  1. Ah... what shifter hole? the shifter is in the Gearbox, not the transfer case.
  2. Some good news, the gearbox is fine. The transfer case is rooted, but luckily the one on the auto box appears identical, so it should be a simple swap over exercise.
  3. Spotted My stagea on the back of a tow truck on the way to get it's gearbox ripped out.... what a sad sad day
  4. Would like to help but my son's christening is that day, sorry.
  5. Forgot to mention, I spotted a silver series 1 in Bathurst on the weekend. Not sure if it's a member though, and older lady was driving it like a volvo.
  6. Red R34 GTT coming out of the canberra centre today
  7. Thanks for the help guys, Tony from AF & DT is more than happy to tow my car, it's on his way in the morning anyways. I'll wait and see what tomorrow brings when they pull the gearbox out to inspect. I noticed a pile of oil around my front left wheel and it was all over the rim. I looked behind at the CV joint and the diff but there was no oil showing there. It's as if the oil leaking from the gearbox has somehow travelled up the wheel... very strange.....
  8. Hey leave VL drivers alone, that's all I have to drive now that my Stagea has crapped itself. Mine doesn't have any mods though, except if you count rust as a mod.
  9. How busy are they usually? I need to get this car back on the road ASAP, so any decent gearbox mechanic should be able to help me.
  10. I rang the guys at Advanced Transmission, He said he's never worked on nor seen an R33 GTR gearbox. I'm still going to take the car there so he can look at it and let me know my choices, but does anyone know of a gearbox workshop who knows how the GTR boxes are put together? I might need to get this one rebuilt if the damage is worse than it looks.
  11. Thanks mate, I've had work done there before when my car was an auto, but I wasn't sure if they did manual gearboxes. I'll give the guys a call and get my car towed out there today hopefully.
  12. Definately Sold. Thanks Amal, the package will be sent first thing tomorrow morning.
  13. Well some of you already know from the Spotted thread that my stagea litterally shat itself on Friday afternoon. My transfer case from my newly converted manual Stagea destroyed itself and now has a gaping hole in it. I don't think the gearbox itself is damaged as after the initial kerplosion it still drove for a bit. I have my old auto transmission and it looks like the transfer case is identical so I may be able to just swap them over. I've come looking for advice. Who knows of a good gearbox/driveline workshop in the northside (Belconnen/Gungahlin) who knows of or is good with GTR gearboxes? I want to get them to first: Inspect the damage, second: determine whether or not the auto transfer case is adaptable, third: repair and replace a working gearbox. I'm going to start a search myself, but if anyone has any good/bad experiences in these areas let me know PS, if anyone knows a cheap, reliable tow truck service can you pass me their details as well. broken gearboxes make it hard to drive to workshops. Cheers guys, Leshy
  14. BOOM....
  15. No idea what happened, but I haven't looked at it yet. I'll take it to a transmission shop on Monday and get it looked at, see if I can use the auto transfer case, otherwise I'll give Just Jap a call. It's an R33 GTR gearbox, do you think an R32 transfer case would fit?
  16. I have a new Power FC + Controller for sale. It's for an R33 Series 2. Never been used, has sat in my garage for about 18 months in it's box. The box has been opened, but that was just for my curiosity when I bought it. I'm asking $1000 firm, and I won't separate the parts. As I said, this has never been used. I also have an R33 Series 2 computer including the plugs to the loom, asking $150 firm. I had these 2 parts for a conversion for my Stagea. Will sell combined to anyone doing a manual Stagea Series 1 conversion for $1100. Interested persons can PM me or email me at: [email protected] Thanks Leshy
  17. The rain came and went before the tow truck showed up. It took about 3 hours to get me home as because the transfer case was shagged, he had to use the 'dolly' as he wasn't driving a flat bed. What a mess, there's a gaping hole in the transfer case and chunks of stuff everywhere. I have my old auto gearbox and the transfer cases look identical so hopefully I can just swap them over and get back on the road.
  18. Well I haven't officially advertised it yet, which is a good thing as I had a disaster strike this arvo. Driving along at a leisurely 80kph, i hear an almighty snap, then heaps of bits falling off my car and smoke pouring out the back of it. I pulled over, had a look under the car and sure as shit, the transfer case has destroyed itself..... Now I have to figure out how to get a new one of those. and to make matters worse my NRMA membership had expired, which didn't make the towing cheap.
  19. I was driving alongside a nice blue V35 Skyline 350GT on my way home tonight, it was soooo good looking.
  20. Jerry did a fair bit of work to my Stagea, and the work was good. It probably wasn't the best job I've seen, but it sufficed for me while I was on a budget.
  21. Dude, I just upgraded my fuel pump, and it's as easy as it sounds. Get a hose clamp (76mm) and you'll be sweet. Just use the bottom part of the fuel pump assembly and it'll work alright. If not, give me a call (0419004274) and I'll give you a hand with anything as I've done the whole thing before.
  22. I wanted to participate in that, but because I'm selling I thought I'd relax the wagonater. I'll be in Bathurst house hunting that weekend actually. Just as an enquiry, I wanted to advertise my car for $20k, if you look at my list of mods could everyone give me an idea of whether or not I'm dreaming? Redbook shows the 1996 Stagea as being worth between $11k and $14k: 1996 Nissan Stagea RS FOUR-V (Manual Converted) 190,000km 2.5L Turbo ATTESA AWD Dual airbags Leather Interior Electric seats Dual Sunroof Tinted windows Boot protector Luggage divider Aftermarket grill and eyelids Side, Front and Rear skirts Body coloured bumpers Custom Stagea floor mats Tow bar AUTECH replica rear spoiler 3 point alarm/imobiliser Modifications: GCG High-flow turbo Turbotech boost valve (10psi) 18” Shadow Chrome Wheels (gutter rash) TEIN adjustable coilovers Whiteline adjustable sway bars Adjustable rear camber arms GReddy Front mount intercooler K&N High flow panel filter Custom radiator air guide Pioneer MP3 CD player Pioneer 2 x 250W Kevlar splits front Pioneer 2 x 280W 4-way rear Turbo Timer 3” Turbo back Fujitsubo exhaust (quiet) Bosch 040 fuel pump Nissan Stagea Series 2 tail lights VDO Boost, Oil pressure & Oil Temp gauges (Not fitted) Manual Conversion: R33 GT-R 5 speed manual gearbox conversion Nissan Stagea Series 2 Manual interior R34 GT-R Brass button single plate clutch It’s still missing some minor interior parts to complete the conversion, which I can supply part numbers for. I have an R33 Series 2 ECU as well as the auto Stagea ECU is still installed. Just so everyone knows this is not a "For Sale" pitch, it's just a general enquiry. I'm very, very happy to keep the car after the amount of effort I've put into it. Cheers, Leshy
  23. That's gold, pure gold.
  24. Probably should post in the For Sale section
