  1. Another factor when discussing what speeds we travel in (whether it's in the right-hand lane or not) is this: do people actually KNOW that their speedometers are NOT 100% accurate? People might think they are doing, say, 60km/h because their speedo says that they are, but their actual road speed is more likely to be closer to 54-57km/h. Last I heard, the ADRs allow for up to 10% inaccuracy, as long as it's not reading slower than the actual road speed - i.e. your speedo can read 60km/h when you're actually doing 54km/h, but it cannot read 60km/h if you're actually doing 66km/h. If you've got a GPS navigation device handy, see if it can display road speed and check how accurate your speedo is - if you don't have a GPS unit, there are a few smartphone apps (both Android and iOS) that can offer a semi-decent alternative. A change of wheel/tyre size (or even keeping exactly the same sized tyres but buying from a different tyre manufacturer) can affect the accuracy of your speedo. That also leads me to wonder this: now that I use the M4 a fair bit to get out towards Penrith, I often see cars going past me while I'm doing the speed limit. Assuming the same inaccuracy in a majority of the cars I see (mostly standard cars), surely these people KNOW they are speeding by a fair chunk - it's gotta be indicating 120-130km/h, if not more! How often do you see these guys pulled over later on down the road? Very rarely.
  2. That would have been Ian (aka "StageIan") in the red Stagea, Christian.
  3. That's why I hate stretched tyres. I'd rather rub a soft tyre against a gutter than damage my wheels.
  4. I'm pretty certain that IS the genuine email address - his name is Duncan Gay, after all... I dunno, personally I would have thought they'd put more thought into what his email address would be. Maybe use his whole name instead?
  5. Indeed, probably getting back at my LOLvo for not being the genuine Swedish article... Correct, I reversed into a yellow parking bollard. I was tired and wasn't paying proper attention - lucky for me it wasn't another car or, even worse, a person. The what, Hugh? If you mean the terracotta colour on the ground, then it's just concrete paint/sealant that's slowly being removed so we can repaint it.
  6. This is what I did to my car on Friday, just as I was leaving Ikea in Rhodes shopping centre:
  7. Well it's been over 20yrs since my last Pilot Sports experience, and I do remember them being awesome back then too.
  8. Just got some Michelin Pilot Sport 3s put on my car and a full alignment - it already feels like I'm going to love these tyres! More compliant than the Federal 595s, decently quiet (roughly the same as the Feds), and very confidence inspiring so far. Can't wait to put some kays on them and give them some more stick and also try them in the wet.
  9. Okay peoples, our events for this year are being worked on and this thread will be updated shortly...
  10. I spotted a stickered-up R34 GTt parked right behind me today when I was at CostCo. It was white with a shopping list and Nismo stripes down the sides. Unfortunately I was in the old man's car and not my own.
  11. Thanks Matt - still need to find a time to get more shots to show some size perspective.
  12. Huh??? Re-phrase or re-write your question in full please Brotato.
  13. Mine's a 7/97 build too, and I'm pretty sure it has a metal CAS... Can check tomorrow if you want, mate.
  14. I live on the other side of Toonie station, but have relatives near the Girraween end of Targo Road, so I'm down there fairly often. I also use Targo or Toongabbie Road to get to Unigoup. Oh really Gav? I've never seen another dark green s1 around here...
  15. Dude, you just dug up a thread that is a year old...
  16. Crap, I live in the area too and rarely see anyone except StageIan in his red s2.
  17. Good stuff Alex!
  18. Spotted StageIan last night @ St Ives.
  19. You can use L-series lenses on any EOS DSLR, as far as I know - the only difference between using an EF-S and an EF lens on an APS-C sensor camera is whether you're matching the white or red dots when you attach the lens to the body. If the OP is stating that he's buying his first DSLR, why should he spend thousands on a 5D and L-series lenses? He's already stated that he has a budget of $1500 - that wouldn't even cover a 5D body! The man's gotta crawl and then walk before he can run, right? Even the kit lenses have image stabilisation on most of them.
  20. I can't answer your first two questions because I don't tow anything, and probably never will. 3. The 260RS (both series 1 and 2) use R33 GTR running gear, so if you want to get a PowerFC for it, you need the one that works with an R32 or R33 (it's the same unit). 4. The oil gallery mod is pretty much the same for all RB26DETT's - if you're going to be using it at heavy loads and high revs for an extended period, it's well worth doing. Basically, they put a small restrictor in one of the oil galleries going to the head so the oil flow is slowed down. One of the most common reasons for engine failure in a GTR is oil starvation at the bottom end, so the crankshaft bearings aren't being lubricated properly because the oil has been diverted to the head. The restrictor reduces the risk of this happening. 5. The head on an RB26 is different to an RB25, so I doubt it would work (but I'm no expert here, so do some more research or wait for someone else to answer). 6. There are front mount kits available, but the standard intercooler in a GTR (and therefore a 260RS) is very efficient. If you end up getting one, take the intercooler off, give it a good clean, check it for damage, and if it's all good then just put it back on. There's a DIY thread for cleaning your intercooler, just do a search for it. 7. AFAIK, I've only ever heard of one 260RS with the factory sunrooves, and the authenticity of that car was a bit questionable... For answers to the rest, just have a look in the Buyer's Guide and/or do some searching... Most, if not all, of your questions have been answered before.
  21. Why not, Shell?
  22. Gun metal grey R33 GTSt coupe parked in the main street of Toongabbie this afternoon in front of the church, at roughly 4.30pm or so.
  23. Spotted a nice dark grey (not nearly as dark as gunmetal, though) V36 Skyline coupe tonight driving around the back of the parking lot of Castle Towers in Castle Hill, around 8.30pm
  24. Spotted a pearl white (and looked to be very clean) M35 heading East on the M4 around 5.15pm today. I was heading the other way, towards Penrith.
