...which annoys me even more! If they stuck to around the speed limit the whole time (where-ever possible), instead of slowing down and speeding up constantly, they'd probably save fuel and reduce their travel times.

Common sense and Govt. Departments don't mix, Terry. I worked for one for around 13 years, and the level of stupidity behind some departments, regulations and actions was sometimes beyond belief...

It really depends on if you want to have interchangeable lenses or not, Shanil. If you do, then a D-SLR (the D90) is the go, and will give you more options for different styles of photography in the future with specific lenses depending on what you choose to shoot. If you're only going to be taking happy snaps, then the P90 is probably best. If you want the option of recording video too, then that rules out the D-SLR. http://www.nikon.com.au/compareproductitem...1281-86d7b52026

Hmmm, I really should get one too, I CBF trying to force a too-high jack under my car everytime I need to change the oil. Luckily the oil filter relocation kit makes that part of it a helluva lot easier!

Where do you usually take your car, Eddie? I know of a few places out my way (Parramatta and Hills areas), but nothing about who'd be available in or around the city, unless you look at the North Shore options..

I had my camera with me, but it didn't leave the bag I had it in because I was too busy. I was mega-tired after late nights and busy days leading up to the show, so god only knows how Duncan was after watching his car getting tuned (unsuccessfully, unfortunately), getting to bed after 2am and then being back at Fairfield at roughly 6am(?)...

M35 250rx 70th Anniversary Edition
GoldZilla replied to mxfly's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hmmm, considering my limited knowledge of the M35, I'm gonna take a few guesses here of stuff I *think* might be different: Different steering wheel? V35 Skyline 350GT alloy wheels Autech Axis-style chrome grill with standard RX bar -
Spotted a silver V35 coupe today heading West on the Hume Highway, crossing under the Meccano set at 2.15pm.

Spotted a gold M35 turning left at the Meccano set from Liverpool Rd onto Woodville Rd at 2.15pm

Newcastle And Central Coast Skyline Spotted Thread

Spotted! LOL -
Hahaha, we all put shit on you because we love you and your car, Stu!!! How's your daughter, now that she's home? From experience, there's no better place to make a recovery - hospitals might have you close to where all the best medical care is, but there's nothing like the comfort of familiar surroundings to help put your mind at ease!

SS is the V8, all 6.0 litres of it

A Lamborghini-derived V10, no less! They reduced the capacity by 200cc, but made up the shortfall (not as if there was one anyway) by adding twin-turbos...

Seconded!

Yep, John, it's STILL one of my favourite '32 GTSt's! Love it, good work!

Hahaha, like Chubbs (evil_weevil) has said, we need a LOT more volunteers to run this show on an annual basis! The work that went into this show is almost beyond belief, and even the smallest things you could think of that are usually a non-issue at other SAU events became obstacles for this show. (Example: due to Fairfield Council's compliance with the NSW Food Safety regulations, we had to find a suitable food provider to cater the event instead of just running our usual BBQ and drinks. We'd considered getting a few of the vans that usually work at the Fairfield Markets on Saturdays, but most of them run the same vans at other markets on Sundays, and so seeing as they're pretty much guaranteed to have a lot of sales from a regular group of punters and other stall-holders, they would rather stick to their routine instead of risk a big financial loss for a one-off event like ours.) In regards to the Audi winning best Exterior, I can see both Malcolm's and Kevin's sides to the argument. This was a Skyline show, granted, but we did leave it open to other cars to enter, so it was (and may well continue to be, unless the "rules" are changed in the future) an issue if another car wins. But of the very few cars I did look at during the day, I was stunned at the detail in the paintwork on Kevin's A4. Of course, if you didn't get up close to the car, you wouldn't notice it, and it was only after I was alerted to do that that I realised the work that must have gone into it! Perhaps if it was parked more in the sun or was under fluorescent lights would the effect have been more apparent. Speaking of my not having spent much time looking around at the cars, I have to say I completely forgot to go and check out a few cars that I'd intended to see during the day, and especially to meet the owners.

Yep, I'd say an L2S is the best option, as an L2NS rules out your chances of doing some track days. L2S = Speed L2NS = Non-Speed

Hahahaha, you've gotta love the increasing range of hot wagons that are around now, both new and old(er)! The old Audi and Porsche developed RS2 (which was ONLY made in wagon form), the newer B5, B6, B7 and B8-series Audi RS4 Avant and the RS6 Avant; E30, E36, E46 and E91-series BMW M3 Touring; Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Estate... Hell, let's not forget the tuner-specials put out by Alpina, Brabus, and others...

Sydney Mechanic - Nrth Paramatta
GoldZilla replied to LordMidol's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Michael, I've been meaning to answer this but have been too busy with the lead-up to the to Show N Shine. There are a few good mechanics around this area, all the ones I'll list are within 10-15mins of North Parramatta. Speaking of tilt-shift, check out this video, it has heaps of the "toy-town" effect: http://appleguru.org/createamazing.html

Alright, I was exhausted yesterday when I got home and had a super-mega-uber- power nap. I'm really happy about how the day turned out, and although there were a few hiccups and non-events I believe the day was a success. The dyno was negotiated right up until the last minute, but unfortunately there was no way we could overcome the barriers left in the path of us and Unigroup Engineering from having it there, up and running. Oh well.. So, considering how well the day went overall, I'd like to add to what the rest of the Organising Committee have said already: Thanks to all you guys and girls who came out on the day, whether you had your cars entered or just came along to have a look at what was on display. Thanks to all the traders who showed up, shared their wares, advice, products, or just came along to have a chat and connect with the Skyline and general performance car community. Thanks to Terry Ashwood for bringing out the Skaife/Richards R32 Godzilla - it was good to have such an incredible historic landmark available for us to see in the metal on the day! Thanks also to Rod and Craig Markland for bringing out the R31 GTS-R (and Craig's menacing black M35 Stagea with the Nismo stripes) - another awesome landmark car in the history of Aussie motor racing! A MASSIVE thanks to all the volunteers who helped out during the day with all sorts of behind-the-scenes and "front-of-stage" work - I won't name you all because I'm likely to miss quite a few, but your help is greatly appreciated! You know who you all are! I really wish I'd had and/or made more time to go and have a proper look around at all the cars, but having looked at some of the photos, I'm absolutely stunned at the high level of quality that was there on the day. Good work, ladies and gents!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking!

Hmmm, Chris Rogers will probably see this thread shortly, and provide you with the right advice, or give his recommendation on an installer for us Sydney people.
-
Yep, as Duncan said, it was great to have you all out there yesterday. Unfortunately both of us were too busy to come over and have a proper chat. I just spotted a silver stock-looking s2 on Main Street, Blacktown. I was rolling stealth in my old man's Audi A4...

Alright, two days to go until our biggest Show N Shine yet! I've received quite a number of entries from fellow Stagea owners, so I'm stoked! If you haven't already entered, but are intending to turn up on the day, then: you CAN NOT pay by EFT, cheque or money order - it's way too late and we need to confirm that the transaction has gone through; and you MUST be there by 9.00am, no exceptions!!! If you've already put your entries through, please be there by 9.45am at the VERY latest - we want to have everyone in and parked before gates open to the public at 10.00am. Spectator entry is via a gold coin donation. See you there!
