  1. I like that shot too, it works well (even though I'm not as much of a fan of R33s as I am of the other chassis). With the DoF, you'll obviously have to shoot with a smaller aperture to get the mirror in focus too, maybe between around f/5.6 and f/8? That should still leave the car in the background with a nice bokeh effect. The areas covered around the headlight/parker and the blinker and spotty are super-sharp, which is nice!
  2. I haven't had it long enough to use it in a motorsport environment yet, MaikuL, so I couldn't tell you yet, unfortunately. The camera was only released late September/early October. However, in saying that, I did have some success with my 450D at WTAC/Superlap, and seeing as the 60D is a better camera with faster focussing, a faster burst mode and better resolution, it should be nice. I'll have to find some photos from that and post them up.
  3. Beyond what Kory and Zennon have already mentioned, if your Canon camera has ONLY a red dot on the lens mounting, then you can ONLY use EF lenses (because the camera you'd be using in that instance is a full-frame jobbie, hence the need for a full-frame EF lens). If your Canon camera has BOTH the red dot and the white square, then you can use either the EF or EF-S lenses on your camera.
  4. Hopes and dreams, maybe? Hopes of never encountering said speed bumps or low bridges. Dreams of going wider, higher, longer and wilder (is that even a word?) with the next round of body kit mods.
  5. Looks like SOMEONE is trying to get their post count up...
  6. Sorry guys, been busy yesterday and today, and tomorrow is the same. I'm going to try and get out there tomorrow night to see what's around and open for night shooting too.
  7. To add to what Kory and Matt have said, also try checking out Canon's own videos, either on their website http://www1.canon.com.au/worldOfEos/learn/home/default.aspx or via the Canon Australia channel on YouTube. Even though the videos focus on D-SLRs, you will pick up lots of information that will help you with a P+S like the G12 where there are heaps of settings you can play with...
  8. Agreed! I actually like the Cayenne, but that thing is hurting my eyes and my brain!
  9. Wow, sh!t just got real!!!
  10. Or make sure she gives you an equivalent amount of money to spend on yourself or mods for the car!
  11. So, where are the proposed rule changes listed? There's no link to where the details are in the petition, and I'd personally like to see them to see what we're up against.
  12. Ouch again - two Stageas crashed in less than two days? I think I'm staying home today, or getting a lift wherever I go.
  13. Ouch... The main question: are YOU alright? Cars can be repaired or replaced.
  14. Very valid point, Chris! But once that's taken into account, all the buyer/installer has to worry about is if there are enough holes on the frame around the speaker to give you diffferent options when mounting them.
  15. Hmm, seeing as the call for English translation for the series 2 M35 information/navigation screens is still not quite done (and I have no idea how close it is to completion, so this might be pointless), I'm wondering if the UK or USA system would help in getting it finalised. http://www.youtube.com/user/fifthgearuk#p/u/6/e9zPlPo_OOo
  16. Whether it's a 6"or a 6.5"speaker, they're pretty much all interchangable as far as I know (maybe with the exception of a few particualr speaker models) - most people are just too lazy to mention that extra half inch of speaker diameter when they're describing it.
  17. LOL, my sister's boyfriend might trade in his Delica, and I'd eventually like to get my old man to at least consider a s2 M35 when he gets rid of the Camry (yep, he actually owns one), so you're partly right, Craig. But the C34 is staying, unless some miracle happens and I can afford a 6-speed manual Axis S.
  18. Just spotted a really dark green s2 C34 with stickers all over the back window on Station Road in Seven Hills, rego was RS45TR. I just did a run to the shops and was using the old man's car, should've taken my own... Bah!
  19. Didn't take a very close look at either of the two white ones parked on the street, unfortunately, so I can't really give you an opinion. One was registered, and the other had trade plates. I know that the one with trade plates had a woodgrain steering wheel, no idea about the other one.
  20. That would be smasha in the R33, Sheri.
  21. Correct, definitely no HICAS in any series 1 except the 260RS.
  22. So, boys and girls, what's the story with the NSW meet-up?
  23. I was at North Shore Prestige today, and there were two whit AXIS s2's parked out the front, one with trade plates hanging off it. I'm guessing that's your new wheels, right?
  24. Trial and error, I suppose. Either way, I look forward to seeing what comes of it.
  25. Don't forget, guys and girls, that all Execs, Moderators and Admins do this as volunteers - as Ash mentioned, none of us are "employed" in any way, shape or form by SAU.
