  2. Here's a picture of the one I've got, and I wanted an R-34 version (and an R-33 version if I can get one that I like)...
  3. Hmmm, just watched the trailer and the crash at the end is definitely cool. Very scary if it were real life , but seeing as it's just a movie, it's cool. Devon Aoik has a great bod (from the photos anyway), but it looks like her head was taken off and given a few cycles in a tumble-dryer...
  4. "Running on Empty" Yeah, my friend's got a copy of that and I borrowed it to watch about a year ago. That '55 Chev was awesome, I have to agree - and finding out the old dude was blind was a strange twist of the story. Where was that movie filmed? I think I read Melbourne in the credits, but some of it looks like the area in The Rocks, around the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
  5. Hey all, I was wondering where I could get some A2-sized Skyline posters from. I'm talking about the kind that you would have typically seen in a dealership or car yard, with a nice studio-style shot of the car and some basic info. Probably the stuff commissioned by Nissan to promote its cars and bring in showroom traffic. I've got an R-32 GT-R one, which has some detail about the engine, brakes, drive-line, etc. I especially wanted an R-34 one, and maybe[i/] an R-33 one too if I can get a hold of one of those too... I bought my R-32 one from Sherriff's in Parramatta a few years back, and they don't sell them anymore. they suggested going to the Wheels Bookshop at the other end of Church Street (near RiverBank, etc) but they don't have any either. I was wondering where to try next, and figured these forums (and therefore you guys and girls) would probably be able to help... Please email me if you can supply one or provide some info. Cheers, Nick T
  6. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm deep dish wheels... :drooling:
  7. Doesn't help that I just bought a digi-cam too, and wanted to get some quality shots to add to my collection and/or post up here...
  8. Dammit, everytime I've wanted to come to a TW meet, I've had something else planned or something come up to stop me from getting there - it's like 4 weeks in a row now, too! This weekend is no different, got an engagement to attend. So much to do, so little time...
  9. BTW Blukie, happy 30th again, son...
  10. Had a look at the SEVS lsit today (I think it's the current one, not sure if it will change as of May 8th) and it looks as though pretty much ALL R-34's will be eligible to import. That includes the RB25DE atmo and even the RB20DE... The link is here. Just click on the second-last option on the left of the page: "Register of Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicles" Also, if you have time, check out the link above that ("SEVS Information" - the third-last option) and go through the bulletins towards the bottom of that page. Lots of reading, but an insight into what they're trying to do. Either way, it sucks in my opinion. Why restrict the number of cars coming into the country, when they serve the purpose of: - satisfying a market not already catered to; - supporting a lot of new or fairly-recently established businesses; - protecting the jobs of the people employed in these businesses; etc. They state in the first bulletin that the purpose is to ensure that quality cars are coming into the country, which is fair enough if that was their only agenda. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that it's more of a money-making scheme and/or a pandering to the requests of the bigger local car-makers. I think that's including Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi - who were obviously not game enough to cater to the market in the first place, and are now jealous that they've missed their opportunity and/or are losing sales to the "Grey Import" dealers and importers. I've also heard that parties responsible for implementing the SEVS rulings have actually clearly stated that they are deliberately out to reduce or shut down the industry bracket... Oh well, time will tell. I'm going to go through all the bulletins and see where it seems to be leading us.
  11. There's some-one advertising in the latest HPI magazines (the last few issues) who's doing them and the JZX Chasers as well. I think his name is Grahame Senior, if I remember correctly. Half-page ad with his phone and fax details, and a picture of each of the above cars...
  12. I tried to sign the on-line petition but the website was playing up, and I must have tried it close to 10 times... Maybe in their quest to shut down our fun they've sabotaged the web page so that it won't work when we try to add our own names... Maybe... That's actually why I'm on this thread - I was looking for more info to try the website again, to see if it works this time.
  13. I'm not asian or white either, but white girls work for me... Not that I'd exclude a girl from any other race if she, umm.. "raised the bar." Hey, what the hell, I'll take two! Of each.
  14. Dammit, every TW meeting that's been on over the past few weeks, I've had something else planned.
  15. hmmmm, Parra's only 10 min's from home, so I might be there in my 'Rolla. It's a kind of Aqua with the SDU sticker on the front screen, so if i'm there you won't miss me
  16. Assuming you're talking about Harry's Cafe de Wheels, it's easy to find... If you're heading in there via the city and using William Street, take the "exit" on the left which brings you up to where the famous "Coke sign is. From there, turn left and drive straight thru Kings X, past all the clubs and stuff, and follow it around to the left past the Bourbon & Beefsteak Bar/Restaurant. Around about 400m or so down from that, you'll see that the road gets really narrow and really windy. Keep your speed down or you'll probably understeer straight into the oncoming traffic. When you reach the bottom of the windy stretch (it's not very long) you'll get a set of traffic lights and see water in front of you, and probably a few Navy boats. Turn left at these lights and you'll see a big Shell servo, and a bunch of people standing outside some old caravan, which is Harry's. It's almost always busy there, so you can't miss it! Enjoy!
  17. So, are there any photos or what? I so wanted to come, but was busy running around all day and afternoon - at 9.30pm I was just tucking into dinner, so had no chance of getting there. By the time I'd eaten, I was just too tired to move...
  18. Yeah, I was seriously thinking of doing the same thing. Hang on, I got a fine the other day, maybe I can use the envelope to make it look real!!! Dammit, where can I get more envelopes? :werd:
  19. MAJOR RESPECT to Mario And, of course, the team behind him. CRD, C&V, everyone deserves congratulations... Even he has a list of Thank-You's on his website, so it's not as if he claims to do it all by himself. He may seem to be a chequebook racer to some, but I visit his website fairly regulalry and it appears to me that he knows his s#!t. I'm not going to pretend that I'm THE most knowledgable person, but I do a fair bit of reading and the occasional work under a car (as I'm sure a lot of you do, too), so I get by in my own way and can respect that his research and knowledge far outweighs what I know... He's obviously done a lot of research to come up with the goods to make his car run this time, and so how much he earns and spends on his car(s) etc has nothing to do with the rest of us. The fact that he's a Skyline enthusiast and amongst the first owners of a Skyline that runs in the single digits should be enough...
  20. Here it is...
  21. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ROFLMAO - that's funny. I remember Mario had made up a Rice Citation that we should all start using...
  22. That's the one diagonally opposite Cabra Golf Course, right? I might be there... I should get a sticker made up for my 'Rolla that says "When I grow up I wanna be a JZX Chaser/Tourer V/Mark II." God, I really should start saving properly for a Skyline...
  23. Tactic, write a letter and send it in, it's worth a try. It could save you some money and some points, you never know. Of course, 'cos you haven't had your licence for long, they might not even bother to read it, but try anyway. If you were caught by a camera, just say in your letter "I neither admit nor deny that I was speeding, but..." then just basically say that you were concentrating on something or other on the roadside and blah blah blah... MAKE SURE the letter is written professionally, and be VERY CAREFUL of the wording to make sure you don't incriminate yourself further. Best of luck with it, Nick
  24. No probs...
  25. The other questions have already been answered, but if you'd been here at a different time of the year (or were willing to stay longer), quite a few of the cruises we go on start about 2 mins from your brother's apartment in the heart of the Olympic site (at one of the carparks there), which is a common meeting spot and would have been perfect for you to meet a bunch of us... Don't forget there's also a cruise to Wollongong on the 29th (Sunday morning). Nice drive down, and a s#!tload of cars meet up there. Lots of rice too, but that's okay - each to their own, and thank god for that! Hey, if you want to do a BridgeClimb, message/call me and let me know - if you do a dayclimb during the week I should be able to get you a 10% discount. I've PM'd you my mobile number. I've been to Perth quite a few times. I was there less than 3 months ago for a wedding, and spent my 2001/2002 NYE there at Little Creatures in Freo. Awesome night, and awesome pub. Doesn't hurt that the girls behind the bar (and just about everywhere in Perth, for that matter) are gorgeous!!! Hope you enjoy the chaos of Sydney as much as I enjoy the quiet of Perth!!! Cheers, Nick T
