I have done a search for this but haven't found anything definitive. I've busted up my gearbox, and while it's off I was thinking I should do some good servicing to the engine. Is it advisable to replace the big end seal after the engine has done over 200,000km? I know RB25's haven't been known to blow big end bearings regularly, but i figured the engine is getting close to its usable life without a rebuild, i might try and salvage some more km out of it. So if anyone can let me know what they think, it would be veyr much appreciated. Cheers, Leshy

The only problem with mine is I need to remove them whenever the park light blows. They're only held on with double sided tape.

keen to find out as well, my R33 GTR gearbox in my Stagea just crapped its transfer case out, are the R32 units the same?

Well got her up on the hoist today. it's not too bad, but probably as bad as i expected. When the drive shaft let go, it basically punched a hole in the side of the transfer case. so all i'm up for is a new drive shaft and a new transfer case. i'll give just jap a call tomorrow, but i'll have a look around on the forum for a cheap transfer case first. the mechanic also told me my water pump was leaking heaps and my front tyres were both bald... he just lumped on the good news didn't he....

Yeah i've never had a problem getting a job. actually this one was offered to me, i didn't even have to look for it. you just have to be willing to move where the work is. Construction in Sydney has slowed down a bit, but inother places like western NSW there's plenty going on. I grew up out this way so it was an easy move for me. 4 years of HECS to repay does make a dint into the pay though...

How much for your front driveshaft? I stuffed mine yesterday... long story.

That's correct. I went through the exercise last time my transfer case gave up. I'm just speculating but i'm pretty sure my driveshaft is stuffed, the clutch has dropped to the floor so something to with that is stuffed, there's a whole lot of gearbox oil on the ground (and the back of the tilt tray) so there's a hole in the transfer case or gearbox somewhere, i'm pobably up for about $2k worth of repairs here. i'll see how much i can do myself, but i don't like the chances of it.
