  1. Ah! that's the part I need! I'm just using some rubber I got from Clarks and some silicone to fix it, I don't think I need a boot that hefty.
  2. I went to Tempe... But I'll never do that again. try the for sale section or eBay?
  3. I've had my Stagea on a skid pan, and I was having trouble initially getting it to slip. Mostly it was under steering and going straight when I was accelerating. Once I figured out how to flick the back out, it still brought the nose around much quicker and easier than a skyline (Previous car was an R33 GTST and it was very easy to slide). The AWD is definitely safer and keeps the car on the road.
  4. Passed a white R32 GTR in civic today as they were turning into the Canberra Centre
  5. Well the owner has had 2 Stageas now and also an ATESSA Bluebird. I don't know if they specialise in them, but they're certainly getting to know them.
  6. I got in trouble from my missus from doing my manual conversion on my stagea. It's all done now, so she can start to calm down but there's so much more I need to do to the car. We just had a child, so I think the stagea is going to take a backseat to any spending in the family. Sometimes you just have to make sacrifices for the family. However, her car is a turbo corolla, so she can't get angry at me for having a sports car, just spending too much money on it.
  7. just to clarify, the AWD will not corner better than the RWD in terms of just steering. That comes down to suspension and tyre choice. AWD will assist when accelerating in/out of corners and starting from stationary.
  8. I've just converted my Stagea to a manual, so I've got my old transmission for sale. It's from a 1996 S1 Stagea, and has done 190,000km. Recently had a full service and still in good condition. I've got all the bits and bobs that go with it, except one of the brackets for the dipstick had to be cut off. I'm after $200 for it, if no one wants it within 6 months I'm going to give it to a wrecker or throw it out, whichever is easier.
  9. I just got my manual box installed today, hell yeah I'm coming out for a drive. She's a bit noisy, but it drives beautifully. I need to get a boot to cover the hole
  10. Yeah I think that a bit too much of the transmission tunnel was cut away to fit m gearstick in, so I don't know if the part will fit. I'll try and get one anyway, I'm sure I can fit it somehow. Anywho, the car drives much better with the manual in, I'm so excited. all I need now is to fix the R&R problem I'm having due to my new turbo.
  11. yeah and painting itself all the time, hehe. Maybe it's because the R34 GTR's are getting a bit cheaper, especially with the Yen going the way it is.
  12. All parts are installed. Just waiting on some gearbox oil to be filled and the ATESSA system to be bled and it's all done. I still have to fix up the electrics, but for all intents and purposes the car will drive. How have some people covered the hole that was cut for the gearstick to come through? I was just going to seal it with some rubber and silicone, but if there's a particular item that fits easier let me know.
  13. Problem solved, Justjap are going to supply me with a full clutch kit which will fix it all. It's going to cost a little bit more but at least it will work.
  14. Yeah that's one of the parts that I'm missing. I called JustJap in Sydney, apparently you can't get the part anywhere, which seems a little odd to me.
  15. SFOH@E$*Y&!Q!! Halfway through the conversion, it turns out the clutch I have been supplied with is wrong, and I'm missing a part of the gearbox that works the throwout bearing. why does this happen to me!!
  16. I concur, they're doing my gearbox conversion for me. It's a bit of a tricky swap but they're still willing to give it a go. It helps that Marc has a manual Stagea already to compare with.
  17. I used an R33 GTR handbrake and it needed some slight adjusting, but apart from that it all lined up. maybe it had been bent in the previous car
  18. Have you thought about the Evo wagon they released? I don't know if they made very many though.
  19. I'm running 18" mesh rims with dish in shadow chrome, they're a no name brand and soft as sh!t, so they have a fair amount of gutter rash on them. Looking for a set of R34 GTR rims in the future.
  20. What's wrong with it? Marc said something to do with the intercooler. Anywho I'll be there a bit tomorrow, should say Hi. Also, spotted a Maroon R33 (NSW Plates) driving along Haydon drv, doing some 'awesome' wheel spins taking off from the lights. I saw a P-plater take out a light pole this arvo because he was having some fun in the wet, people should be more careful.
  21. spotted nsanity's car on the hoist at goodyear tyres in belconnen. your car took time away from mine so i couldn't get my gearbox finished, damn you! Oh well, there's no rush. Also spotted a black 4 door R34 non-turbo at autobarn in belconnen.
  22. Just to confirm something on that list, the bell housing bolts are M10 x 1.5. The auto ones are 40mm, for the manual you'll need 60mm plus some washers.
  23. It's got everything a Forrester has. plus more! 0.5L greater capacity 2 extra cylinders, The pistons fire in the right direction More luggage space Option of dual sunroof R33 Engine
  24. 1 word: Stagea
  25. I've been getting around 350km to a tank, but I've just installed a hi-flow and my 5spd gearbox is going in tomorrow, so I'll check it again after that.
