  1. You lucky, lucky man, Brett - that thing is a weapon! Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome to your new addiction! I'm guessing the car is staying in Sydney, right? You just missed out on the cruise we had. Andy rang Jay that day, but I think Jay was working. Link to the cruise is HERE.
  2. How about the Bavarian Bier Cafe, there are three locations to choose from (two of which are in the city). This or something similar would be great.
  3. Ouch! Hope he's alright.
  4. With mention of Calder, I'm assuming you're in Melbourne, right? In that case I can't help you out with a dealership, 'cause I simply wouldn't have a clue considering I'm in Sydney. Try grabbing a copy of HPI, Zoom, or some other local magazine and ring up a few dealers who advertise to see what they'l do for you. I think you'd probably be able to find stuff cheaper if you do your own shopping, because the dealers will probably want to add their own margin to whatever they order for you. I doubt you'd beat an R33 GTSt, even if it's standard - unfortunately the Stagea is 200+ kilos heavier than a Skyline, and that is its biggest burden and probably the only thing all Stagea owners hate about their cars. If you were to drag race when at Calder, then you might have a good chance of getting the R33 off the line (due to traction), but beyond that the weight starts to take its toll. Around a track wouldn't be much different, and quite probably worse the further you got around the track...
  5. Quality item, that's for sure! If that's still it in the bottom photo, it looks like it's taken off an exact model of the standard bonnet.
  6. R34 bonnets are nothing alike, regardless of if you pick an s1 (1996 to October 1998) or s2 (November 1998 to 2000) Stagea... Offset is the same as R33 GT-R, I believe. Just make sure that if you're getting an AWD Stagea, that you get the same size wheels and tyres on the front and rear of the car, or you'll burn out the clutch packs in the transfer case, leading to expensive repairs. For kits, talk to Chris at "AMS", who's getting Nismo kits via Monkey Warehouse... He used to own a Stagea, and then sold it to FLYSLY to buy an S13.
  7. Try and get a spot in or around Kirribilli (say g'day to Johnny Howard if you can be bothered looking for his house) - there's usually a few good areas to watch the fireworks from there, assuming you get there early enough to secure your spot.
  8. Probably the best bet is to ask for the VIN (if you haven't already got it for the REVS check) and post it in the thread so someone with Nissan FAST can check if it's the real deal. Also, get a mechanic from an import tuner's to go over it. They'll usually be a bit more thorough than an NRMA check because they'll better know what little things go wrong with these particular cars.
  9. C'mon Ian, you know you want to... Adam (jebud) has informed me he's keen to go, so you won't be the only Stagea there.
  10. Spotted Lee putting little Ninja's in every thread he visits...
  11. Shan, could I get these two Stagea ones please? Will organise payment at the end of the week. Are you coming up to Sydney any time soon? Thanks, Nick
  12. Love it, Ian - the colour is growing on me more and more every time I see it!
  13. Exactly, that's why I'd prefer to wait, save up, and get full electronic guages too. I love the Defi's, just wish I could afford them sooner (as well as all the other mods I wanna do).
  14. Wil, I really think you should add these shots to your portfolio on your website! You can use my car, too, I don't have a problem with that at all. BTW, have the prints come through yet? Cheers, Nick
  15. I like it too, it's a shame you can't choose which guages you get when you order a Defi DIN-guage cluster, it would make it so much easier! Not sure if those ones in that shot are the same ones, but Just Jap are doing AutoGuage packages as a group buy for that price...
  16. Nice work, Andrew and Jess!
  17. Spotted Abo Bob and Maltese Terrier Bob at JustJap this arvo...
  18. I don't think I mentioned how much I hate being in photos! Was a good night though! Getting home in 10mins FTW!
  19. AFAIK, winding up the revs in Neutral and slamming it into Drive or 1st wouldn't be too healthy for the autobox. Best thing to do with any auto (and this applies to all cars) is left foot on the brake, then gradually push down on the accelerator until it's just about to creep off, then when the lights change let go of the brake and nail the accelerator. In the Stagea, you'll build boost because you're putting the engine under load, and you shouldn't have any traction issues because you have ATESSA all-wheel-drive. BTW: SAU does NOT condone street racing, keep it to the track. The stupid amounts of money you'd end up paying in fines for street racing (not to mention the risk you create for yourself and others) could easily pay for a trackday where you can pretty much do just about anything you want in a safe environment.
  20. Hmm, yeah, it's been suggested already, and is under consideration. It would take a lot of time and money to do it properly (and we wouldn't have it done half-heartedly), and it's still early days, yet. GOOD NEWS, THOUGH: We have put order in for the first of our new products, and you'll all see it soon.
  21. Congratulations Andrew!
  22. That's exactly what I was thinking of doing, with one 60mm Defi BF in there, and three 52mm gauges in the dash below/above the stereo... I've since had a look and can confirm you can just pull it out from the top, and I assume (and hope!) you can just feed wiring through from behind the vents/stereo/HVAC section of the dash. If you were to do a pod for this area, I would most likely be keen, as long as it looks as close to factory as possible (including the "grain" effect in the plastic), which is what I hope to achieve if I do my own.
  23. Oh yeah, forgot about that testing trick - my old man used to do that!
  24. Wouldn't mind one, depending on where it will go. If you can give us an indication of where it will fit, then I'm pretty certain there'll be at least a few sales. I've had a quick look at the ones on your website, and personally I'm not too keen on having something in the corner of the A-pillar and windscreen.
