I bought a G12 a few weeks ago. For a "compact" it's still kinda bulky, but it's much easier to carry around than my DSLR, and I don't have to change lenses. It's proving to be a great little purchase, and I had both the 60D and the G12 when I was on holidays from last Friday until Wednesday. The photos are dumped on my laptop, and there are quite a few where I took the same or similar shots with both cameras so I could see for myself how the G12 was performing. I will upload some in the next few days with no processing, so you can see for yourself how well it performs against a same-brand DSLR.

IN!!! Nice and close to home for me too.

The Official S A U - N S W Stagea's 15Th Anniversary Cruise
GoldZilla replied to GoldZilla's topic in Events Archive
Awesome, Theo! Thanks Eugene, wish they'd actually have fitted the car properly. I'd have bought them, but 9.5" wide with a +15mm offset doesn't work... -
LOL, my Stagea is my one and only car. I constantly see cars that I would love to buy, but I can't see myself getting rid of the LOLvo, and I can't justify owning two cars.

GoldZilla replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
OK everyone, the event thread is live, so go and post your interest and attendance details! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/375393-the-official-sau-nsw-stageas-15th-anniversary-cruise/#entry5987929 -
Don't lie, dude, they are pink and you denying it is only making it worse... Oh, I forgot to mention that on my very brief dash to NZ over the weekend I spotted a red s2 C34 in Auckland, turning off Customs St East and into Queen St
-
Spotted a silver M35 with the "pink" Nismo stripes today parked on Sussex Street/Hickson Road in Barangaroo (Darling Harbour).
-
LOL, it might help to add what suburb and state you saw this car so the owner can identify themselves if they're on here...
-
Oh, and with this, it helps to use faster cards (class 4 or higher) where possible if you're going to be shooting using the burst mode.
-
Ahh cool, I'm familiar with the 1000D, my cousin has one and I used to have (still own, but it's on loan to another cousin) a 450D, which is one step up. Alright, the main benefit of using RAW images is that when you modify them in any way, the original file is NEVER damaged and/or written over - the changes you make are written to a small separate file. When you modify a Jpeg file, unless you've made a copy, you'll never be able to revert back to the original photo as shot by the camera.

LOL! Hmm, changed to just a link... -
What camera are you using again, Richie? Even on a 4gb car, you should still be able to get a few hundred shots in at least. I personally always shoot RAW, due to the better ability to manipulate photos better in PP.

Anyone seen this? -
WooHoo! Thanks dude! Where were you? I can't remember seeing a white 33.
-
Hey Scott, welcome aboard! See if you can get your hands on a "HyperRev" catalogue for the Stagea - there are two. They're a bit old now, but might be able to help with your search for something you like.
-
Yep, as confirmed by Kiwi, that is a 260RS front bar, and all the series 2 260RS's came with that style of small round foglight/indicator similar to the R33's. Oh, and welcome to the Stagea community!

Or even better with an R32 GT-R - install a switch for the fuse, and you have instant RWD with minimal hassles! I was considering an S15 when I bought my Stag too. Even 6yrs after owning my Stag, I've still never driven an S15, so I've got no idea if I would ever have liked one. Meh, I went on gut instinct in the end, and I'm still very happy with my decision! -
Stagea 15Th Anniversary Event...
GoldZilla replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yep, would have been kinda funny to watch the rock climber or the Commodore roll off into the building (as long as no-one was injured in the process). Was good to catch up with Alex, Craig and Ryan, and I'm pretty sure Ian had a good time too. It would have been good for his cabin fever after being stuck inside the house most of the past two months since his bike crash. Nice of Craig to volunteer helping Ian with the mods for Ian's little red wagon too! Alright peoples, I'm in the process of doing the proper thread for the cruise, and once it's all sorted and ready to go I'll post links to it here and in each of the state Events threads for Queensland, Canberra and Victoria too. So keep your eyes open for it! -
Okay people, as you know, the SAU-NSW Executive committee have been working towards putting together a cruise to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Nissan Stagea. This is an official cruise put together and fully supported by SAU-NSW, and the details are as follows: Who: all Nissan Stagea drivers, enthusiasts and lovers. Interstate people are more than welcome! (You don't have to own a Stagea either, other cars are more than welcome) What: A cruise and gathering to celebrate 15 years of the existance of the Stagea When: Meet up at Top Secret Imports, 36 Forge Street, Blacktown @ 10.00am for a 10.30am departure - Sunday the 2nd of October. Stageas will be leaving TSI first, then Skylines, then any others who may attend. (Breakfast will be on the BBQ from around 9.30am, feel free to come along for that too!) Where: our destination is Wiseman's Ferry for a lunch and to relax amongst the company of other owners and enthusiasts. Route Map: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?saddr=Forge+Street,+Blacktown,+New+South+Wales&daddr=-33.6624219,150.9219089+to:-33.65734,150.94221+to:Old+Northern+Rd&hl=en&ll=-33.564284,151.085358&spn=0.47432,1.056747&sll=-33.627484,150.969658&sspn=0.236986,0.528374&geocode=Ff35_P0dyrX-CCnTnBjY4JgSazFJRnQmoIExgg%3BFSta_v0dtOL-CCmfqdGKxZ8SazFQdLjlZ30BEw%3BFQRu_v0dAjL_CCnjjt5fHWANazG3ogBlkyQlSw%3BFXWPAv4d0Nn_CA&vpsrc=6&mra=ltm&via=1,2&t=h&z=11 Now, the route we're planning for this day does have some beautiful stretches of road, but as this will be aimed as a family-friendly day (partners and kids are most welcome), we are going to cruise at or around the posted speed limits and keep it safe. As previously mentioned, Top Secret Imports are sponsoring the day, and we are aiming to have a few give-aways and surprises over the duration of the day. Also, we'll be having some coverage in Performance Imports magazine. If you have a UHF radio at hand, please bring it along on the day - it's handy to have in case the groups get broken up, so no-one takes a wrong turn and gets lost. So, who's in? 1. GoldZilla (Nick - NSW) 2. WAGON_BOY (Theo - NSW) 3. JDM Performance (Eugene - NSW) - **tentative** 4. Daleo (Dale - NSW) 5. 180fan (Brian - Bathurst, NSW) 6. Duncan (NSW) 7. Jetwreck (Craig - NSW) 8. Commsman (Leon - Northern NSW) 9. Hanso (Adam - ACT) 10. PN-Mad (Alex - NSW) 11. StageIan (Ian - NSW) 12. bored33 (Andrew - NSW) 13. Calsonic14U (Luke - NSW) 14. Terry_GT-R34 (Terry - NSW) 15. Stagea 15Th Anniversary Event...
GoldZilla replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The police were fine, they'd been pre-warned that the event was happening. They just wanted everyone to stay off the road, which is fair enough. How long were you there, Iain? -

OK everyone, this big meet is on tonight!!! Who's coming along? Like I said, they're supporting us, so let's support them. There'll be a BBQ going, plenty of give-aways (both from Top Secret Imports, and from Project D Drift School, as well as others), and lots of cars to look at. It should be huge!
