  1. Matt, are you shooting in RAW format? Photos look pretty good, but I think you need to bump up the saturation a bit to make the colours "pop" a little more.
  2. Compete for lowest output? It'll be either of you or Duncan and Kel in their March SuperTurboMegaFunScrubAndUndersteerMachine. Or maybe I'll get James to bring along his Bluebird (L20 power + auto, baby)!
  3. SAU's Dyno Day is on that day, link in my signature!
  4. Hey Brett, welcome to the forums! Is your car a freshly-imported one, or one that's been in the country for a while? If it's a fresh import, you might want to make sure the importer/compliancer has changed the nozzle in the compliancing process (assuming it's even different from Japanese nozzles, anyway). I believe it's one of the requirements of the process, so it should have been done.
  5. I like shots 1 and 4, but number 3 is my favourite because that plant looks so fragile in the shot - great composition!
  6. Even if you're not going to get a D-SLR camera, then the tutorials at Canon's website can be very helpful in teaching you about what all the photographic terms are, and how they relate to each other. http://www1.canon.com.au/worldOfEos/learn/home/default.aspx And if you've got any experience with Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements), then a camera that takes shots in RAW format is awesome!
  7. Matching plates too! How cool is that?
  8. Awesome shot, Zennon!
  9. Needs more round tail-lights, Hempy...
  10. Dude, you'd be surprised - I used to work for a government agency dealing with compensation claims, and there are a LOT of claims going through. CTP/green slips are what pay for your injuries (and injuries to other people) when you're hurt in a car accident. Think of it this way: if you were ever unlucky enough to be in an accident and hurt someone, would you rather be paying for their medical bills out of your own pocket? Even just an ambulance trip to the hospital (no matter how close) was over $400, last I heard!!! As for the main topic, best way to find the cheapest green slip is to use the Green Slip Calculator.
  11. Was that before or after you were trying to find the back way to Quakers Hill station mid-run?
  12. Nah, I kinda like it there! It's like a glitch in the Matrix...
  13. I think it's actually the ones in the side, Steve, that are used for the radio antennas.
  14. Hmmm, thanks for that, Zennon, I'll keep those in mind. I'm pretty sure there are some spare LED torches around the house here, so I'll have to keep one in my bag. Didn't even think of using the headlights, meh.. Such a simple idea that I overlooked. Thinking about that photo again, maybe I should have used the 50mm lens and seen what aperture the camera would have set for the 30sec exposure.
  15. Hey Mat, welcome to SAU, and to the Stagea section of the forums. First things first, do a quick search for your problem in this section of the forums, and you should be at least be able to find a link with info for getting ECU codes. Once you do that, see if anything matches what's previously posted. If you can't find any details about what corresponds to the codes given, post the details on here and see if anyone else can help!
  16. Agreed, I wanna see skid videos of my car too, if they exist!
  17. Nah, wasn't intentional - it was one of those quick shots where all I really did was set the shutter to 30sec, attached a suction-cap mount to the camera, and attached it to the windscreen of my mate's van which was parked in the driveway. I couldn't get a reading for the autofocus to zoom on, and because of where and how the camera was mounted, I couldn't manually focus either... It was a bit of a rushed experimental photo, as we were about to jump in the van to head home, so I didn't really make the time to set a manual focus/exposure point, and I used the flash simply to help the camera get somewhere to focus on. Next time I'll either set the focus point (or manually focus if possible) and spend a bit more time on it. I mainly just took the shot because of the clouds in the sky, shame they weren't in a more interesting pattern...
  18. Don't forget that, regardless of how high your car is centre of wheel to guard, things like exhausts may still be lower than the 100mm limit. I've heard that sometimes the car is measured with a full load, i.e. if you're driving around with passengers and/or a load, the car is measured to make sure it STILL sits above the legal height. *Disclaimer: that might be speculation, I'm not sure how true it is... Best to check with your state's authorities, although it's about bloody time they nationalise the standards so we don't have to worry as much if/when we take our cars interstate. Another thing is that ADR's should out-rule any local state rules, but it doesn't always happen that way.
  19. I should be in for this, both taking and getting snaps taken of my car. I'll have to confirm closer to the date, though...
  20. Spotted a silver R32 GTSt with white front bar tonight near the airport around 9.15pm...
  21. Mine's running an R34 PowerFC - no idea about the firing order for spark plugs or injectors, but I think that some mods had to be made in regards to the voltage and/or signal sent to the triggering of the spark plugs, or vice-versa. ATTESA works fine, no issues there!
  22. Zennon, the caterpillar and raindrop ones are awesome!
  23. Jay, where are those grafitti shots taken, is it in Sydney? Steve, a longer exposure at a smaller aperture would have blurred that first shot (the waterfall) nicely.
