  1. I've got the same initials, but I guess this rules out me using "NT photography" as a name... Meh. These look like nice shots, dude, but can you post them up here without the watermark going straight through the middle?
  2. Sometimes they're reasonable, sometimes it's almost exhorbitant, Dan. If it's only for one small-sized item, sometimes it's not worth it. It really depends on how quickly I want the item, too - but sometimes you have a few options with the same/similar delivery ETA but a difference in what it will cost to have it sent to you. If I need a few things at a time and can't make it to a local shop, or if I can get it all from one place together, then I bite the bullet and pay a bit extra if I need to.
  3. LOL, missing the engagement is not an option.
  4. Nah, I've heard some scary things (from a few sources) about the JB clutches exploding, and I like my legs just the way they are - no flywheel and clutch implants for me.
  5. Actually, speaking of the last proper Stagea meet, keep an eye on issue 150 of Performance Imports magazine, which should be out in the next few months.
  6. Crap - I've got an engagement to attend that night...
  7. Yeah, that's not bad at all. The beauty of taking these shots is that you don't really need any special equipment at all, beyond a camera that can take long exposures, and a tripod or something else that's steady to keep the camera from moving during the shot.
  8. I've just had the same with an Exedy clutch, it's been in my car for approx. 10 months, and it's gone - in the space of about 2 weeks it went from mild slipping in 4th and 5th to slipping really badly in every gear except first. I've done 8 drag launches (at the SAU Drag Day last year) and the odd Texi day (I usually volunteer for the Texi days, so I only tend to do 2 or 3 runs in a day). I'm looking for a Nismo Super Coppermix single at a somewhat decent price - can anyone hook a brother up???
  9. OK, as I mentioned I wasn't that impressed with the Vivid Festival this year, but on the way into the city I used the opportunity to make sure my new GoPro was working - I bought one last year and it died completely (wouldn't turn on at all), so it was replaced under warranty. It's my first attempt at a time-lapse, and more an experimentation than anything else. It could have been much better, but it could have been much worse too. Apparently the HD Hero2 deals with low light a lot better than the original. I might buy one later on to supplement this one... Anyway...
  10. "Charcoal Mine Korean BBQ" (Church Street, North Parra - next door to the bike shop) is better than Carne Station used to be, as far as I can remember. "In The Mood For Thai" on the corner of George Street and Horwood Place (diagonally opposite the Roxy) in Parra is great for a quick, cheap feed. The food is cooked and served really quickly, service is pretty good, and it's a relaxing little atmosphere. My favourite dumplings place is "New Shanghai Chinese" in Liverpool Street, Ashfield (currently closed for renovations), but they've also got two locations in Chatswood (Chatswood Chase and Lemon Grove Plaza), one in Bondi Junction Westfields, and one in Charlestown for the Newcastle peeps.
  11. I went into the city earlier tonight to check out Vivid - going on a Friday night was not a wise choice, and it was ridiculously packed. I found it pretty ordinary, and battling crowds while carrying a bag and tripod turned me off taking photos. I think I took maybe 15 all up, but I did have the GoPro attached to the inside of the windscreen of my cousin's car shooting in interval mode while we were driving, so depending on how those turned out I might post them up. If there's enough I'll make a short time-lapse (somehow) once I figure out how to do it and make it look decent.
  12. Hottest R33 Evah!
  13. I use a few. If I'm concerned with warranty (especially for camera bodies), then I buy locally and use Digital Camera Warehouse. They've got stores in Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne. A bit more expensive sometimes, but at least I'm covered by warranty. I bought a GoPro off them late last year, and they just had it replaced for me, no issues, due to it not switching on at all. Buying lenses and most accessories, I buy either from B&H Photo and Video in NYC, or DigitalRev in Hong Kong. All three stores are very quick for delivery - usually 3 business days, even from NY or HK!
  14. Guys, this thread is approx. 4 squillion years old, you can stop replying with suggestions now...
  15. Received mine today too, thanks Terry!
  16. Virgin white, I sent you a PM about 2 weeks ago, please check your PM inbox (top right of screen, labelled " Messenger") and reply to that...
  17. Terry, I'd love one too, please!

There you go, Luke, it worked. Matt, love the Mario Kart shot. Fongy, I didn't manage to get out to the VW Nats today (or the JDMS meet, either), was stuck at home with a headache.

Well, kids, tonight I actually used the softbox/lightbox/whatever it's called to shoot some macro shoots. I had two off-camera flashes (one on each side) being triggered by the pop-up flash on the camera. Unfortunately, I've developed a headache over the past hour and hence CBF doing the PP work to see what I can wrangle out of the very few shots I took. It's a shame, Sam's barely posted ANY shots since he got back from the UK. He was getting awesome at it too.
  20. The one with the steering wheel and the yellow dot at the bottom of it is probably to turn on/off the gearshift switches on your steering wheel (+/-).
  21. Date has been corrected, peoples. The cruise is on Sunday, the 17th of June, 2012.
  22. I might come out to spectate and fire off some photos if I have nothing else planned - I'm yet to check my calendar.
  23. There's free video editing software out there that will flip the files so they're the right way up.
  24. I spotted a red R34 GTt last night at the Caltex on Mulgoa Road in Penrith, just after 6.30pm. Thought it was AggroDave at first, but this car had a black bonnet and Dave's doesn't.
  25. If you live in Stanhope Gardens, you've got NO excuse not to come out to the next Texikhana day! It's totally worth participating in, and there is no pressure to push yourself or your car beyond what you're comfortable with. Just keep an eye on the Events section. Do yourself a favour!
