
  7. Nah, I don't think it was E-Lu-Shun, this one had a rear spoiler and stock wheels... Doesn't he have custom (or at least distinctive) number plates, too? This one had regular plates on it.
  8. The Poopra is not BS. But it should have been a JZX100 Chaser or an Aristo.
  9. Good work on this guys - like others have said, it's good to know that people are willing and able to stand up for what they believe in, and follow it through to the end. I saw the article in today's paper, and was just finishing scanning the paper before I made a thread about it, but Adam's beat me to it!
  10. New SAU shirts have been ordered and should be ready with plenty of time before Auto-Salon!
  11. Spotted and either beeped, waved or nodded at quite a few Skyline drivers today. People either don't know what a Stagea is (despite me having SAU stickers on my car, surely they's make SOME connection), don't care, or are just too cool for school to acknowledge me back...
  12. Spotted a black s2 Stagea today in Parramatta, right across the road from "Sherriff's Mini Cars" model shop in Church Street.
  13. Sweet, thanks Alan. Hmm, velcro might be an issue for the security-conscious... I think double-sided tape will be the way I eventually go.
  14. You should feel boost start to build at around 2,500rpm, and by 3,500 it *should* be at or near full boost. Oh, and mine was built in '97, and has roughly 92,500kms. Not sure how genuine it is, but I've just changed my timing belt regardless - I'd rather do it early than risk it snapping and screwing up my engine.
  15. Tangles is right about the plugs - I took my Iridiums out and put coppers in, gapped to 0.8mm, and it got rid of the cold-start stutteriness in my car... The debate is still out as to whether Iridiums/Platinums are better than coppers, but I've changed over and my car runs better as a result. I'd already gapped the Iridiums down to 0.8mm as well, but the coppers are what made the difference. Oh, and when he says "industrial strength" silicon for sealing up your coil packs, he means make sure you get the stuff tradies use that is more resistant to the high temperatures that they'll be subjected to...
  16. Fair enough... Yeah, there isn't too much room, and I've only really had a quick look at it, so my idea probably isn't viable... I'm with Ska, I'll have funds soon and will let you know. Are they still around they $90 mark? Oh, and do they just "clip" in like the clock does/did?
  17. Nice work, Duncan!
  18. I've been on here since June '02 and have 2,806 posts! I could say I've got some catching up to do, but I'd rather think that my posts represent quality over quantity... Hehehehe Hey, Richard, if it doesn't count the time when you were mmmmmmmmmmmmmmgti-r, then in my book you are close enough to being a post-whore!
  19. Hmmm, maybe I'm still being picky, but I kinda wished they "dipped" into the dash a bit to slightly hide the bottom of the guage (where there's no readings anyway)... In my opinion, if it was a bit lower-profiled, it wouldn't stand out too much (or would stand out less). Dunno if you've looked into that, maybe it's not an option due to available space or lack thereof.
  20. Hmmm, guages are on special at Nengun at the moment. Will a 60mm guage fit in the centre (clock-replacement) pod, Alan? I'm both too tired and too lazy to read back at the moment...
  21. I changed my plugs from Iridiums to Coppers, and it got rid of the cold-temp misfire and sluggishness straight away (it would run better when it's warm, but still not perfect), but the popping on over-run is still there, but apparently that's quite normal. The copper plugs made a fair bit of difference, and at roughly $25, it's a good place to start before you go chasing replacement coil packs, etc. I checked my coil packs when they were out, and visually they looked fine - no cracks to be seen.
  22. My sister saw wolverine's Stagea today at Unique Autosports...
  23. I was looking at the back of mine last week and decided on using that same spot, but on the RHS (driver's side), and angled just a little towards the kerb. Pointless now, because I went and bought a standard single-DIN head unit to replace the factory unit - I was so sick of the shitty radio reception and skipping CD player... Maybe further down the line I'll get a head unit with a display.
  24. *volunteers, then does laps of Olympic Park* I'll have a fair bit of SAU Merchandise ready by the time AutoSalon comes around, so let's use the chance to show that we're a "team" as well as a club! Everyone, please have a look HERE and see what items you'd personally like to wear, and I will get them ordered if I don't already have it in stock.
