  1. I haven't really thought about it yet. I have a date at least, I'll be leaving town on the 15th of October, so the 12th is the last Friday I'll be here. I won't be getting a 32 straight away, probably in about 6 months after I've settled down and saved a bit of flash. If anyone knows anyone who's after a decent Stagea let me know. I've got to do a little electrical work and then she'll be on the market.
  2. I lived in Bathurst all through school, and only moved to Canberra for Uni. I've done my time here, and now I want to go back to my roots I guess. By Bathurst type car I do mean a commodore or falcon. the insurance is about $1000 cheaper for me to own one of those than the Stagea. I'm planning to get an R32 GTSt to compete in hill climbs and track days. I won't be leaving the SAU scene just yet. I've only ever hit 1 roo as well, but that was in a 1971 kingswood and it didn't do too much damage. In the Stagea it would almost be a right off at 100kph. I don't want the hassle of repairing a Stagea in Bathurst, so far from any import dealer/mechanic. I'm also keen to get back into motorbike riding out bush, and therefore getting a ute. I could always tow a bike trailer with the Stagea, so we'll see what happens. I've got to do a little bit more work to it before I put it on the market. I'll be thinking it over the next 2 weeks whether or not to sell, but at the moment I'm looking to part ways. I think I was one of the first few guys on here with a Stagea, and I've had my fun with it. I'll be upset when I sell it, but you can't have everything forever.
  3. Hey guys. I'm going to be moving the family to Bathurst, and I've decided to get a more 'Bathurst' type car to save some money on insurance and also repairs as roos are a fair bit more common in the bush. So I'll be putting my car on the market in the next few weeks or so. Let anyone out there know who's looking for a nice stagea that's been looked after to keep an eye out for mine cheers guys
  4. Well mine time in the Nations Capital is coming to an end. I've decided to move back to my home town of Bathurst to be closer to my family now that I've started mine. I'll be leaving in about 6 - 8 weeks with the wife and kid in tow. I'll still frequent the ACT in my travels as the missus has a lot of friends down here now, and the Bathurst car scene doesn't really have the same vibe as it does here. Now here comes the painful news. I'm going to be selling the madwagon. I'll be driving about 35 - 40 minutes through bush each day for my new job, and I want to get a car that's a bit more kangaroo and insurance friendly. So tell your friends that I'll be selling the car, I've just got a few little loose ends to fix up on her and then she's going on the market. I won't be leaving the skyline scene however. I have permission to get myself an R32 race car once I get a nice standard family car. Donnan gave me the great idea that R32's are about $8 - $10k and it wouldn't need compliance or insurance to just drive on a track. Bathurst has a race track somewhere, I think it's a pretty well known one, and they have hill climbs all the time and an R32 will be much easier to race than a Stagea. Bathurst is only 2 hours from Goulburn too so it should be easy to get down for open days and such. Thanks to everyone who's helped me over the past 4 years I've been with SAU, I'll try to make it out in the next few weeks to give the old girl a final send off. Leshy
  5. I saw a skyline today.... I think it was an R31 wagon, some old dude was driving it.
  6. Damnit, I got excited, I'm an engineer, but not an automotive engineer.... I thought I was important for a minute.
  7. Spotted Mark in the Canberra Centre tonight about 7pm. I was about 2m away from you yelling your name out but you still didn't see me.... what else can I do?
  8. I dropped my clutch, still getting used to the brass button, and I had a little chirp going back onto Parkes Way. I felt pretty stupid, but this clutch is hard to get used to. Sorry if I got anyone in trouble.
  9. I wish my car would tell me when he goes to the snow without me....
  10. I'm sorry to do this, but it's a pet hate of mine. It's 'a lot', two words.... Sorry. Perhaps my undercover Volvo should go in the lead, the cops never suspect the 'volvo'
  11. Can I come? I don't have a skyline, but it's a skyline at heart. Also how long will everyone be at the museum? I have something on from 7pm, probably finish around 9.
  12. even if you can't I can meet you somewhere else during the week/weekend, I have a car Also I don't make it to the meets as often as I used to.
  13. Hey leigh, mind if i check out if that snorkle will fit my stagea? I have the same airbox as an r33 but haven't got a snorkle.
  14. hell yeah, finally a 4WD dyno day! Let me check with the wife, but I'm pretty sure I can come.
  15. oversize tyres?
  16. 24 and had it for 3 years. I have a wife and a 2 month old kid now, but I didn't buy the wagon for that.
  17. spotted CJ today in Melba, I was on the side of the road getting my kid out of my corolla.
  18. Last I checked a cars ride height was taken at kerb weight (all fluids and 10L of fuel), so I don't know where they get the 4 passengers from.
  19. I had an R33 for a year, I've now had the Stagea for 3 years and never looked back. I don't need a super fast car, but I do need the room of a wagon, even more so now that I have a 2 month old son. Saying that, I've probably spent close to the amount I paid for the car again on it in mods. It's so much fun!
  20. Bureaucracy at it's finest... Next they'll hit us all with greenhouse taxes...
  21. The clutch uses most of the mounting points from the park brake, so it's impossible to have both installed.
  22. What Nick said, if you want a tighter turning circle get the RS, but if you want grip in the wet, get the RS Four.
  23. Don't speed and you won't need to know where any of these speed cameras are Also, they stick out like dogs balls so aren't that hard to spot before you get to them.
  24. I couldn't imagine Chris being rude to anyone, he was always very professional when I dealt with him. Also, Marc doesn't work there anymore just in case anyone gets confused.
