This Is The New Recipe Chat Thread...
GoldZilla replied to Houdini's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I was gonna say the same thing - apart from where the gap widens, it looks good. -
LOL, my mate's been working on the M2 upgrade/resurfacing lately too, I've heard. He drives a profiler. The new surface is awesome, so much quieter to drive on! As long as there are "cats' eyes" on the lane markings, I prefer hotmix everywhere for road surfacing. The only time it sucks is when it's raining because without the cats' eyes you just can't tell where the lanes go. Oh, I almost always slow down, and will do it more now that there are mobile speed cameras around - I've never been booked for a driving offence, and I'm not going to start now.
-
If it was last night (or, technically, early this morning) between around 12.15am and 12.30am, then that was me. My car's an s1, though... Where were you? You're not one of the road workers who blocks the lanes off for 4kms and reduces the speed limit to 40km/h, so they can do road works for, what, all of 15 metres, are you? That is REALLY annoying!
-
Spotted Luke and Kacey (fat-lad and Coastal Chill) tonight in their silver s1, and also spotted Ian (Xmetal) who'd tagged along with them for the cruise to the Thursday night Central Coast meet-up.

Maybe it's just my distaste towards big chrome wheels, airbrushing, impractical leather (or even worse, pleather) interiors, and "performance mods" consisting of an airfilter and exhaust on an engine connected to an auto-box. I dunno, I prefer rolling stealth.

Bought that magazine today - apart from that article and maybe 2 others, the magazine is absolute sh*t... I'm soooo disappointed.

Oh, I managed to catch this on the same day, actually! I was walking around with my sister when this little ladybug landed on her hand. I fired off a quick shot, and while I was still looking thru the eyepiece of the camera, I saw it open its wings and fly away - I really wish I'd caught it in the act!

Good work, Matboy! Here's another shot from the day at Linnwood House's Open Day a few weeks back. The day was pretty badly organised, so I was in a bit of an ordinary mood and lost a fair bit of inspiration. Also, seeing as there were quite a lot of people and so many trees around (and I'm still a newb at Photoshop, so cloning them out would take me a fair chunk of time with questionable results), some of the nicer cars on the day could have been better captured if I was in a better frame of mind. Meh.

Absolutely, Kory - the club is for Skyline enthusiasts, so it doesn't really matter what you drive. Heck, quite a few of our members and Execs (past and present) don't even own a Skyline anymore!
-
Here's an oddball car for you all - I've heard of Ramblers before because a school friend's parents owned a MASSIVE land-yacht of a wagon called a Rambler Matador, but I have no idea what model this particular car is:
-
Phill, there are a bunch of us in the Blacktown, Parramatta and Hills areas - it's just a matter of us managing to find the time to get together for a meet-up. Maybe when it gets warmer???
-
I absolutely love my s1 C34 (especially because it was converted to a manual by the previous owner), but I'd have to say that the M35 is a more refined car. But that's progress for you - if newer versions of cars didn't get better and better as the model progressed, we'd all be disappointed and stop buying them.
-
Ooh, I forgot to mention that I saw Sammeh's old R32 (rego SL32IM) the other day on the M4 heading westbound as I was heading the other way on my way home.
-
Awesome, thanks Ben!

OK, who knows where I can get a decent, lowish cost electric paint polishing buffer? I don't want it to be a cheap, shitty unit, but I don't want to buy something that's industrial grade that will cost a mint, either. I'm pretty sure I've seen some cordless ones too that use the same battery packs as cordless drills, etc., but I might be mistaken. Anyone?

Sau:nsw Official Wakefield Trackday 2010 - Full
GoldZilla replied to S13Deviat's topic in Events Archive
That's greatly appreciated, Prue and Stripey-Andrew! Ando has all the goodies with him, and it's just a matter of making sure you sell the stock at the right prices (depending on if people are a SAU-NSW club member or not), writing a receipt, and handing the item over. Oh, and Zebra, if you still want that jacket, snap it up while you're there! Special pricing to get rid of them! -
Nice one, Tenchi - looking forward to seeing photos from both you and Kory (FST513)!

Sau:nsw Official Wakefield Trackday 2010 - Full
GoldZilla replied to S13Deviat's topic in Events Archive
As posted in the other Wakie thread... OK peoples, as I've previously mentioned, I won't be able to make it on Saturday due to some minor but annoying issues with my own car. A small batch of the official SAU-NSW Merchandise will be making its way down there, though, so if you don't already have any items from our range, this would be the perfect opportunity to buy up. The goodies are currently being taken down by Ando (S13Deviat), but if we could have some volunteers to help sell the items during the day while Ando is busy, it would be GREATLY appreciated. Even if you can spare half an hour here or there between your sessions on the track, then that would be awesome! If you CAN help do this, please let Ando or one of the other Execs know at the beginning of the day (during the driver's briefing would be a good time)... If you're wishing to buy something on the day, then I kindly ask that you please be patient with whoever is helping out. Also, if there is something that you want that's not amongst the stock available at Wakie on Saturday, please send me a PM when you get back... Oh, once again, it's going to be COLD down there, and there are just 4 SAU-NSW jackets left for sale (one Medium in Grey/Black, one Medium in Blue/Black, and 2 3XLs in Blue/Black, if my memory serves me correctly) - snap them up and keep yourself warm! -

Very nice! -
The best analogy I've heard (or read) regarding the relationship between Aperture and Shutter Speed was in relation to a water tap - the wider you open the tap (i.e. the lower the Aperture value and hence wider the opening), the less time you have to have that tap open (i.e. the faster the shutter speed you can use) to let the water flow (i.e. let light into the lens and onto the sensor or film)...

Wheel Studs..... Diameter & Thread Pitch?
GoldZilla replied to Stagea_Neo's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I'm pretty sure it's M12x1.25 -
Xmetal made his own rig about a year ago using suction caps I think he bought from B&H. He hasn't posted here on SAU for quite a while, but check out his website for some rig shots. Also on Facebook, but he's got no automotive shots there at all at the moment.

Degrease the area and see if the leak comes up again, then monitor where it originates from.

Still doubt it was me, I didn't go anywhere on Tuesday at that time. Could have been my old man, but I seriously doubt it, as he hates driving my car.
