  1. I'm pretty sure you saw mine ages ago when you still came to friday nights. Mine is always parked in the old bit of carpark still left in civic, i work on one of the construction sites spotted a gunmetal R32 on my way to woden today from the city also
  2. I got my last 2 pieces of my tail lights today, finally! now on the weekend i'll be putting them on and i'll have a series 2 butt on my nice shiny series 1!
  3. Spotted a very nice looking white R31 on monaro highway around 11ish. didn't have circle taillights though, had the other dodgy pintara type
  4. Anyone thought about the climate control unit? this is located in the front passenger foot well. a belt or fan motor could be loose or have come away from something else. i'd dig around there and see if that's the problem
  5. i only got one key with my car, and for some reason it's bent. it still starts the car, but i doubt i could get a key cut for it. some genious has ground off the numbers on the key as well. to get a key cut fresh, i'm assuming i'll need to take the car to a dealer or locksmith for them to get a number off the ignition barrel?
  6. But you need the roof racks? if i took mine off my 260RS wing would look really out of place i think
  7. I'm fairly sure most mechanical parts are similar to R33/R34, but the body parts you'll need to go stagea specific. Steering/control arms would most likely be R33 but i'd double check it with someone who's actually had a look at the two next to each other.
  8. Abmaker
  9. Kangaroo valley is supposed to be a good one too
  10. what's woosy?
  11. Hehe, i got one of those ages ago when i first bought my stagea, my mate found it in a toy shop in sydney somewhere. i think they only come in that green colour
  12. I thought you couldn't drive manuals though? get someone with an auto and swap the gearboxes over, have an auto GTR stagea
  13. Carbon fibre still has weight, the resin also makes up a lot of the weight. i was just making an educated guess after doing many a carbon layup during uni compared to how much steel eeighs, i don't know the weight of a bonnet, again just an educated guess
  14. I think you've gotten confused, you should be using thermal conductivity, not specific heat capacity. the thermal conductivity of water is 0.56W/m.K, where as that of air is 0.0025W/m.K Just noting that it's a rate, not a quantity
  15. Water is actually a conductor, which is why they use it in cars to transfer heat from the engine out of the radiator
  16. reception would be crap because of the booster not set up properly. i used ot get crap reception, lose tripleJ about 20km from canberra. when i got the radio place to fix another problem they noticed it wasn't hooked up right and now i can get it anywhere they transmit. even in the middle of nowhere.
  17. i have 2 of the snail shaped ones, is this what we're talking about? mine is't wussy i don't think, gives a good honk
  18. pretty sure factory bonnets are steel, only the GTR's had aluminium bits. carbon weighs a considerable amount less than steel, probably save you 30 or 40kg.
  19. WIFE: What would you do if I died? Would you get married again? HUSBAND: Definitely not! WIFE: Why not - don't you like being married? HUSBAND: Of course I do. WIFE: Then why wouldn't you remarry? HUSBAND: Okay, I'd get married again. WIFE: You would? (With a hurtful look on her face.) HUSBAND: (makes audible groan) WIFE: Would you live in our house? HUSBAND: Sure, it's a great house. WIFE: Would you sleep with her in our bed? HUSBAND: Where else would we sleep? WIFE: Would you let her drive my car? HUSBAND: Probably, it is almost new. WIFE: Would you replace my pictures with hers? HUSBAND: That would seem like the proper thing to do. WIFE: Would she use my golf clubs? HUSBAND: No, she's left-handed. WIFE: - - - silence - - HUSBAND: F**k!
  20. they're a little less efficient than air to air intercoolers, becasue you're transferring energy from air to water, then from water to air. regular intercoolers don't have that middle step. i looked into it for a while, they're comparatively priced, but there's still that efficiency drawback
  21. The reason for this is japanese radios have a different frequency range than australian radios. you;ll have an adapter in series with your radio boosting the frequency of all chanels by 10 or 20Mhz, so if in Aus the station is 102.5, on your radio it will read 82.5, or if the staion is 94.6, the radio will read 84.6 or 74.6, i forget how it works sometimes. but basically it's out by a factor of either 10 or 20MHz because of this converter.
  22. i keep getting g'd up at servos by the attendants. they ask if it's the new volvo or audi. they get a bit surprised when i say it's a nissan. i don't let them know though, i just say it's a nissan stationwagon. the intercooler on the front is enough to keep them thinking
  23. Why not just get an Autech, that's exactly what they did to an RS4, plus some extra added chassis stiffening, suspension modifications and the computer is already set up. they're coming in around $35k these days, if you sell your stagea it'll only be about $20k extra on top of that, which is probably close to what you'll pay for the conversion
