How long before rego is done and it's on the road, Andy? We should try meet up pre-cruise, maybe...

Sydney, Newie And Hunter Cruise And Meet.
GoldZilla replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Updated... Andy, have you got your car yet? -
Found it, thanks guys - posted it in the NSW Whore thread for Sl!m's benefit, as he likes the colour. It's Dark Green DR2, with Z trim. beastien, is the J trim the leather pack?
-
Hey guys and girls, as mentioned in the thread title, where do I find the paint and trim codes for my car? I looked on the Jap compliance plates, but couldn't really make out if any of the info there is supposed to represent these... Thanks in advance.

I saw a few Skylines today, and maybe the same black one with big Chromies (yuck!), it was turning off Powers Road into Station Road is Seven Hills this arvo, heading towards Seven Hills and Blacktown way. Also saw a nice silver s2 R33 (and followed it for about 300m) on Station Road heading towards Blacktown, it continued along towards Vardys Road. Also saw a white R32 with nice wheels, heading towards Abbott Road. Haven't ever seen so many Skylines in such a short period of time in my area...

Anyone else keen? -
You made a car with two pairs of too-small pants? Now THAT's talent!!!

I'm in the same camp, although I would still like a set of wheels (and suspension lowering) to add to my car. I like the whole street-sleeper thing - as far as visuals goes, that's probably all I'll do externally. And any internal mods will have to serve a purpose without standing out too much as well. Stealth stereo upgrades are on my to-do list, as well as some Defi black-face gauges (or similar) in a DIN holder, and the rest of my spending will go into performance work. My car has a standard front bar, but no side or rear skirts or rear wing. But that's fine, as apart from the ride height I love the way it looks! Once again, congrats on getting the car going, you've obviously put a lot of time and effort into it! Brad, I have friends of the family living in Bayswater, are you anywhere near that?

Sydney, Newie And Hunter Cruise And Meet.

Updated, thanks all. Can anyone suggest an area we can head to? Like I mentioned, even though I do come up to the Central Coast once in a while, I'm not too familiar with where we can gather. I do know that there are a few spots in and around Gwandalan and Summerland Point which should suit our requirements, and if that sounds good to all of you then I at least know I won't need a map to get us there without a hassle... -
Good to hear, Brad, after all this time and work! Like Alex said, after 8 months, a day or two is nothing, but I can appreciate how you feel. Hope all goes well, best of luck...

Forgot to mention yesterday that I saw a nice white V35 Skyline on the way home from the city yesterday, a 350GT. It was on Parra Road around Auburn, heading Westbound, right around where Harvey Norman and Nick Scali are. Also saw a blue R32 (similar in colour to Ruk's car), no rear wing, on Parra Rd too, just after the railway lines and crossing. I think someone was test driving it from a dealership, tho...

Alright guys and girls, been thinking more about our discussions on this thread, and I propose a new date either the first or second weekend of April... The third weekend of April is Easter weekend, which brings with it an extra two days off (YAY! ), but also double the fines and double demerit points. And even though the Stageas usually fly under the radar as far as police attention is concerned, having a whole group of us cruising and hanging out together might bring some unwelcomed attention (Awww ). If worst comes to worst, we can do this the weekend after Easter. It's a bit further away, but gives us more time to sort this out. I figured setting up a meet this late in the month is a bit too short notice, and I've been busy (and will continue to be busy) with relo's from o/seas as well until the end of March/beginning of April. So, let me ask you all a few questions: 1. Which weekend would you all prefer? 2: Is Sydney or Newcastle prefered, or somewhere in between (and if that's the case, where?)? I do spend a bit of time on occasion around The Entrance, Lake Munmorah and Lake Macquarie, but I'm no expert. 3. Do we have an all-in cruise once we're at our combined meeting point, or just sit down somewhere and chill out, maybe have a BBQ or whatever? Personally, I'd prefer to just have two or three separate groups (one from Sydney metro, one from Newcastle and surrounds, etc) cruise up together, and then each group just heads to one central point and we can meet and greet there. Remember to allow room for parking of roughly 10 Stageas, using the rough list I created in the other thread. Please suggest a decent area where we can park fairly close together and won't either give or receive any unwanted fuss... So peoples, please let me know what you all think, and I will add all the preferred options to this first thread in point form. Cheers, Nick RESULTS SO FAR... 1 April 2006 AlexCim: - possible trip to Sydney * 15/16 April (Easter weekend) or 22/23 April * BBQ AMS * 22/23 April neostagea * 22/23 April * BBQ * In/around Newcastle Mum's Taxi * 22/23 April * BBQ * "around Newie" beastien * Newcastle (preferred) or Central Coast * 22/23 April Terminal - possible trip to Sydney * 22/23 April EGA41T * 22/23 April Cruise date: Saturday 22 April, 2006 Final destination and meet-up point will be Soldiers Beach in Norah Head. Full details in post #45 of this thread!!!

Rb26 Into An Automatic Awd Stagea?
GoldZilla replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
There just happens to be an article regarding this in the current Zoom magazine (with the purple 2JZ-GTE-powered Mk1 Escort on the cover). They're using an autobox (the 5-speed RE501A) in their RB26-powered R33 sedan, and apparently the ECU for the RE40A and the RE501A are one and the same. Further to this, the RB26 computer has ECU pin-outs for controlling an autobox, and all you have do find out is how it is controlled on an auto R32 GTS4 (RB20DET power with auto and ATTESSA), and go from there. There's more info in the article, so might be worth picking it up, but that's the basics of it. Actually, I read it earlier and remembered someone had posted this question, and thought "how's that for timing?!?!" Cheers, Nick T. -
Japanese Stagea Service Manuals
GoldZilla replied to funkymonkey's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Any progress with the manuals, Funky? -
Oh, and Tuesdays are usually the cheapest day to buy fuel...
-
Oh, forgot to mention I saw a dark grey R33 (didn't take notice of whether it was a GTSt or GT-R) on Toongabbie Road this afternoon around 3pm. It had the GT-R style wing ends, but no wing in the middle connecting them, IIRC.
-
Yeah I was there Sam, but didn't get there until around 1.30pm, and left not long after because my old man was getting bored - so he claims... Wil, I parked "teh Dragon Wagon" along the front of where the old UAS shop was, there was no parking nearer (I'm a lazy mofo too). Morgs, like I said, I love that colour! Very unusual... Good luck with the sale.
-
Spotted PranK's Stagea again today at UAS when I was there for the SAU NSW Dyno Day - apart from his car (which is for sale there - linky...) mine was the only Stagea there I think. Wish I had the money to throw the car on the dyno today, but after bills being paid and savings being put away, there was only money left over to buy some new oil (which I wanted to change BEFORE I ran on a dyno anyway), and living expenses for the next fortnight... Would have saved me some money doing it today, but sh!t happens like that - what can you do? :
-
Hey, me too! Co-incidence or conspiracy? Saw some cars in the flesh today that I've only mainly seen in photos here on the forum, and was utterly impressed with many of them! Abo-Bob's car, and especially OR-340, is that E_Lu_Shun's car (Happy birthday, by the way...)? Absolutely love it!!! But then again, I am partial to 4-doors (and wagons), as I'm a "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing" kind of a person. Who owned that Tommy Kaira-stickered R32 GT-R? Love the colour! Some panel repair work would really make this car a stunner.

I have to say, I've never driven mine until the fuel light comes on. I usually fuel up when it gets to a quarter tank or just below. Here's a few figures I've kept: 49.98litres, 341.9kms, 14.62l/100kms 46.40litres, 333.3kms, 13.92l/100kms 48.04litres, 332.9kms, 14.43l/100kms 47.22litres, 304.0kms, 15.53l/100kms 44.31litres, 304.6kms, 14.55l/100kms And on a trip to Canberra late last year: 42.54litres, 311.4kms, 13.6l/100kms heading down 48.75litres, 367.7kms, 13.2l/100kms heading home (driving less conservatively, mind you!) So a rough average since I bought the car in October is around 14.6l/100kms. But I'm sure mine is running typically rich, just like a majority of basically standard Skylines and Stageas out there... +

How to replace front parking light?
GoldZilla replied to Sydneykid's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Cool, thanks for that muck, will try again tomorrow. -
Dude, are you sure? If that's true, then I want the secrets to that when you figure out what it is! That's roughly 10.3l/100kms - I would almost kill for that! Was this pretty much constant speed cruising?

Meh, double post...

How to replace front parking light?
GoldZilla replied to Sydneykid's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
My parkers are blue in colour and when I was at a petrol station earlier this week, a cop mentioned that I should change them. I think it's better to be safe than sorry rather than risk a defect. Tried to get my parkers off last night, and again tonight after having read this thread. I tried pulling them out with a bit of force after undoing the Phillips head screws, but thought I'd better check with those who've already done it before I break them. Do I pull them forward towards (but away from, if that makes sense?) the front of the car, and can anyone please post a pic of where the clip is and where I should put a screwdriver to lever it off (without scratching the paint)? Is the clip behind or below the parker? Thanks in advance... Nick -
Nice buy, same colour as mine! And welcome to the club!
