ICQ Numbers and/or MSN Messenger log-in names...
GoldZilla replied to GoldZilla's topic in New South Wales
Sweet, Keep 'em rolling in, guys and girls... Nick T -
Hey all, I've noticed that ICQ is used a fair bit to keep track of events, etc. and general chat away from the forums. Me thinks we should have a log of everyone's ICQ numbers (and maybe people's @hotmail.com or @msn.com log-in names) so we can more successfully keep track of what everyone's up to, especially on days and nights leading up to cruises or meets. That way I might actually use the thing (I prefer using MSN Messenger, myself) Who's up? Mine are as below: ICQ: 119599701 MSN Messenger/hotmail: [email protected] (that's LDF double-zero T) Cheers, all. Nick PS, Prank - could we have the little ICQ icon thingy just under our signature (next to the PROFILE, PM, WWW and BUDDY icons) like we used to on SDU back in the day?

Umm, AGREED!!!! Man, I've really been craving Jap food recently, god only knows why. Had a really nice Jap meal in Bondi last week, but unfortunately the service was CRAP!!! Seriously, no matter what nationality you are, how hard is it to get someone who speaks English to serve your customers? How badly has this thread been hi-jacked? BTW, Loz can you bring back a mint '32 4-door for me? If I correctly understand what you're saying, then it seems that they have quite a few around - they won't miss one, will they?
-
Man, when we all got our SDU stickers way-back-when, mine added about 35hp @ the front wheels to my trusty Corolla CSi Ltd. To this day it still amazes me, over a year later! Driving to and from work was never like this before!!! Hopefully, when the Skylines Australia stickers come out, I'm gonna buy two of them. I'm gonna put the Corolla away and keep it for track outings only. Seeing as the SDU sticker is on the front windscreen of my 'Rolla, I'm gonna have to decide whether to put one of the SAU stickers at the bottom of the front screen for added traction off the line, or on the back windscreen for better aerodynamic stability at the top end. The phenomenal power that this sticker alone will bring should see me able to join the Highly Exclusive Corolla RH-6 club... God only knows what the spare SAU sticker will do when I get my R-32 GTS-t (four-door, of course) and attach it to that. NASA or Fighter-Pilot training, anyone?

R32 GTB-4 look-alike @ Homebush/Silverwater
GoldZilla replied to GoldZilla's topic in New South Wales
Anyone? -
Hey all, Today I saw an R32 GTB-4 look-alike as I was turning off Silverwater Rd and heading towards Homebush. The driver looked around late 30's to early 40's, with a beard and maybe glasses. And I'm sure he noticed me checking out his car as I came around the corner. It looked like he had a full car, too. He was heading the other way, about to turn right onto Silverwater Rd coming from Homebush (maybe leaving the AutoSalon)... I was in my green Corolla with an SDU sticker on my windscreen. The car: As I mentioned, it looked like a GTB-4 - Gunmetal Grey R32 4-door, GT-R grille and bonnet (and possibly front guards, didn't have time to see properly), what looked like GT-R wheels (but could well have been GTS-t wheels painted in the same colour as the body), GT-R rear spoiler, and in really nice condition. :jump: I only noticed it was a 4-door at the last moment, and in disbelief had to do a double-take in my rear-view mirror after I'd gone past. Is this you? If it is, this is the first time I've seen ANY Skyline look as good as this. Would you be willing to part with this car? As much as Black, Silver and Gunmetal are at the bottom of my list of colours to get, I really think I could be swayed with this particular car... As far as looks go, this is exactly how I intend my (hopefully not-too-far in the future) car to look when it's done - super slick yet very understated. Cheers, Nick

Hey, I went on an Audi drive day back in Feb this year with my old man, when they released the updated (current) version of the A6 range (including the 4.2 V8 S6 and 2.7 V6TT in sedan and Allroad forms). If I remember correctly, it lead from The Audi Centre in Parra, along Windsor Rd thru to Wilberforce, along Putty Rd, into the Hunter Valley, stopping at Pokolbin for lunch, then more driving through the Hunter on the way back to meeting up with the F3 for the return trip home. First car was the Allroad 2.7 Twin Turbo - touchy throttle off the line, but VERY responsive and nice to drive once you're on the move. The highlight of the day (obviously - and for EVERYONE else who'd had the chance to drive it before we discussed it at lunch) was driving the S6. Lush 4.2l V8, quad cams, 5-valves per cylinder, 250kW/420Nm, quattro drivetrain, 5-speed Tiptronic auto, leather Recaros, etc. 0-100km.h in 6.7secs, not bad at all for something that weights 1735kgs, hey? God only knows what the RS6 is gonna be like - basically the same engine but TWIN TURBOCHARGED. According to my old man, I was heading into a 35km/h sign-posted corner at around 100 - haven't driven like that with him before or since, and probably never will... My dad just cruised, unfortunately - it's been a while since I've seen him drive "in anger." One of the guys along for the drive apparently hit 235 in the S6 before he backed off - and he was in his late 40's or early 50's. The same guy drives an old S4 every day (from the early 90's, based on the old Audi 100 shell - 5cyl, 20v, 2.2litre turbo, 6sp manual, quattro). Anyway, back to the main point of this thread, that was a great drive - gotta find the map we used and do it again soon. I've also enjoyed the run along Ku-Ring-Gai Chase Rd, heading into Bobbin Head, and the drive out back to the Pacific Highway is alright too. I've been pretty close to the point between slip and grip thru there, and according to my sister I've also gotten pretty close to scrubbing the barriers along the passenger side of the car on the drive (thrash?) down.

Yeah, I work in Parra too and came back to see my car covered in those brown spots. Kinda annoying considering the drought and water restrictions are likely to increase the time spans between washes. (NI5MO, where do you work? I'm in Colonial Tower on the corner of George & Charles St's) What's the go with using services like Car Lovers, etc? Are the restrictions applicable to them too, considering they filter and re-use some (if not all) of their water? As long as my car looks reasonably clean, then I'm happy.

Yeah, I was thinking about tagging along Pho a feed, but now you're scaring me...

Hey Zane/MADGTS - assuming you've got the white 33, I used to see you all the time at the intersection of Fitzwilliam Rd and Old Windsor Rd in Toongabbie, heading NthWest. I used to see you when I'd turn off Fitzwilliam and head down Old Windsor in the mornings on my way to work in Parra...
-
Cool! When, where, how much? I've got a 24x burner, so if you were out Parra way I could copy it right here if that'd be cool with you? I'm a big Jackass fan - gotta love how they just slap that dude's (is it Bam Marguera?) old man around, hey? Back to the plates: I've thought of a few good ones too. Ages back I was thinking of getting LDF.00.T (as in Lead Foot), but it wasn't available when I checked the RTA website, and about a year ago I saw it on an XW or XY Falcon in Winston Hills.

Pho Phuck's Sakes, Would some of you guys please explain the basics (for us non-Asians) of what ingredients are in the foods you're talking about? I'm keen to try something new, but would like to at least get an idea of what it is I'm putting in my mouth. Example: Me: "Hey dad, what did you put in that?" My old man: "Try it..." Me: "Yeah, but what's in it first?!?!" My old man: "Just try it." Me "Forget it!" Both my parents are pretty good cooks (I'm from a Mauritian background - born here tho), but if there's one thin that pisses me off about their cooking, it's conversations like the one above... Anyway, enough whinging from me. Nick

Excellent choice - as deep a dish as you can find and fit would suit me fine... I'm scared to wonder what these wheels would cost tho! Actually, the R34 GT-R wheels (in the standard Hyper-Bronze colour) and Volk Racing RAYS TE-37's (in that same colour again) also rock!!! Nick

Robo, you CAN choose what appears on your NSW Slim-line "Premium" plates, and here's the link to it... http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/nd/nd4/ndconfig....LPS/pgCarPlates It's got all the details you were asking for, including price, dimensions (measure the space you have on your front bar), etc. Hope this helps... Hi, I'm Nick and I'm a Vinyl Addict... Oh no, wrong forum! OK, start again: Hi, I'm Nick and I'm a Skyline addict. I like short walks to the fridge, good food shared in good company, curling up with that special someone for a night in, blah blah blah... Vitals: Name: Nick; Age: 28; Occupation: CSO for HIC/Medicare processing compo claims (boring!!!); Likes: Skylines, chicks, good music, more good music, chicks, Skylines, Stageas, DJing (as a hobby), JZX and AE86 Toyotas, S- and RS-spec Audis, M-Tech BMWs, watching DVDs on a good Home Theatre set-up with the volume turned up to 12, chicks, people who show courtesy and respect to others, Skylines, taking my McLaren F1 down to the local Maccas drive-thru, and occasionally lift-off-oversteering my FWD Corolla; Dislikes: People with no sense of respect for others, people who don't have manners, people who are just plain dumb, taxi's, rednecks in their Kingswoods and Falcons, $#itty drivers, not owning a Skyline (yet), reaching for my drive-thru Maccas from my McLaren F1's central driving position (didn't they think of this?), and rude people (did I mention that already, in any way, shape or form?) Peace outside, you know what I'm say?

Seriously? Prank, I think you're gonna have to get some drum brakes off a Datto 1200/120Y (thank God for Nissan parts interchangability, hey?) at each corner to fit those wheels on!!! At least that way, you could get some 12" rims off that same 1200/120Y to substitute if you get a flat - they look about the same size...

The 2 little buttons on the left
GoldZilla replied to NIZ30's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hey, I read somewhere that there's a new product which can interface between a head unit and most factory buttons such as those on many car's steering wheels... Maybe you could hook it up to still operate your aftermarket deck, who knows? Or maybe the kill-switch, or how about a scramble button for an electronic boost controller... -
So, the DJ-Skyline connection does exist. Schweeeet!!!! I've got decks too (SL-1210's and a Roland DJ-1000 mixer) running through an old Marantz amp which my dad bought not long after I was born (and I'm 28 now, to give you an idea). If I could afford it (and had the room), I'd add a pair of Pioneer CDJ-1000's to my current set-up. I've played at a few house parties, but that's about it. Just like SATO GTS, I've never had the experience or connections to front at a club, but I wouldn't mind the chance. My style is mostly house (deep house, funky house, some french house, and a bit of tribal - sorry URMINE), but now I'm starting to get into breaks and electro too, which I'm loving! I'm kinda over the happyhard - now it just sounds cheesy to me. Each to their own, tho. Anyway, if vinyl wasn't so expensive, and I wasn't so addicted to music, I'd probably own a Skyline too by now, instead of still driving around in my regularly-abused-but-still-running-somehow Corolla. I did a count about a year ago using only the receipts that I'd kept, and found I'd spent over $4,500. So guessing on the rest I've spent there's 5K that I could (and should) have put towards a car. All this to support a habit? Oh well, at least it ain't on drugs... BTW, has anyone ever bought vinyl on-line? Nick

Hey, I read about the Autech atmo-RB26'd R32 in Wheels magazine way back when the R32 was just starting to make a killing here in Oz. The article mentioned that it was being specially modded by Autech with the atmo RB26, but didn't say much else. Unfortunately I never heard, read or saw anything else about it. By the way, Autech are the ones that modded the R33 four-dours for Nissan to make them GT-R's! Not sure if they had a hand in producing/modding the R32 GTB4's though...
-
Hey, if you were offering a pair of Pioneer CDJ-1000's at some ridiculously low price, then I'd probably be interested, but until then I'll stick to vinyl... Best of luck though!

Cops everywhere last night in the city (Sat.)
GoldZilla replied to HUSTLR's topic in New South Wales
Apparently this "Operation Viking" thing (according to the news) was mainly a big drug bust thing through Oxford St, and if I remember correctly they did that on Sunday night, so who knows what the hell the cops are doing. If they're targetting and catching drink drivers, fair enough, but if they're just out to target modded cars, then that sucks. There are plenty of cars that are unmodified but are just plain $#!tboxes that should be removed from the road first... ULTIM8DTM5: Went to Connections for a friend-of-a-friend's birthday a few weeks back and saw C42K (formerly "unfamilia" on SDU) there. Gotta agree, nice place and VERY nice girls!!! The DJ's there are good too, but the music would rate a bit higher if they'd stop repeating songs... -
Silver-Arrowz Nice choice! I've been thinking of doing the same to use as a run-about to drive to work, shops, etc. in if I ever get around to owning a Skyline. Drop a 20v 4A-GE in and leave it as a low-key sleeper with those old Supra or Cressida wheels and fresh paint - Sweet!!!

If it's the same guys that were organising the PowerFC group buys, then it sounded dodgy... My cousin (his log-in on SDU is "Blukie") made some enquiries to possibly purchase one himself for his GTS25t. Apparently they listed on the thread that they needed a certain amount of orders before it would be financially viable to make the purchase - I think they quoted 25, but I can't remember exactly... Anyway, Blukie sent emails back and forth to get details of how the money and product transfers were going to happen. Price-wise it looked pretty good, what with our pathetic dollar being worth more than the $NZ. But what they failed to mention in the thread was that they needed 25 (as an example) orders for EACH kind of PowerFC - i.e. 25 for the R-32 GTSt, 25 for the R-32 GT-R, 25 for the R-33 GTS25t, etc. Another factor was the amount of time that the transfers would take for the units to arrive, even though they'd held your money for god-only-knows how long... I'm not so sure that it would be a good idea, especially seeing as they're across the pond. Not that that's a major factor, but it doesn't help if things were to go wrong... For your sake, 32ZiLA, i hope it's not the same guys!

Dunno boys, but it looks like this may be the... ummm... KEY to attracting Shell... Hey Shell, care to send any Skyline friendly, attractive female friends to Sydney? I'm sure there'll be a queue of guys waiting...

I use the Meguiars Endurance stuff, and it's great. Easy and quick to apply, comes with the applicator, no cleaning needed unless your tyres are that REALLY horrible brown/grey colour, and lasts ages! Speaking of which, my car needs a wash and service (at least an oil and filter change)...
