For Sale - Highly Modified R33 Gts-t
markr154 replied to markr154's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
There you go ...I can pretty much guess who this is ...what do you aim to achieve by posting here? How can you say you represent the 'Ford People of WA' ...I know that there are plenty of Ford owners here in WA who will not stoop so low as to post meaningless 'sabotaging' bullshit in another guys thread on an unrelated site. My recent car purchases have been MY decisions alone ...and I alone have had to deal with the consequences ...none of them have PERSONALLY affected anyone but ME. Talk about 'back-stabbing' ...you're a disgrace mate ...the REAL 'Ford People of WA' should be ashamed to see this. The car is SOLD ...the buyer knows EXACTLY what my reasons are (which incidentally YOU don't), and what he's getting. THIS THREAD SHOULD BE CLOSED!!! -

Can precision fit and / or respray front bumpers ...along with other bodykit bit and pieces already on my R33 GTS-T? ...wing mirrors, rear skirts, rear wings etc? I've just bought this car from over East ...and the R400 bar is generally rooted ...and a few bits of the bodykit are badly finished / faded! Also does anyone here know the BEST place / wreckers to go for well-priced Skyline Parts? ...including interior panels / switches etc? I'm really after a 2nd hand intact stock Series 1 / 2 front bar ...as the R400 bar keeps scraping evry friggin' thing ...it's too goddamn LOW! Any help would be MUCH appreciated ...I'm a VIRGIN WA-based Skyline owner! I'm like ly to be off the PC for a week atm ...so anyone who can offer help / suggestions is welcome to call me on 0404 701 035. Cheers, MARK

Yep ...looks like I'll soon be a virgin Jap import owner ...and I'm sure this car will suit me to a tee I've already got a few plans in place to enhance her cosmetic 'appeal' a little. Thanks for all your honesty and help Dan, she will be WELL looked after ...definitely something the Ford boys here will NOT argue with, based on the meticulous pride and care I took with my 'Blue Ovals' previously. I'll start a thread on here when she arrives, so you'll never be out of touch with how she's getting on. Cheers again mate

Random Parts, Performance Parts
markr154 replied to sinistaGTR's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hey Dan, Seeming as I'm now buying your beastie ...I could definitely be interested in that Wine Red rear wing ...is it the same colour as the car, and in good nick? Do the brake lights work in that one? If not ...are they easy enough to fix? Let me know mate. -
That's pretty wild ...you should post up a link to your car. On stock bottom end too ...the Falcon I6's certainly hold up pretty well! I'm not planning on turning this Skyline into a wheel-spinning fire-breathing monster ...but I guess I can always 'tweak' a little bit more out of her if I actually feel the need to do so in the future. For me it's now about driveability, handling, and comfort ...with a bit of 'safe' boost thrown in for good measure without leaving me in the financially precarious position I was in previously.

Another point I neglected to raise is that it is likely that my wife may have to drive this car on occasion. She's not exactly 'manual-friendly' and is one of those maddening drivers that likes to sit 10K's UNDER the speed limit no matter what road she's on ...she just 'tootles' about. A bit of Turbo lag, and some smooth driveability off-boost will go a long way to NOT giving her a scary wake-up call ...and a subsequent ear-bashing to me! Also thanks to Delta for posting his thoughts last night ...as I said, some of the comments were well-meant, and borne out of knowledge and experience ...others were just downright personal attacks.

In case you guys were interested ...this is the Ford EL XR6 Turbo in question: An amazing and unique car ...451 rwkw with 1300 nm of torque, and approx 400 kgs of extra weight in Audio! The new owner is planning to go TWIN Turbo (holy f@@k) ...but even the original owner confessed that he had gone OTT on this car in terms of power and the audio system ...at one point he had 309 rwkw with only half the stereo install ...he lamented recently that THAT's the point he should have kept her at
-
Well said from Delta. Dan and I are already organising to have the screamer and BOV plumbed back ...and I'll be taking my chances with the top-mount turbo. I've already spoken to the WA engineer here that was going to inspect my EL XR6T ...and he basically said that I shouldn't really have any dramas, due to the following: 1. The car is very straight, clean ...and not oozing 'rice' in terms of bodykits, decals, bling rims, ride height etc. 2. The loudest, most attention grabbing components (screamer, BOV etc) will be plumbed back / reverted before car is even sent to WA. 3. The Turbo itself will be sporting a Garrett Turbo jacket before any inspection, so as to minimise it's presence ...of course this may not help much, but it is also probable that the individual pit inspector on the day may not find this out of place ...since this car originally came out as a Turbo model anyway. 4. I am a mature (on the face of it anyway) 40 y.o. who will be presenting the car for inspection ...not some beanie-wearing P-Plater encrusted in 'bling' jewellery. 5. If I fail pits for any of the above ...the WA engineer has said that he will inspect the car and award any approvals / certificates ...he passed my EL XR6T, and that car was waaaay more obviously modified than this! I am prepared as much as I can be for any eventuality ...we'll just have to see what happens.

Because I'm an Ex-Ford owner! LOL I owned probably OZ's most powerful (600 rwHP) super-modified Turbo EL XR6 Falcon, $130,000 worth of car ...and sold it because it drove and handled like a 'barge' and it was giving me too many everyday problems. The Skyline is a huge 360 deg turnaround for me ...and obviously for the Ford guys I've been hanging around with ...their comments, whilst a little harsh & personal here and there ...are understandable and well-meant. I think I'll be very happy with this car, after the crap I've been through recently ...it's a good compromise between price, power-weight ratio, handling, driveability, and practicality whilst still having some 'appeal'
-
Plunge taken! Now just gotta organise my HKS, Trust and Greddy stickers ...and order my Boeing 747 rear wing and I'll be set
-
I'll call you later Dan This is by no means MY opinion on the car ...but just thought I'd give you and the members here the chance to voice your opinions on their comments ...it also helps me too.

Guys on my Ford site are really putting in their 2 cents worth ...would appreciate your opinions on the comments below! "however I'm going to bag you big time now. You haven't learnt a thing from buying Pyro, you do not "buy" horsepower, its a stupid thing to do, you don't know the history of the car, and things will ALWAYS go wrong. A 350-400rwhp skyline is like buying a 500rwhp falcon, stuff will break, and you'll bitch and complain that lots of money was spent and everything should be perfect. The turbo thats on it looks like the smaller of the 30/40s, which are laggy, but even the bigger one is only capable of around 530-560fwhp, so getting 400rwhp out of it will mean everything will have to be perfect (or you can just goto MCE/BPT/SST and get a high reading dyno figure I suppose). Theres a trillion R33's on the street, lots have been modded like this, they break, they are laggy, and generally suck to drive. If you want a skyline buy a relatively unmodded 32/33 GTR and start from there, mod it yourself, so that you get what you want, rather than a bucket someone else is casting off coz they can't be bothered keeping up with what breaks anymore. Seriously there are only two reasons people sell high perf modded cars, 1 is something is wrong or about to be. The other is they are trading up to something that does what they want, for half the mods, half the headache, and half the breakages. Seriously, your an older guy, and I would have thought you'de have more sense, or at least that you'de learn from the pyro experience. Go find a skyline forum, as every tosser on those forums loves it if you can afford to just buy a fast car and continuously fix problems. They will tell you your the MAN, meanwhile I respect those who have the balls to build it themselves" "yeah skylines are relible..... till you mod them. mate has one pushing 360rwhp on 14psi (low boost) and it so unrebilble. its been off the road more than its been on. he just had the turbonetics t66 rebuilt and that alone cost close too $2500. sure its good now.... but once its starts to break you will never here the end of it. its like any modded performance car... things do go wrong" "lol @ r33 ...man that exhaust housing is f*ken tiny" "it should still be fine once the turbo kicks in (with bulk lag... bulk) "You do realise that dynos can read what ever you like, that people can lie, and that figures can be exagerated, oh and someone saying that it will definitely make 300rwkw with some more boost obviously doesn't know much about turbochargers, as they DO have flow limits, its not like you can just wind it up to 40 psi and make 600rwkw. I'm sure it will make 300rwkw, but at what boost, and for how long, and will the drive line last..who knows. You would be MUCH better off with a GTR. Good tyres, exhaust, wind the boost up a little and into the 12's easily, where as a lot of the skyline guys with around 350rwhp over here are running 13.2's 13.4's. Not too many lightly modded GTST's running in the 12's comfortably, not even many highly modded ones. Theres a guy running 10's but its got EVERYTHING and I do mean everything T88D nitrous powerglide etc etc, sits on 4000rpm at 100k's its not nice to drive. They do reasonably well around the track, and are excellent at drift, thats about all they are good for. And this is NOT a rice hater speech, I have friends who own Skylines, some are highly modded, they aren't happy, and most of them say they would have bought a GTR rather than GTST. Those of my friends who own GTR's on the other hand have spent much less, and are much happier" "I'll be driving my current project car (it might just take 20 yrs to complete)....and the falcon (if its still in one piece) will still be my weekender. If its NOT in one piece (you never know what can happen and must plan for these things) I'll probably buy what ever cult car is going around at the time, for ages that was the VL turbo, then the GTR and Supra, now the XR6 Turbo. One very good lesson a friend taught me was that you don't buy the shit car in the range if your buying a new car, you buy THE best (standard if possible) car you can with the money you have. So why buy a car thats already modded and have the previous owners problems, when you can buy a BETTER stock or near stock car thats just as fast with fewer mods (which means its generally more reliable) ie why could you buy a v6 commodore, when you can have the 6L beast instead?"

Very nice mate! Dunno if I'm just being ignorant here ...but what's with the SILVER wing mirrors?
-
BTW ...is this a series 2 model? Do all the electrics / Air Con work OK? ...I like my creature comforts ...nice COLD A/C FTW!!! How does the stereo sound? What sort of alarm has this got? ...I'm security conscious too!
-
Very nice, HAHA ...what's with the 'SMELLOVISION' comments? BTW ...can you post up some pics of the FRONT of the car? Wanna see how the FMIC sits and looks. Also some pics of the LH side, and the interior (from passenger side, back seats etc)? Car looks straight as, and paintwork looks absolutely IMMACULATE ...am I right? Also ...what is that colour? I LOVE it! Cheers mate

OK guys ...where's this YOUTUBE link? ...I'm curious now!

Mate ...I've just been through that shite with another car (Chameleon Painted Ford EL XR6 with a GT 35/40 Turbo set-up (600 rwHP), T56 gearbox & heaviest clutch I've ever driven, and $60,000 audio set-up)...did the whole application thing with DPI WA (took friggin ages) ...and then sold the car before an engineer could have a squizz at her. Don't really wanna go through this again ...this car may well just pull through ...still risky but.
-
Where's the room for the shopping, or spare wheel? Haha Nah ...was thinking I could just whack a single 10" Eclipse sub in there instead for more room.
