i did the same as you mate, sold my R33 and got the madwagon. you'll notice a lot more head room and luggage space, but also the sluggishness of a car 200kg heavier and auto.
i think we already had a discussion on putting the auto on the back of the RB26DETT. no computer is available to run the setup, so the auto won't know when to change gears.
you can thread the wires up the pillar pretty easily. just remove the kickplate and the cover on the side of the foot well, then remove the rubber from the door frame. you can slide the wires up the side of the A-pillar cover and out the hole from the tweeter cover.
yeah i had wheel bearing problems. they're easy to fix, you just have to get new ones it cost me a bit as my mech had trouble matching them, but in the end we found the part numbers, they're in the stagea parts post.
well i'm already saving for one with 6spd manual and VQ35DD. twin turbo kit can come later, but i just want the potential there already.
i can dream can't i?
so far i've only received a quote from the belconnen auto refinishers just around the corner from you near sportsmans warehouse. can you shed some light on someone else in belco who won't ask for my first born?
Well, my front (and rear) bumper needs a respray and i started shopping for quotes. one place gave me a massive $1500 just for the 2. now the main gripe i have is they told me i need to replace the chrome strips that go around the bumpers. i thought these could just unclip/detach and then go back in later. she was adamant that i couldn't do that and she was going to source some new ones for me. i don't know if they're trying to stitch me or these bumpers actually need to have the chrome replaced.
if anyone has had the same thing happen or has repainted the stock bumpers could you let me know how you went about it?
larger rims also increase inertia, as most of the mass is on the outside of the wheel. this means it takes more energy to get up to speed, but also you retain that energy a little longer, making it harder to stop as well.
Just spotted in braddon as i crossed the road half an hour ago a maroon R32 looked to be doing laps. mate it's thursday, you don't need to be that keen.
slightly different engine but i guess the principles the same. older engines do have less bits though so less bits to break. my old 71 kingswood had a 253 V8 and it was indestructable. i don't know how many times the clock had ticked over but it was a very simple engine. would this be a factor in engine life? how long does the VQ35 last? does anyone know because it's only resonably new.
