  1. Ill have to make the effort to go to the 24hr one day, i can't be buggered at the moment. going to the 1000 every year kinda wore me down from the mount, plus its a 60 zone when i want to drive on it. i wish they'd let EVERYONE race on it. also idiots who drive the wrong way around the mount should be taken off to the side a beaten with a stick for being stupid.
  2. If i've gotten my console back together (*%&ing theives) i'll come along, otherwise i get bored on cruises without a stereo/radio
  3. yeah i think it does. i was quoted $150 to replace the srpings with standard ones, but i figured if i can get a set of standard cheaper ill install them myself. ill figure it out i guess, i can only break more things.
  4. Hey guys. i've had my car inspected and they told me it was too low, now i bought it at this height, but they told me its only 80mm clearance, when i need 100mm. anywho, i was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap way to raise the rear suspension by just an inch. does the rear seat have to be removed so at to get to the top of the tower thingy? i was thinking i could just put a spacer in the top of the tower, but im not really sure on how the suspension setup in a skyline works, as im only new to them. any help is appreciated.
  5. So it just an issue of peeling it off? if so i think i'll have a try myself.
  6. Does anyone know how to and how hard it is to remove tint? i got done for that and a number of other things at my 'defect' inspection. someone said i can just use a scraper and a hair drier, any knowledge on that? thanks in advance
  7. i'm interested in that too, but you're better off checking a freight company like TnT or something
  8. Just don't go through Braddon on a friday night, i haven't cleared my last defect yet...
  9. just a query, is this only open to SAU NSW members, or can anyone show up? I'd be keen but i haven't gotten around to getting membership yet.
  10. Hey guys, i'm in a similar situation, i got done at 96.5dB the other night, and slapped with a bloody fine. they've told me i need to get an inspection to clear it, but they didn't check under my hood, of which contains an aftermarket BOV and a Pod filter. does anyone know if this will also effect me getting the inspection? also, how dodgy is the steel wool in the muffler trick? i don't want to have to change the bloody muffler, i just bought the car.
  11. bloody RTA/Cops pulled me over and did an inspection on my car, reckoned it was too loud, and slapped me with a $99 defect fine, not happy jan. now i gotta find out how to shave 6dB off my exhaust note and get a bloody blue slip. stuff cruising around on a friday night in civic again, cops just pick on imports. a nice black supra got pulled up right behind me as i was leaving.
  12. My mate is coming into town with his newly turboed Toyota Sera, just wondring if there is any cruises on friday night, or if anyone knows a good place to just cruise around? i've finished uni for the term and want something to do
  13. AUTO-CO in phillip charged me heaps to repair 2 twisted axels on my kingswood, and about 2 weeks later my transmission kicked itself in. not going there with my 'line, that's fer sure
  14. My first car was a V8 and my 2nd a turbo, and i had no problems in either of them, sure i was picked up by the cops every weekend while driving, P plates stand out like that. but the thing about driver training is a good on, i had it unofficially in my paddock until i turned 17, and i learned how to control the car that much more. people who freak out when its raining or night or busy need to get something done, they're the ones who cause accidents, and training at a young age is the only way to get it to stick in my book
  15. My mate lives on Conrod straight, its great come race time. He gets me a residence pass which allows me to cruise around the track when all the booners are up the top getting pissed. Free tickets and a view down the straight are also a bonus.
  16. Just a quicky, anyone know a good place i can get a turbo timer/harness from? figured i'd need one sooner or later. cheers
  17. It was riced up for a couple of years with the 2L cars (Lancers, WRX etc.) appearing trying to get something. nobody went though, so they got rid of them. nothing can beat the 5L V8's at the mount on race day. the atmosphere is intence
  18. I was filling up at the Shell in braddon when a convoy of skylines and other assortments cruised past. im guessing this was a group of people on here? i tried to catch up but the bowser was super slow...
  19. Who around here owns a black R33 GTR? one passed me today down northbourne. it was a chick driving. just wondering if they're on the forum?
  20. I dont get to go home enough, but i would have gone if i didnt have exams at that time. You still go to CWM Bill, or has it died?
  21. i think i might give ultimate a go, where are the places in canberra that have it? i know the one in Braddon doesnt, its the closest to me
  22. I just filled up with Vortex after using optimax for ages, and it crapped out, had a massive flat spot for some reason. maybe i just got a dirty batch. im going back to optimax, nuf said
  23. This is where i got it from, i dunno if he's a fuel engineer or what... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=20165
  24. I read somewhere that Optimax was no longer 98, but had gone down to 96, and that Synergy was actually 98. can't remember where, maybe somewhere on PF
  25. I used to get pulled over all the time when i had my kingswood and was on my P's. i had one follow me all the way across town just to pull me over and ping me for missing my rear plate. as soon as i left bathurst they never touched me again, and now i've got a skyline from the sounds of things im skating on thin ice as i haven't been pulled over or even been given a dirty look yet.
