  1. Either should be fine, but IIRC you should use a CPL to get rid of reflections from the glass.
  2. This is another one where people need to refer to THIS... There are too many people with varying experiences at different workshops, so the best bet is to make a few calls or visits to workshops YOU'VE got in mind and make up YOUR OWN decision based on how comfortable YOU are with the information YOU'VE been given.
  3. Yours is a 260RS, Yudy, so you're lucky enough to have the R33 GTR brakes as standard. The RS-Four's had 2-piston fronts and 1-piston rears with different fittings...
  4. LOL, it was. "Hey, this is the reflec.... Oh..." Yeah, B+H had it for US$1,060 (Canon US) or US$1,040 (imported), so I might consider that too once I figure out the final cost, but the DigitalRev pack already included UV and CP filters, as well as some gift pack (which looks like a cleaning cloth and solution). http://www.canon.com.au/worldofeos/photo5/home/ Not sure how many packs are available, Owen, but get in quick if they still are! It's free, too.
  5. Hey kids! Owen, that flash looks a lot like my Sigma DG-530 Super flashes, and it looks like the features are very similar. Awesome value for that price, especially if the build quality is good enough to get you by until you decide you want/need something better (if ever). Oh, I bought my second flash through DigitalRev too, and have the same reflector. The reflector looked like it would have been pretty handy, but it broke when I took it out of my bag to show Kory the other day. Lesson: always pull it from the strongest side (the side with no splits or perforations for folding) when you're remove it from your bag. Matt, I got your SMS but I've already got plans for tomorrow, so no can do. Besides, any sort of trekking over distances would kill me due to my health, unfortunately. Re: the weddings, I've been to two weddings where I've brought my camera along and just stood in the background taking snaps. I made sure I wasn't in the way of the official photographers at each one, though. Oh, I got my Photo5 kit from Canon today - I've taken the wrapping off it and am about to go and try some stuff out. The 60D is pretty nice in the hand, just need to get that 17-55mm f/2.8. Should I just go through DigitalRev again? It's just under A$1,270 with two filters... http://www.digitalrev.com/en/canon-ef-s-17...ilter-1719.html
  6. Does it have swivel and angle adjustment, Owen?
  7. The what and the what??? I'm guessing the Nissin is a flash, but the other thing, is that an extension tube, Owen?
  8. Did mine with the help of my old man a few years back (ok, actually, he did a majority of the work...). It's a fiddly and time consuming job, but not hard in a technical aspect. I think we did it in about 5hrs, which is not bad considering he'd never worked on anything with a turbocharged car before, despite 40-odd years of tinkling with cars in just about every area except major electrics or auto boxes.
  9. 1. Make your car produce bucketloads of POWAH!!! 2. Remove front driveshaft. 3. Run on dyno at SAU-NSW official dyno day 4. ???? 5. Profit 6. Win!!!
  10. On the home page, Sidd.
  11. Are you still in Sydney, Micah?
  12. This should have been asked in the Stagea brakes thread, but I'll forgive you as you're pretty new here to the SAU community... In the future, your best bet is to do a search for your question, as most of these issues (especially for the C34-chassis) have been dealt with before. Regarding your question, though, just make sure that the lines you get are ADR complaint, or it's one more thing for the car to be defected on. There are plenty of companies that do custom braided lines that comply, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
  13. Sidd, one thing I noticed is in your slide-shows, when the descriptions come up (when you mouse-over each photo), you should try and use full sentences and proper grammar here wherever applicable. It will make your whole approach seem more professional. You can still keep it "fun," but people will see that you're dedicated to getting things right with the set-up of your website, and will trust that you will do the same with their photos if they hire you. (Then again, maybe it's just me being a stickler for proper use of the English language - I hate that txt and sms language is taking over the minds of people who should know better, especially teachers at schools.) /rant
  14. LOL
  15. This is an old thread. Any new people looking for such information should read THIS...
  16. All the usual questions should be answered here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/bu...e-f-t35129.html
  17. Firstly, welcome to SkylinesAustralia, and also welcome to the wonderful experience of owning a Stagea! With your question about the fans, that would depend a fair bit on what temperature you've set for the Air-Con or heater. If it's on Auto and you've set the temperature up high to warm yourself, then the air will almost always come out around the feet because hot air rises. If it's set to cool (still in Auto, and especially with the Air-Con switched on), then the air will come out of the top vents. This is quite normal on all cars with climate control HVAC systems, no matter who makes the car.
  18. Yeah, fair enough. Was the owner reluctant to move it, or was it just such a heap of crap car that it took ages to move? If you can, try and find either some old buildings to use as a background for the car as a "period-style" shoot, or some newish buildings to completely offset the age of the car. Using the Joan Sutherland building worked well for some of your other shots, maybe try that again? New camera hasn't had much use yet, but if the weather is anything like today's, then tomorrow should be a good chance. Just like Owen, I need to wash my car too.
  19. A HKS turbocharger or supercharger kit and the supporting mods is the answer to all your problems, Alex!
  20. You serious? I was nowhere nearby!
  21. Well, those wheels are terrible - wrong size, style and offset. Needs moar low. Needs less krome. Needs a LOT LESS ugly. Seriously, though? The placement of the tree in the first shot is "wrong" for me, maybe if the whole tree was visible and none of it was hidden by the car that shot would work better. It's probably just a matter of either composing the shot from a different angle, or relocating the car more to the RIGHT side of the frame. Maybe if whatever is directly behind the car (a smaller tree, with heaps more leaves?) was completely in view, and the car was to the complete right of the larger tree without leaves, so it too could be in full view? Also, green car on green grass is a bit much. Maybe find a background with a contrasting colour.
  22. Woot, my first triptych! Available for purchase on RedBubble: http://www.redbubble.com/products/configure/24431384
  23. Thanks Kory! It's funny, even in the RAW file the photo looks so surreal (at least to me), as if I'd stitched my cousin into the background in PS. Hmm, I might try a few test shots and see what happens anyway- if it works, then bonus! If not, then CS5 it is.
  24. Took over 400 photos on Monday, but only made time to process a few - damned Facebook and SAU are so distracting! This one is my cousin from Canberra, he was up here for a wedding and I took him to a skate park in Merrylands (same place we had our SAU Show n Shine a few years back) on Woodville Rd. This is the first time I've tried action shots like this, and I'm pretty happy with the results. Used a mix of Av and Tv modes, and with this shot there was too much in the way of a distracting background, so I did some RAW processing (exposure, saturation, and then fill light because he was wearing all black), then de-sat in PS, and colour splash. Oh, and today (Tuesday) I bought a 60D!!! Haven't started using it yet, but hopefully will get a chance this week. Also, hopefully CS3 will be able to deal with the RAW files...
