  1. Car looks awesome! I want similar style wheels for mine, but first I need to get the suspension sorted - mine sits so high, it's not funny! Nice shots, Alex - I might consider doing the same sort of thing next time I take my car out for a few photos...
  2. Oh, I also bought a Joby "GorillaPod" tripod the other day, which is great. You can pretty much put it anywhere you want your camera to be - wrap it around wires, sign posts, etc. http://www.joby.com/
  3. Dude, that's awesome! "Lucky!" /Napoleon
  4. Richard, I just bought a Ricoh Caplio R4 for $389 and I'm really happy with it! If you can find one (apparently it's just become a run-out model), snap it up! It's got a 7.1x Optical zoom, 6MP and 10mm Macro... The replacement has the same zoom, 7MP, but is apparently inferior for value. I wanted a small camera, and can't afford a DSLR anyway, as much as I would like to buy one and learn how to use it correctly. Oh, and I've found 1Gb SanDisk SD cards for $20, and 2Gb SanDisk cards for $35... (And yeah, that's a Canon 300D or 350D - I can't remember exactly - in the left foreground of that shot...)
  5. I'm only in Sydney, but it looks like the weekend is gonna get in the way of me receiving my copies, dammit!
  6. Also, try contacting Chris at AMS, he should be able to help...
  7. GOLD!
  8. That rear wing is a bit much, but the rest looks alright... At least it takes some of the blandness away. I like stealth, but I don't like bland.
  9. Fair enough... Much appreciated for the update, Adzmax!
  10. Hmmm, I'm not to keen on the woodgrain on the dash and steering wheel, but EVERYTHING else looks awesome! Congratulations! As Ska would say: WeLcOmE tO yOuR nEw AdDiCtIoN!* *typing like that hurts my head and eyes - I don't know why I did it now...
  11. Try the Business Classifieds here, JDM Concept and JDMimports usually sell new and used wheels here to forum members, and seem to be pretty knowledgable about the Stagea's size and offset details... Most R32 and R33 GT-R wheel offsets should suit it fine, so it's just a matter of finding the style you want and fitting it in your budget...
  12. Agreed! Maybe have sub-sections for different types of fabrication, like exhaust, working with plastics and fibreglass, panel beating, interior work (gauge pods, speaker pods, etc.) and sh!t like that...
  13. Congratulations, Anna! New-found (and street-legal) freedom is now at your disposal!
  14. I do that too - you do a simple, courteous thing like hold a door open for someone as they walk in behind you, and they don't even acknowledge your gesture, so I say "No problem" or something similar clearly and loudly enough so they hear it...
  15. Dunno if this has already been mentioned, but: Spotted Kylie's (StageaGirl) car in a small photo in the latest HPI magazine (No. 76, page 48), lined up against a generation 1 Liberty RS Turbo at Drag Warz...
  16. I found out the hard way that you CAN overfill a battery - mine died a few days after I'd topped it up right to the brim! Only out enough water so that it just covers the plates... Oh, and take it to your local spare parts shop (one that sells car batteries) and see if they have a battery tester - my first replacement (the one I bought after the overfill incident) had a dud cell, so they exchanged it under warranty.
  17. Thanks Mona, it would have been an even better pic with Sam's camera and the right lens attached to it, but I had neither the skill or the right camera (although I am VERY happy with the camera I bought just before Christmas). It's also a shame that most of the cars can't be seen properly because they weren't "perfectly" lined up, but seeing as we were out for a cruise and not a photo shoot, it turned out alright... Haha, my sister was asking what your car was, Charlie, and I told her it was a bit of a forgotten '80's icon. She then says to me "OK, so we've got some Miami Vice action going on..."
  18. That would really suck, but I hope you find it in you to push on... You've got a nice car and have obviously put a lot of time, effort, and quite possibly money into it, so to throw it all away would quite possibly put as much stress on you as sticking with it, keeping the car and eventually piecing things back together when you get back on your feet...
  19. Check out the Events section, photos start from around page 7 (if your page is set up for 40 posts per page)...
  20. Gotta love the 4-doors... Many thanks to Mona for a well-organised cruise! It was a beautiful morning, and if the weather had stayed like that all day it would have been spot-on - warm, but will a decent, cooling breeze. I think sorting the suspension on the Stagea will become a bigger priority now, although as it is now (standard, and very high) it did mean I could drive straight onto the ferry with no worries about scraping. It's always looked too high, but I think some work to it will also have it leaning a bit less in the corners, so SK's stabilizer bars will probably be my first suspension purchase. Sooooo many nice cars, so little time to capture them all in photos...
  21. I totally agree - lots of us have paid for these magazines already, and are waiting. An update wouldn't go astray...
  22. Thanks for the Stagea pics, Richard. I think everyone is waiting for you to do a massive dump of images upon your return (assuming you're still over there), and I'm sure interest will rise again. It's good how there's a variety of shots: car porn, city scapes, the people of Japan, the country areas, landmarks, etc. Kinda like the old photo threads that Rezz used to do. (Where is he, by the way?)
  23. The only "best speaker" is the one that sounds nicest to YOU and best fits into your budget and intended purposes. FACT: no-one's ears hear in exactly the same way (even if you're one of identical twins), so what sounds good to you might sound like crap to someone else! FACT: what you like to listen to may not suit the speakers you've been recommended by the store-person, a professional, or your friends or family FACT: the speaker placement and the car it's being installed in can have a pretty high impact on how they sound once they're in. The fact that you sit to one side in your car means that it won't sound anything like when you're sitting dead-centre in your living room. Your best option is to go into a few shops, LISTEN to a few speakers (and only a few, otherwise you'll confuse yourself) using music you're familiar with, and then narrow down your options from there...
